The Greek-Yugoslav confederation was a political concept during World War II, sponsored by the United Kingdom and involving the Greek government-in-exile and the Yugoslav government-in-exile. The two governments signed an agreement pushing the proposal ahead, but it never got beyond the planning stage because of opposition from within the Greek and the Yugoslav governments, real world events, and the opposition of the Soviet Union. Though it is not the official time that the war ended, I would like to pay respect to all the men who put their lives on the line to serve their countries and fight for what they believed in.

70 million military personnel were involved in the Great War, and 10 million of those men did not return home to their families.

Over 30 million innocent civilians were killed as a result of the war.

While we mainly only celebrate the victors of the war, we should also celebrate the Central Powers' men for showing valor and standing up for their allies. The same goes for the Allied Powers' men. Everyone who participated in the war showed valor, even if they barely participated. They showed valor by fighting for their country and going to war and leaving their families to fight.

A true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.

To finish off, as the great Abraham Lincoln said,

"That some achieve great success, is proof to all that others can achieve it as well."

Background: In 2008, Kosovo declared independence from Serbia. This is a very conflicting independence, however. Kosovo is recognized as independent by most members of the EU, as well as 98 members of the UN, including the United States. Still, many countries, including Russia, do not recognize Kosovo as independent.

Croatian, Bosnian, Serbian, and Montenegrin should be called the “Jugoslav” language because these languages are literally the same.
