Geography[]

Angevin terrain
The Angevin Empire is mostly flat with some exceptions. It's Semi-Mountainous in Scotland, and at the border with Spain. It is also Hilly in its territories in south-eastern France.
During the months of November and February, the empire is affected by Mild Winter in Scotland. This later turns into Severe Winter during December and January and its territories south get affected by Mild Winter. It is not affected by winter under the area generally below Paris, with the area around its border with Italy being an exception.
Borders[]
The Angevin Empire borders:
Threats[]
Largest to smallest.
- A skilled
France player could be able to defend or even invade the
United Kingdom, often building up navies before they can. It also may want to form the
Franco-British Union, and could attack you first, so it is important to keep yourself ready for the unexpected when it comes to forming.
- An expansionist
Germany,
Spain, or
Italy could take
France first. In many servers,
France is an easy nation to take over to enter other areas in Europe. It is important you capture the nation quickly, or secure deals with expansionist nations wanting to take it.
- The
United States may attack the land as a base of operations in Europe, usually to spam troops or tanks. It is important you secure deals and/or take the land before they can invade it.
Strategy[]
The Angevin Empire isn't impossible to form, and it can be achieved rather easily if the player has their economy in check and their military quickly built up at the start of the game. The player should also focus all of their research points in the Research tree in the Technology tab.
Starting Moves[]
First, you should build 1 electronic factory, 1 steel factory, 1 motor factory, 1 fertilizer factory, and 2 consumer goods factories. Make sure to buy all the resources needed for your factories via trading. Once the factories are constructed, you should sell all additional electronics and fertilizer that won't be used for making consumer goods to AI nations. Any additional consumer goods should also be sold to AI nations once your consumer goods factories are done construction.
Next, you should justify conquest on and attack Isle of Man,
Jersey,
Guernsey, and
Ireland. You will not need Isle of Man, Jersey, or Guernsey, however the treasury seized from it will allow you to fund their war against France. Do not have any allies attack France. Enact the press censorship policy, and raise taxes to high. Adjust spending accordingly.
It is recommended to not spend all the money you get from seizing treasury right away, if you spend too much you will likely get into debt later on since it is likely the war with France will put you in a large deficit.
French War[]
France is usually not actually that hard to beat, however do not overestimate or underestimate your opponent.
- Construct 2 destroyers, 1 battleship, and 1 submarine.
- Justify conquest on France, while doing this construct around 3k tanks or more.
- Attack France.
- Send in your navy to bombard Paris, if the battleship cannot reach Paris, that is okay. Send your tanks to capture Paris, if they catch attrition, then you need to capture a city and then wait for attrition to wear off.
- Split your tanks into two divisions and flank French troops.
- Once Paris is captured, use your navy to bombard even more of France's troops. If France has no army left, quickly capture the rest of their territory with your tanks before they can raise another army. If the French have already created massive amounts of troops, retreat your tanks within your battleship's range and wait for France's troops to attack you and die. Once all of France's troops have died from attacking you, split up all your tanks and set them to auto-capture.
- Once France has collapsed/capitulated, you should then annex all of their land.
Congratulations! You have formed the Angevin Empire.
Trivia[]
- The Angevin Empire’s flag is the Royal Banner of the Plantagenets. The three lions are still present today on the United Kingdom's coat of arms, where they quarter the arms of Scotland and Ireland.
