Background[]

Afsharid Iran, also referred as the Afsharid Dynasty, was a Turkic empire established by the Afshar tribe, an Azerbaijani sub-ethnic group, in Iran's north-eastern province of Khorasan, ruling Iran (Persia). The state was ruled by the Afsharid dynasty in the mid-eighteenth century. The dynasty was founded in 1736 by the brilliant military commander Nader Shah, who deposed the last member of the Safavid dynasty and proclaimed himself as the Shah of Iran.
During Nader's reign, Iran reached its greatest extent since the Sasanian Empire. At its height it controlled modern-day Iran, Armenia, Georgia, Republic of Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, and parts of Iraq, Pakistan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Oman and the North Caucasus (Dagestan). After his death, most of his empire was divided between the Zands, Durranis, Georgians, and the Caucasian khanates, while Afsharid rule was confined to a small local state in Khorasan. Finally, the Afsharid dynasty was overthrown by Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar in 1796, who would establish a new native Iranian empire and restore Iranian suzerainty over several of the aforementioned regions. The dynasty was named after the Turkoman Afshar tribe from Khorasan in north-east Iran, to which Nader belonged. The Afshars had originally migrated from Turkestan to Azerbaijan (Iranian Azerbaijan) in the 13th century. In the early 17th century, Abbas the Great moved many Afshars from Azerbaijan to Khorasan to defend the north-eastern borders of his state against the Uzbeks, after which the Afshars settled in those regions. Nader belonged to the Qereqlu branch of the Afshars. |
Terrain and Biome[]
Most of the Afsharid Dynasty is Arid; the only exceptions are the Caucasus countries, Tajikistan, and a bit of eastern Uzbekistan. Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and the Caucasus countries are mountainous.
Strategy[]
No player Iran.[]
- Create 1 Electronics Factories in Baku. Once the factory is near completion, purchase 2.1
Copper and 1
Gold from a nation that isn't likely to be invaded (
Chile is great for the resources). Research Factory Output I and II to ensure you get the most profit. Once you have your
Electronics quickly sell them to AI nations before other players do.
- Justify on
Armenia and
Georgia. Create troops using most of your manpower, apply the Specialization doctrine and choose the Mountain Specialization route as most of the land around you are Mountainous.
- Declare war on both
Armenia and
Georgia and then justify on
Turkmenistan and
Uzbekistan as Russia will try and invade them for
Russian Empire or
Soviet Union.
- Once you have finished off
Armenia and
Georgia form
Transcaucasia for the extra stability. Create more infantry and train them for the Arid environment.
- Create a
Steel and
Motor Parts factory, placing one each in Yerevan and Tbilisi. Purchase the necessary resources needed for the factories. Create tanks in Baku and train them with Arid specialization.
- Begin your invasion on
Turkmenistan, your troops may get attrition walking through the arid environment. Justify on
Tajikistan and
Iraq.
- Invade
Uzbekistan and
Tajikistan. Once you are finished with them attempt to ally
Turkey so you can walk through their land to get to
Iraq, if this fails you can walk through
Turkey taking attrition. Declare on
Iraq and begin the invasion.
- Justify on
Kuwait and
United Arab Emirates. By now you should have enough political power to become Nationalist.
- Declare on
Kuwait and
United Arab Emirates and justify on
Afghanistan and
Oman.
- Declare war on both Afghanistan and Oman. Try and become Fascist as soon as possible in order to get the 3rd Justify War slot. Justify on
Qatar and
Bahrain. If you have the third justify slot you can finally justify on
Iran. Optional: Create an
Aircraft Parts Manufactory and purchase the necessary resources. Aircraft parts will be useful in creating transport aircrafts to get around Iran more efficiently.
- Create tanks and infantry with Arid specialization on your
Iraqi front, on your
Transcaucasian front create infantry with the Mountainous specialization and do the same on your
Afghan and Central Asian fronts.
- Declare war on
Iran and lure their troops into your entrenched troops. After you have done that begin your invasion, it might take a bit with the attrition, to combat this get a military leader with the mountainous modifier. Additionally, if you made transport aircraft, send them straight to Tehran.
- If you completed the invasion of
Iran, form the
Afsharid Dynasty and enjoy your new flag.
Economy and Military[]
the net income of the Afsharid Dynasty is 3,170,421. 1,980 manpower is earned every turn and the manpower cap is 1,979,494.
the Afsharid Dynasty produces the following resources:
Resource | Quantity |
---|---|
Aluminum | 1 |
Chromium | 2 |
Copper | 6.55 |
Gold | 13 |
Iron | 10.5 |
Oil | 58 |
Phosphate | 3.5 |
Tungsten | 4 |
Uranium | 0.5 |
Threats[]
Russia is your biggest threat, as they need you and a lot of your required countries to form The
Soviet Union or the
Russian Empire.
Iran can also be a threat, as they need you for
Persian Empire, and a lot of their formables require your required countries. Another obvious reason is that if they are a player, they will be hard to take over.
India and
Pakistan are a threat, as they require
Afghanistan to form the
Maurya Empire and the
Mughal Empire respectively.
Trivia[]
- The Afsharid Dynasty's flag looks like the
