— Description of forming African Union |
The African Union is a formable that can be formed by any nation of Africa . It covers of course the entire African continent, in addition to Asia
due to the Sinai Peninsula. It is arguably one of the most powerful formables in the game, with rich resource deposits and access to Europe, as well as North and South America. This nation also has a lot of cities.

Pan-Africanism is a worldwide movement that aims to encourage and strengthen bonds of solidarity between all indigenous and diasporas of African ancestry. Based on a common goal dating back to the Atlantic slave trade, the movement extends beyond continental Africans with a substantial support base among the African diaspora in the Americas and Europe. Pan-Africanism can be said to have its origins in the struggles of the African people against enslavement and colonization and this struggle may be traced back to the first resistance on slave ships—rebellions and suicides—through the constant plantation and colonial uprisings and the "Back to Africa" movements of the 19th century. Based on the belief that unity is vital to economic, social, and political progress, it aims to "unify and uplift" people of African ancestry. At its core, Pan-Africanism is a belief that "African people, both on the continent and in the diaspora, share not merely a common history, but a common destiny." Pan-Africanist intellectual, cultural, and political movements tend to view all Africans and descendants of Africans as belonging to a single "race" or otherwise sharing cultural unity.[citation needed] Pan-Africanism posits a sense of a shared historical fate for Africans in the Americas, the West Indies, and on the continent, itself centered on the Atlantic trade in slaves, African slavery, and European imperialism. Pan-African thought influenced the establishment of the Organisation of African Unity (since succeeded by the African Union) in 1963. The African Union Commission has its seat in Addis Ababa and the Pan-African Parliament has its seat in Midrand, Johannesburg.
Economy and manpower[]
The African Union has an income of 33.6 million, 27 million from tax, 5.8 million from resources. It has a manpower cap of 13.7 million. (the numbers may differ, depending on your buildings, policies, and more.)
It also produces the following resources:

Geography[]
The African Union controls the entire continent of Africa, as well as the Sinai Peninsula in Asia (part of Egypt), making it a transcontinental country. Africa is comprised of 2 biomes. The Arid biome is present in the north, in the form of the Sahara Desert.
Somalia,
Madagascar and
Namibia alongside their neighbors also have the Arid biome. Much of the Congo as well as the Gold Coast has the Jungle biome. A lot of terrain near the Horn of Africa is hilly/semi-mountainous/mountainous.
Strategy[]
The 3 easiest countries to play as are Egypt,
Nigeria and
South Africa. Immediately rush the construction of several tanks. If you are playing as
Egypt, train your tanks for Arid Specialization. If you are playing the latter two countries, train your tanks for Jungle Specialization. Beware of any countries that requires land in Africa, they can be a hard to fight, due to the most common countries being taken, have lots of land in the Sahara Desert. You can ask them to cede their piece of land or wait out till they leave. Do not fight them, as the likelihood of them having control of the waters between Europe and Africa are huge.
Chad[]
Forming the African Union as Chad is required to unlock the Rebel skin, although this can be very difficult and is recommended for more experienced players. Start the game by justifying on Central African Republic and
Niger. If
Nigeria is a player forming will be much more difficult as they need your country to form the
Sokoto Caliphate, but with some decent skill and/or Aircraft you can attempt to combat their invasions, or attempt to form an alliance with them. After
Nigeria is dealt with, invade
South Sudan and
Cameroon. After they are dealt with, you should focus on invading more into the south such as invading into
Democratic Republic of the Congo. If they are a player, invade in the east instead. After part of South/East Africa is finished you should invade into West Africa and form the
Kanem Empire. After you have finished most of Africa expand completely into the south and form the
United States of Latin Africa. If
South Africa is a player you can use Naval Warfare to weaken their army and attempt to finish them off. After expanding into the south you should conquer North Africa so Europe does not take it, now that you have taken the north it should be pretty easy to take the rest of Africa.
Egypt[]
To prevent European countries from taking needed countries in north Africa, first justify on Sudan and
Libya. Invade them. Then invade
Tunisia and
Algeria. Your next targets could be
Niger and
Chad. Then
Mali,
Morocco, and
Mauritania. Then take
Senegal and
South Sudan. Your threats to this are Europeans, as mentioned before, and
Nigeria, trying to form
Sokoto Caliphate. If Europe is giving you a hard time every match, you may want to expand into the Balkans in order to get more power and try to combat them. Next you should go south. This should be relatively easy with your only threat is a
Democratic Republic of the Congo or
South Africa player. Next you must invade the rest of Africa.
Nigeria[]
Justify on Cameroon and
Chad and invade them. Form the
Sokoto Caliphate. After that take
Algeria and start the North African conquest. If
Egypt is a player take them down with tanks and artillery. After that it should be easy after taking Central Africa and Southern Africa unless
South Africa is a player, if so your tanks and artillery from before should help combat them, as well as a navy.
South Africa[]
Justify on Lesotho and
Eswatini and then
Botswana and
Namibia while making consumer factories if you can, and then after invade
Zimbabwe and
Mozambique. After you form the
South African Union, you can take on
Madagascar,
Comoros,
Mayotte,
Mauritius, and the
Seychelles. Now that you own most of the south, it will be easy to take on the
Democratic Republic of the Congo,
Angola and
Malawi. Now your only threat so far is North Africa, such as if
Egypt took the Middle East, if they are a player. Then go for
Zambia. Soon you can take North Africa easily and the rest of Africa. If any European countries interfere you may need to build a strong navy and/or air force to combat them.
Democratic Republic of Congo/Angola[]
Justify on Republic of Congo and
Gabon, build one electronics factory, one steel factory and a motor factory anywhere (Buy the resources necessary). You should get tanks at the earliest and train your troops for jungle specialization, and sell the electronics to AI nations. After the justification is done, declare war on
Republic of Congo (It's recommended to wait a little bit as their troops will be weakened by trying to capture your capital city.) and use AI Luring to take their troops. Take their capital, split your home guard into 5 units (Each with 20k) and auto capture. Do the same with
Gabon,
Equatorial Guinea and
Sao Tome and Principe. Take
Zambia (and
Tanzania if you're Angola), then make a fresh unit of 80-100k in Goma or Bukavu (East D. R. C.) and declare war on
Rwanda and
Burundi. After you're done with them justify on
Angola/
Democratic Republic of the Congo and use the same strategy with
Republic of Congo.
If D. R. C is AI (As Angola)[]
Make 2 divisions of 80-100k infantry and 600-1k tanks, put 1 Cabinda and 1 in Dundo. Declare war, capture Matadi and lure their troops, Make the 2nd division capture Lubumbashi and auto-capture, then make the 1st capture Kinshasa (the capital) and auto-capture.
If D. R. C is a player[]
WIP
If Nigeria is AI[]
If Nigeria is AI then you're pretty lucky as they're almost always a player. Take Cameroon and
Chad quickly before they possibly become a player and form the
United States of Latin Africa, giving you a good stability boost. If you want a nice chunk of money, oil and resources then declare war on
Nigeria, Take Abuja with your tanks and infantry to lure their home guard. After they've been decimated by your troops, Take Kano and auto-capture.
Tip: If you can't take Lagos then take as many cities until you can force peace Nigeria and take all their cities.
If Nigeria is a player[]
WIP
Conquest of the West[]
After Nigeria, justify on the rest of the
Gold Coast nations and mass declare war on them.
Mauritania,
Mali,
Niger should be a cake walk. There is, however another possible threat which is
Spain. They almost always invade
Morocco and maybe
Algeria.
If they have Morocco (or any North African nation), try to negotiate with them (they might ask for money so research economic improvements and develop cities). If they don't accept, you're going to have to deal with them later.
The topic of 'Dealing with Spain' will come back later as you've got to conquer more nations. Breeze through the Horn of Africa (
Ethiopia might possibly be a player, but they'll most likely be easy to deal with) and the East African countries. Take the
Comoros so you'll have a base near
Madagascar and
South Africa. After you've taken
Mozambique or
Zambia you'll come across a new threat.
South Africa, this is not a threat like
Nigeria. At this point in the game, they would've become a regional power (If they're not AI).
If South Africa is AI[]
First take the nations surrounding it, then lure their troops into your entrenched forces and obliterate them. Then click auto-capture and wait until they collapse. If you can't take Johannesburg or any big cities then do the same strategy with AI Nigeria.
If South Africa is a player[]
At this point in the game they would've become a regional power already. So spawn artillery and more tanks and infantry, make some Destroyers and Battleships if they have units stationed in coastal areas.
WIP (Feel free to fill this with your own strategies in)
The Islands and the North[]
Take Madagascar and those other islands (Take
Mayotte and
Reunion for extra money) and we can move on the the North
If no countries have taken the North African nations, well... just take them! After taking most of the north, there's a possibility of Egypt being another threat.
If Egypt is AI[]
Take Alexandria and Cairo, then just spread your troops and auto-capture.
If Egypt is a player[]
Now if they aren't AI they'll probably cede their land because you are currently huge. But they'll probably not and just accept a fight with you.
This wont be that hard (If they are small, that is). Make artillery to slowly kill their troops (Research support attack before this) and try to submarine bait them. Make bombers to demolish any forts that they've made They'll probably run out of manpower and you can just breeze through their country.
(Someone please expand this a bit)
Now you've formed the African Union!

Trivia[]
- Forming the African Union as
Chad unlocks the Rebel Skin.
- The African Union is considered to be one of the largest formables in the game in terms of territorial size.
- Since Africa as a whole produces an abundance of diverse minerals, the African Union generates every natural resource in the game.
- The African Union doesn't own all of Africa, because
Spain owns the
Canary Islands and two cities named Ceuta and Melilla from Africa.
Mayotte and
Reunion are not required because they are overseas territory of
France in real life and
Saint Helena is also not required as it is an overseas territory of the
United Kingdom in real life.
