Argentina is a Tier V nation located in South America . Argentina can be a powerful country if used correctly, but Brazil is usually there to keep Argentina in check. A well managed Argentina player can dominate South America and even the world, while a bad Argentina can be annexed quickly by
Brazil or even
Chile.
Background[]
Argentina is a country located mostly in the southern half of South America. Sharing the bulk of the Southern Cone with Chile to the west, the country is also bordered by
Bolivia and
Paraguay to the north,
Brazil to the northeast,
Uruguay and the South Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Drake Passage to the south. With a mainland area of 2,780,400 km2 (1,073,500 sq. mi), Argentina is the eighth-largest country in the world, the fourth largest in the Americas, the second largest in South America
after Brazil, and the largest Spanish-speaking nation by area. The sovereign state is subdivided into twenty-three provinces and one autonomous city, Buenos Aires, which is the federal capital of the nation as decided by Congress. The provinces and the capital have their own constitutions but exist under a federal system. Argentina claims sovereignty over part of
Antarctica, the
Falkland Islands, and South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.
Argentina is a developing country and ranks 46th on the Human Development Index, the second highest in Latin America after Chile. It is a regional power in Latin America and retains its historic status as a middle power in international affairs. Argentina maintains the second largest economy in South America, the third largest in Latin America, and is a member of G-15 and G20. It is also a founding member of the United Nations, World Bank, World Trade Organization, Mercosur, Community of Latin American and Caribbean States and the Organization of Libero-American States.

Geography[]

Argentina's Terrain

Argentina's Biome
Terrain[]
Argentina's terrain is Mountainous on the border with Chile and scattered with Semi-Mountainous and Hilly in the south and southeast.
Biome[]
Argentina has an Arid biome in the central and northeast portions of the country. Argentina also goes into a winter through May-June
Borders[]
It borders Chile to the west,
Uruguay to the east and
Paraguay,
Bolivia and
Brazil to the north.
Cities[]
Argentina has 126 cities, its capital and largest one being Buenos Aires, Its capital, Buenos Aires, is a South American megacity with a population of 12.8 million. Argentina has a total population of 28,176,962.
Strategy[]
As any other South American country, your biggest threat would be Brazil.
Unlike Brazil though you start as Non-Aligned, which gives you justification advantage. You should rush
Bolivia,
Chile, and
Paraguay.
Conquering Chile takes some time given its Mountainous terrain, but besides conquering
Chile you should keep an eye on your northern rivalry, as there is a chance that
Brazil will strike you directly.
Once you owned Chile you would get titanium from
Chile. And if you owned Bolivia as well you can produce tanks and are halfway to form the
Rio de la Plata.
If you're brave enough and fast enough, you can rush Uruguay before
Brazil does. I only recommend doing this when you have a skilled ally, preferably
Colombia and
Peru as they are pretty much the same tier as you are. In this case, a coordinated attack by Argentine, Peruvian and Colombian troops should be able to strike down
Brazil. After that, you can go for North America
and conquer the required nations to form
Patria Grande
Another strategy you can try is to rush Brazil by taking Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo with tanks. Take all the cities nearby and without those cities
Brazil is screwed, São Paulo is
Brazil's best city, so if you take it and all the cities nearby it,
Brazil's economy will collapse and
Brazil's Manpower would be critical.
As for Ideology, Communism is viable due to its massive manpower increase which is obviously needed if you want to stand a chance against Brazil. If you choose to play tall and defensive, Democracy can be highly effective if given enough time, without a proper setup however it falls short of the other ideologies. If you want to rush down neighboring nations and secure a strong perimeter, Fascism is the best option.
Formables[]
Rio de la Plata[]
It is a formable exclusive of Argentina that requires Argentina, Uruguay,
Chile,
Paraguay,
Bolivia and the
Falkland Islands. Its name and flag are inspired in the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata: A region previously known as the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata that declared independence from
Spain after the Argentine War of Independence, that dissolved after many wars and civil wars.
As a curiosity, this Formable used to require Brazil to form it due to the state of Rio Grande of Sul (AKA
Sul), making it very hard to form it.
Patria Grande[]
It is a formable for Spanish-speaking American Countries. it Requires all the Hispanic-American Countries, including Puerto Rico. it probably replaced
United States of South America.
Deleted Formables[]
United States of South America[]
It was a formable that included all the South American Countries (Without counting Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire and Trinidad and Tobago). it's based in the Union of South American Nations: An intergovernmental regional organization that once comprised twelve South American countries (Basically all the continent Except for French Guiana) in which many countries (including Argentina) Withdrew, leaving
Bolivia,
Venezuela,
Guyana and
Suriname as the last 4 members. It was deleted probably because of unrealism or outdating, due to the organization being replaced with Mercosur, another South American Alliance with More Relevance Nowadays, and also supposed to being a regional formable, but failed.
Threats[]
Brazil, after conquering
Uruguay and other near nations, may come for you.
Peru, after taking
Bolivia, might come after you.
- Any nation that can form
Patria Grande can also be a threat.
