Fascism is still a totalitarian ideology in itself, so it doesn't allow free opinion or free vote. In fact, many totalitarian states have silenced and killed their own people because of them opposing the running government inside the country.

It has its origins from catholic priests; the oldest known use of it starting by the era of Charlemagne. Other examples can be the Emperor Otto III and the Emperor Frederick Barbarossa. The list goes on and on.

The reason why it is so unpopular nowadays is because the Reichsadler and other historical figures and symbols were bastardized and used as propaganda by the Third Reich, and now they're mispurposely taken as Nazi symbols.

So in short words: The Reichsadler or double-headed eagle is not a Nazi symbol; it's a religious symbol.
