This is a scenario where Austria was divided like Germany

Story-After WWII, Austria was divided between the Western Allies and Soviet Occupation zones, Akins to the occupation of Germany. Unlike Germany, these occupation zones would unite into the Republic of Austria as a neutral nation in the Cold War. In this timeline, the Soviet Union would illegally turn their occupied zone into the Austrian Democratic Confederation, known as East Austria, and station more units of the Red Army there. As responding to the this, yet not wanting to start a war, the Western parts unite into the Republic of Austria, known as west Austria. While Stalin would be pissed about this, they already have Vienna under East Austria, and the remainder of Austria effectively was just islands of People in the middle of Very hilly areas and the Alps, along with having the rest of Eastern Europe under their control, would not see it as worth it to start a war over. They would join NATO, the EC and would later unite in 1990.

Notes-I spent way too much time making East Germany for it to appear in the corner. So I know I said in my Korean war post that it will be the last post for February, but stuff that I say is a mid-week post gets posted sporadically, is usually is pretty small and takes little time to make, while the main stuff gets uploaded on Fridays.
