I'm relatively new and get good starts on certain nations but i mostly play in private servers and some materials aren't available in the servers, is this a downside to private servers or is it just a bug?
If its steel, then you just need factories. All natural resources should be in private servers.
So unatural resources, electronics, for example, wont be in private servers?
Not unless you build factories.
Factories require natural resources, hence natural resources = factories = unnatural resources
If u do want a head start, Tungsten will get difficult to get as the game progesses
