The aircraft carrier (AC or CV)[1] is a naval unit and one of the two capital ships, alongside the battleship. The carrier serves as the flagship of the fleet due to its strategic value and extensive capabilities.

Usages[]

The aircraft carrier boasts an impressive strike range, reaching up to 525 kilometers (approximately the size of the British Isles), giving it extensive capabilities in various naval operations. It functions as a mobile airbase for aerial units, enabling them to refuel and carry out missions. The carrier can engage in surface and maritime bombardment, effectively targeting and neutralizing enemy ground divisions, naval fleets, (especially escort shipsdestroyers and frigates), and aircraft.

Although the aircraft carrier possesses various capabilities, it is ineffective in close-quarters combat against enemy ships due to its limited durability, which makes it vulnerable to direct strikes. Aircraft carriers are also particularly susceptible to submarines, which cannot be damaged within the carrier's range and have the capacity to swiftly sink capital warships. Consequently, it is crucial for aircraft carriers to be constantly accompanied by other support vessels to ensure their protection.

Strengths and Weaknesses[]

The submarine is the only naval unit that does not take damage within the carrier's range, marking it effective for sinking the ship.

Costs[]

The aircraft carrier is the most expensive ship to manufacture and maintain in terms of resources and money, requiring 25 units of Steel and 10 Aircraft Parts for production, while consuming 30 units of Oil for operation. The total production cost is $250,000,000, with an upkeep of $4,200,000.

As a capital ship, the aircraft carrier can only be built in a Shipyard II, which itself requires the construction of Shipyard I, further increasing the overall cost of acquiring the carrier.

Work in Progress.
