The anti aircraft (AA) is a ground unit used to effectively counter enemy aircraft. It is only capable as defensive purposes, as it is not designed to perform in close-quarters combat with other ground units, such as infantry or tanks.
Both the artillery and anti aircraft fall under the 'Support' category and share similar characteristics. However, the key distinction lies in the purpose of anti aircraft units, which is specifically designed to counter and crush air superiority.
A single anti aircraft division cost $15,000,000 and 2,500 manpower for production, and has an upkeep of $64,000.
Usage[]
Anti Aircraft is not commonly used by most players, as the unit is inefficient in direct combat. However, it's very effective especially in large portions. 5 divisions, (with each division comprised of 10 units), are recommended for rapid eradication of planes.
Anti Aircraft are primarily treated as defense, since they should be stationed in key locations that would be targeted by bombers, such as metropolitan cities, factories, the capital city, and more.
If you are transporting large divisions of infantry or tanks during a war, against another country that has aircraft, anti aircraft is convenient for escorting as support, since attackers can inflict heavy damage to unprotected squadrons.
Anti aircraft is the only device capable of mitigating the aircraft carrier's bombardment damage towards ground units that are in its range. However, if multiple anti-aircraft divisions cover a ground unit within the bombardment range, the damage reduction will not increase. The reduction modifier will remain the same as that of a single division (10 anti aircraft).
When ground units are near anti-aircraft, the aircraft carrier's damage is divided by 5.
The anti aircraft is the only ground unit that is completely immune from aircraft carrier bombardment.

Arid Specialization: "Our military will be geared towards fighting along the hot and dry lands." (Arid)
Winter Specialization: "Our military will be geared towards fighting along the freezing cold lands." (Mild Winter, Severe Winter, and Arctic)
Jungle Specialization: "Our military will be geared towards fighting under the dense jungle covers." (Jungle)
Mountain Specialization: "Our military will be geared towards fighting along the rough and tough hilly and mountainous terrain." (Hilly, Semi-Mountainous, and Mountainous)
All doctrines are exclusive among each other, but they all cost 250military power to implement, along with boosting attack within their respective terrain or biome.
