The '''Adal Sultanate''' , or the Adal Empire or the ʿAdal or the Bar Saʿad dīn (alt. spelling Adel Sultanate, Adal Sultanate) (Somali: Saldanadda Cadal) was a medieval Sunni Muslim Empire which was located in the Horn of Africa. It was founded by Sabr ad-Din II after the fall of the Sultanate of Ifat. The kingdom flourished circa 1415 to 1577. The sultanate and state were established by the local inhabitants of Zeila. or the Harar plateau. At its height, the polity under Sultan Badlay controlled the territory stretching from Somaliland to the port city of Suakin in Sudan. The Adal Empire maintained a robust commercial and political relationship with the Ottoman Empire. The Fall of the Adal Sultanate was primarily caused due to the Ethiopian-Adal War* Even With Ottoman Support the Adal Sultanate couldn't Defeat the Ethiopian Portuguese Forces and eventually fell in 1543. *if you are looking for the Ethiopian Adal War Click the link right here.

Strategy[]
To form the Adal Sultanate, you need to play as Somaliland, which is a releasable from Somalia. The fastest way to achieve this is to play as Somalia and justify a liberation war with any country so you can liberate Somaliland. After you've released and chose Somaliland, change your ideology to Socialism and your conscription law to Limited for more manpower. Start justifying on
Djibouti and
Eritrea, then conscript some infantry. When the justification is over, declare war on them and annex them. Then justify and declare war on
Ethiopia; make at least 70,000 infantry and conquer the nearest mountainous city so you lose less infantry, then circulate a line and activate auto-capture; make sure to avoid directly capturing square cities manually, as it drain the division's health. When only the square cities are remaining, you can force peace Ethiopia and form the Adal Sultanate.
