The nation of the former formable Trio Java represents all of the best countries of the world combined into one, glorious beautiful and simple nation. But behind this removed fictional country lies the marvelous work and effort put into this nation along with the flag and the significance that Hyperant shamefully destroyed, after hours of planning and effort put into the formable.
Chapter 1: The Origins
Though this country didn't have any historical significance, or anything related to history at all, it is still made up of 3 West African countries looking upon the Atlantic Sea - Botswana, Angola, and Namibia respectively.
These nations are in poverty in-game and in real life, and the poverty and unemployment rates are very high, but the nation of Trio Java solves all of this, uniting the ethnic peoples of all 3 countries into a utopia of rivers, jungles, cities, and towns that become developed when you click the form button. Whether you take these nations by diplomacy, militarism or otherwise, forming this nation creates an economic beast only rivaled by what, every other formable? It unites humankind throughout these nations and forms a metropolis, quite possibly a hivemind and makes the people inside happy. Like other formables, forming Trio Java lifts you out of debt, deficit etc. and brings you (and your people) out of suffering and into a new age.
Chapter 2: The Flag
The flag of Trio Java is shrouded in mystery, never revealed by Hyperant even when he removed the nation (shameful still). Remember, what I'm saying is a complete guess and does not mean to disrespect the original meaning of the Trio Javian flag in any way. Here is my theory.
The Sun
The flag of the state of Trio Java represents so many things in my belief. I am guessing that the bright yellow circle in the middle, alike Bangladesh and Japan represents either the moon or the sun, but I am going to go with the sun. The sun represents the hot jungles of these countries along with the arid deserts, and the fact that Africa gets the most sun out of every continent on Earth. This overlaps 2 beautiful diagonally-aligned colors that I am going to get to next.
The Ocean
The blue in the flag I'm guessing represents the ocean, as these countries overlook the Atlantic Ocean, one of the biggest oceans on earth rivaled only by the Pacific. This means so many things as the Atlantic grants rivers in these nations and in the inevitable formable which is the main source of drinking water for the inhabitants of Trio Java and the modern-day nations.
The Beaches
The orange on the flag represents the beaches of Trio Java bordering the Atlantic, providing dirt for crops, and other vital things for the civilization, and is perfect stable land for buildings, cities, and dense urban megalopolises of Trio Java.
Chapter 3: Culture and Lore
Surprisingly, there is a beautiful set of lore included in Trio Java. I will go through all of this.
In 700 AD, 3 tribes were formed around the area of Trio Java- the Makja, the Va and the Gantai, hence the name Trio (Three) Java. Due to the large amount of lore, I will copy the scripts from the main wiki:
(From the Roblox Rise of Nations Wiki, thank you to the writers)
Makja
The Makja were the strongest tribe among the Javans, originating around approximately 700 AD, making them the oldest. Founded by Warlord Makja, of which the tribe is the namesake of the Makjas in this time period have extended their zone of control even to the coast, allowing them to have better supplies than the rest. Their shortcomings are in the satisfaction of the people, relatively low to what other tribes are, and is on the verge of splitting, allowing for the Bantus to successfully take over them.
in 945 AD, Makja XVII had already died and the tribe was inching into civil war. The successor, Makja XVIII was a puppet to his subjects and wasn't able to muster a strong military.
Va
The Va were the weakest tribe, but what they succeeded in was strategy. In the flat grounds of what were their lands, they were an expert in battles despite the terrible terrain for them, focusing on battle tactics. This allows them to successfully defend their lands, on the frontline of the Bantu invasion despite being outnumbered easily. The legendary Great Battle of Gama had 20 Vas successfully fend off from 5,000 Bantus, a great military record allowing them to be feared among the Javan tribes.
Their current political situation at the time was however difficult, as the Makja and Gantai had allied in order to prevent their expansions. One attack from both those forces may easily end them, so they have to keep a base of loyal followers and a strong image to deflect them.
Gantai
The Gantai were the most influential of the three, partaking in most diplomatic matters. Founded by Chief Ta, a woman in her times women were allowed to serve in the Gantai military and thus had a military comparable to that of the Makja, even if the Gantai are less skilled warriors.
The current political situation, while allied with Makja is close to breaking off, although one keeps them united: The Va.
Makjavangantaiandrianmpandramenitra I of Java
Rise to Power
Akanyang was born in a poor situation, far from the capital and the residence of the Chief of Gantai, however had solace in his wealthy father's library. From there, he had learned the languages of Makja and Va, which would play into his future.
At the age of 25, he had decided, mustering all the money he can to move to the capital. After 3 months, he had arrived. The flourishing town of Tamaga, as rich as it could be as he has ever seen in his lifetime, made the trip worth it. He quickly moved in, and moved in to Tamaga literally and moved into Gantai court. His charisma allowed him to personally befriend the Chief. As a close associate and an old man with no heir, he was considering him as a successor heavily.
Chief Dineo of Gantai, had a very outgoing personality, and so quickly met up with Akanyang. In 921 AD, designated by the chief himself as the day of the millionth sun, he was adopted, and named heir to the Gantai tribe. The world had cheered that day, as said by oral stories.
Reign
In 945 AD, Dineo had suddenly died. While in some iterations of this story, it had been a murder by Akanyang for Dineo's blatant corruption, it is also said to be natural as well. However, the following events are mostly similar:
Akanyang, at around the age of 57 became Chief of Gantai. Supported by the people, his coronation was said to be celebrating by all of Tamaga, the excitedness reaching all corners of Gantai by night.
He quickly focused on consolidating Gantai power, and as well as negotiating stronger relations with the Makja, as well as keeping relations with the Va cordial. His arguments and statements were based off Javan unity, the last people of their kind, without unity all stories will disappear. These arguments failed to persuade until 940 AD, when the Va made an offer to the Gantai, which may or may not be fabricated:
To the Chief, Akanyang of Gantai, the Va make an offer:
Va is in disarray after the death of our chief, 9 factions have taken place.
We cannot sustain the Va people, until they fall to the great menace of the north.
We offer you the rights to the Va, as long as you unify us.
Naturally, as the system he vouched for a decade now, Akanyang had accepted. He sent a force of 3000 men to dispatch the tribal disputes, and take over the Va peacefully.
With Va warriors and strong diplomacy, the Makja were now alone. The alliance with Makja XVI and Akanyang ended. Makja stood alone, but fiercely.
While the issue cannot be mended or dealt with yet, Akanyang took to internal politics, causing the great reform of Javan religion:
He was god of the Makja. His firstborn son, will be god of the Va. and his firstborn son's firstborn heir, will be the god of the Gantai. It was the birthright of him, to finally take the Makja. His claim is legitimate. Only under one, stable Makja-Va-Gantai state will truly fight off the Bantu, who have been slowly eating away at the Makja-Va-Gantai. He will be ruler of Java. Time was on their side. If they resiliently defended, they would succeed in gaining their birth lands, home to forty lost tribes.
This basic principle would centralise Javan religion, changing it for the better.
This was in the right time, that Makja's Makja XVII would die, nearly ending Makja. This allowed Akanyang to gather their forces of 10,000 men, against the Makja's 12,000. With 3,000 Va men fighting for Akanyang, and several Va officers, Akanyang was given great advice as well as a powerful military, made out of the experienced Va men, close to mercenaries. Soon enough, the Makja's were pushed back. However, there was great resistance.
Akanyang took 3 more years, but time was on his side, as said by him and in 948 AD they made a major breakthrough. They made it into their capital by 3 months and a 2 year siege led to the fall of Makja. Both claimants to Makja's chiefdom were imprisoned and executed. Akanyang had successfully usurped Makja.
And in 950 AD, he crowned himself as King of the Javans, to serve the Javans, as a Javan. He united the three tribes into one, and was now formidable as he could raise an army of 20,000 men. The Bantu settlers, attempting to push south knew what was coming for them, from the Caprivi. Akanyang had made quite a name for himself across the very south of Africa, surprising the settlers in modern-day Angola. The Javans were considered bastards in 10th century Angola, and word of a unified force coming to drive them out made them more militant.
Conquest
The Bantus declared in 951 AD.
This, would be the Testament of Akanyang's reign, and one that would be worthy of a new name for him. 70,000 Bantu warriors came south, attempting to rush them. However, the more resillient Javan armies set up defences, easily killing off 65,000 through attrition as they crossed the harsh jungle terrain and transition into desert in the Caprivi.
By then, they had only lost 5,000 men. Rushing 17,000 men into 5,000, the Javans gained a very secure victory. They started heading north and captured vast amounts of land.
In the big picture, the last remaining three tribes only occupied area around the Caprivi, but in this war, they captured half of modern day Angola, and reached the coast. By then, they moved the capital to Lucala in Angola, and became masters at jungle warfare. He was then, renamed to Makjavagantaiandrianmpandramenitra, God of the Javans. A living god, in human flesh.
With easy access to fishing, Javans begun to migrate west to settle the new lands, after deporting the Bantus from the area, concerning a 30 year guerilla war between those forces.
In 953 AD, he hired the greatest poets of the land to write the Epic of Trio Java, which was written for 25 years from 953 to 978 AD. It was written, conquest after conquest, policy per policy, battle after battle, becoming very long by its finish in 978 AD. Replication was started in 979 AD, and it took an average of 3 months to make a new copy.
In the new capital of Lucala, Tamagan architecture was imployed in building the new city, bringing new Javan life into the lands now reconquered from the Bantus.
With new policies, by 954 AD Makjavagantaiandrianmpandramenitra's great administrative skills allowed for instant integration, as well as easy defences set up on the border. The Javans were now reversing the centuries of Bantu conquest, and the people now had a greater lust for war. As King of the Javans, Makjavagantai had to follow the jingoist peoples, despite the non-readiness for war. So for three years, small raids were launched on Bantu villages in northern Namibia, as to create the illusion to distract the peoples of Lucala, while people in further away lands were granted greater autonomy.
Makjavagantaiandrianmpandramenitra at this point had three children, giving his eldest son half of coastal territory, his second son the Caprivi, and his third son the long line of land north, defending from Bantus. If his eldest son died without an heir the realm would be split, causing an odd variant of feudalism that was invented in Africa around this time.
Great Campaign
Makjavagantaiandrianmpandramenitra in 970 AD, around his 70's or 80's had finally decided a great campaign south, commencing a fierce campaign on the Namibian Bantu rulers, especially the Herero, destroying most of primitive Herero culture of that time. The bloody campaign resulted in 30,000 civilian deaths, as 25,000 soldiers kept going on they conquered half of namibia, and parts of Botswana.
Makjavagantaiandrianmpandramenitra paid his attention east, Driving his forces to conquer all of modern day Botswana, as well as parts in modern-day South Africa.
Battle of Siyabuswa
The Battle of Siyabuswa, in Siyabuswa, South Africa commenced in 978 AD. 12,000 Javan men, of which 1,000 were Va battled against 5,000 Bantus. Makjavagantaiandrianmpandramenitra attempted to directly attack them on the flat terrain, allowing the Bantus to defend. As it was custom, Makjavagantaiandrianmpandramenitra was at the front of the line.
This caused Makjavagantaiandrianmpandramenitra's death in Siyabuswa in 978, ending the first reign of Trio Java. Renowned as a god, back in Lucala 2 days later his son Mogotsi succeed, becoming Makjavagantaiandrianmpandramenitra II.
Despite his reforms, he was actually seen as very conservative, only reusing older tactics as such in battles, and using old methods of rulers such as great autonomy. Unfortunately, an old man his battle abilities were no longer as good as it was back in his early reign, and thus it was foolish of him to initiate the battle. Known for his risks, he is the hero of Java, and many follow his principles. He died around ages 86 – 95.
Due to the death of Makjavagantaiandrianmpandramenitra II, the empire died and was split up by the European conquerors.
Modern Day
Despite being wiped off the face of the earth for over hundreds of years as of 2021 AD, the idea of a reunited kingdom of Trio Java still remains in the hearts of many Botswanans, Namibians, and Angolans, with some even considering themselves to be ethnically Trio Javans and worshipping the three gods in the Trio Java pantheon. It is now up to you to reform Trio Java and reunite the people that still worship the gods from so long ago.
(I added some stuff, so the timeline makes more sense)
Chapter 4: Conclusion
If you had read all of that lore (Please do, it's really well written, whether or not the lore's created by Hyperant), you now know that Trio Java should've never been removed, as it was extremely well thought up and took a lot of effort to put in the game. The nation of Trio Java shall live on in out hearts, forever being a testament of the rebellious nature of formables back in RON's infant stages.
Though it started out as a formable for Botswana, a fictional one, and was removed shamefully, it is still remembered as one of the best fictional formables in the history of Rise of Nations. It had been ridiculed, it had been loved, but it is now gone.
Long live Trio Java.
