— Description when forming Australasian Federation |
The Australasian Federation is a formable of Australia and also its releasables,
Westralia and
Tasmania, located in Oceania
.
Background[]

The Federation of Australia was the process by which the six separate British self-governing colonies of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia (which also governed what is now the Northern Territory), and Western Australia agreed to unite and form the Commonwealth of Australia, establishing a system of federalism in Australia. The colonies of Fiji and New Zealand were originally part of this process, but they decided not to join the federation. Following federation, the six colonies that united to form the Commonwealth of Australia as states kept the systems of government (and the bicameral legislatures) that they had developed as separate colonies, but they also agreed to have a federal government that was responsible for matters concerning the whole nation. When the Constitution of Australia came into force, on 1 January 1901, the colonies collectively became states of the Commonwealth of Australia. The efforts to bring about federation in the mid-19th century were dogged by the lack of popular support for the movement. A number of conventions were held during the 1890s to develop a constitution for the Commonwealth. Sir Henry Parkes, Premier of the Colony of New South Wales, was instrumental in this process. Sir Edmund Barton, second only to Parkes in the length of his commitment to the federation cause, was the caretaker Prime Minister of Australia at the inaugural national election in March 1901. The election returned Barton as prime minister, though without a majority. |
Base Statistics[]
Economy[]
The income of the Australasian Federation is at least around $1,107,731. The tax revenue has a major influence of the economy at most $1,067,129 while only the resource income can produce a small tip of $40,602. It should also be worth noting that the majority of the tax income starts off from Australia followed by
New Zealand. Australasia also has a population of 23,955,557.
Resources[]
Australasia controls a notable amount of Uranium,
Oil,
Iron, and
Diamond reserves as well as many other resources when it is formed.

Geography[]

Australasian Terrain

Australasian Biome
For the most part, the parts of the western side and the vast majority of the east coast of Australia along with some of eastern side of
New Zealand are Hilly. There are only two of the Semi-Mountainous spots that can be found like the South Island in New Zealand and the small pocket region inside Australia in the south west.
The only noticeable biome only in Australia is the Arid desert covering up mostly Westralia and with contact with the southern and western sea borders of Australia.
Cities[]
The Australasian Federation has a total of 184 cities and 7 square cities. Its largest city is Sydney with a base population of 4,630,000 people. Its second largest city is Melbourne with 4,170,000 people and third being Brisbane with 1,860,000 people.
Threats to Formation[]
Indonesia could be aggressive.
- A good
New Zealand player could throw a wrench into the player's plans.
- If playing as
Tasmania or
Westralia,
Australia could attempt to reintegrate the player, and you would have a lot more land to annex to form.
Strategy[]
As Australia[]
This is a moderately hard formable since having lack of troops against single-city islands will prove worthless as entrenchment will take your troops down to the ground, for example, you have 100,000 troops against a island country which has one city, they will defeat you still because of entrenchment, so I will try to advise you a strategy, first justify war on New Zealand and specialize your troops in mountainous training as
New Munster west coast is Semi-Mountainous, it is recommend to make more divisions so you can take
New Zealand easily, after that justify war on
Norfolk Island, and take it, after that justify war on
Niue and
Cook Islands, and after they are finished, justify war on
Fiji, and declare war on
Fiji first and invade a city except their capital because they are entrenched and will easily take your forces down, after taking a city then luring them and wiping them out, you must take
Fiji's cities then after that, invade
Niue with a lot of troops as they are entrenched and after taking them out, recover and recruit more troops to finally take
Cook Islands, then you can form the
Australasian Federation!
As Westralia[]
Liberation[]
Because you are a releasable, you obviously need to release all the countries as Australia. Declare a liberation war on
New Zealand, which the terrain can be completely combatted with Mountainous training. Use the AI luring technique, and wait for the home guard to completely die to your troops. Then, auto-capture all of New Zealand, and once you capture everything, liberate
Westralia, and
Tasmania. Now, you are done with 25% of the formable. Remember as Westralia to always develop your cities as much as you can. Your manpower should come naturally.
Surround Australia[]
You have an income of 175K, but you need to invade multiple island nations, of Norfolk Island,
Niue,
Cook Islands, and
Fiji, so you need a destroyer to kill their home guard. The upkeep is 250K, so you should develop all of your cities, and build recruitment centers. Declare conquest on
Tasmania, and get 10,000 infantry. Train those infantry for Mountainous. Then, you should also declare conquest on
New Zealand. Once the justification is done, declare war on both of the nations. Because of the populations of the countries, you may gain a lot of tax. Since you defeated New Zealand's home guards, you should have no trouble invading both of the nations (unless your troops die from capturing). Once you've done that, annex all their cities, and seize 75% of their resources and treasury. You can do stricter terms, but those are the most beneficial terms. Then, you should have enough income for a destroyer, which can help you invade the island nations.
Tiny Island Invasion[]
Your next step should be to invade Fiji. It is the only "island" nation that has multiple cities, so you can use AI luring to help. Declare conquest on
Niue as well, as it has the lowest population. Do not declare war on Niue just yet though. Once your declaration of war on Fiji is done, declare war on them, and send at least 20,000 troops to Labasa, Fiji. Once your troops arrive, wait for the AI to attack your troops. They should lose after this, because you have entrenched troops. Send the common terms, and you are done with Fiji. Build a destroyer if you have enough income, and declare war on Niue. Send your destroyer there, and wait for the homeguard to lose. You should build a military group with a commodore and assign them to a navy group. Assign your destroyer to the navy group, and max out your Light Flotilla doctrine. Once the homeguard is done, send 10,000 troops to take Alofi. Then, you have 2 tiny islands to invade:
Norfolk Island and
Cook Islands. You should invade Norfolk Island, as it has a lower population. Do the same procedure, kill the homeguard with a destroyer, and then invade it with your infantry. This should be the procedure for every 1-city island nation. Do the same for Cook Islands, and you are done with surrounding Australia.
Operation Australia[]
Australia has one of the harshest terrains, with the coastal areas being predominantly Hilly, and the Outback being Arid. Australia is predominantly Arid, so you should train your troops for Arid. Make an army group with a desert fox leader if it's available, and use this doctrine path: Specialization > Adaptability > Arid Specialization > Advanced Training to have the best possible military for Australia. Since all of your troops are trained for Arid, you should train for Mountainous, because Australia only has 2 biomes: Hilly and Arid. Use all of your manpower reserves and convert them into infantry. Train them all for mountainous, and it should end up in you owning all of Australia. Make the common peace treaty, and then you should own all of the cities required. Congratulations, you now have formed Australasia with
Westralia!
As Tasmania[]
Forming the Australasian Federation as Tasmania is one of the most challenging things to do, but it's pretty simple if you know how to play all the cards.
Liberation[]
First, you need to play as Australia to form this. Justify "liberation" on
New Zealand, and invade it using the AI Luring technique. Then, concede the terms to liberate
Tasmania and
Westralia. Then, play as
Tasmania. You are now 1/6 of the way done.
New Zealand and Australia[]
Next, you should invade New Zealand. It has a square city, and you should've defeated its homeguard at the start of the game. Make as much infantry as you can and train them all for Mountainous training. You may need to buy manpower. Then, declare the conquest invasion on New Zealand. Once you invade them, you should have enough manpower and money to invade Australia. Invading
Australia is something that you need good strategy and skill for. You should have a huge sum of money. Australia is Hilly and Arid. Get Arid specialization and your troops are already trained for Mountainous. Declare conquest on
Westralia and
Australia, and then invade them. Your training should make it easy to auto-capture all of Australia. Australia has rich
Oil reserves, so you should buy a destroyer so you can take the island nations.
Island Nations[]
Now that you've taken the listed countries, you can now take the extra countries. Buy 1 destroyer, and destroy the homeguard of the nations you needed to invade, and once the homeguard has been downed, send your infantry to the islands, and you should be able to form.
Trivia[]
- Its existence has been so significant that several landmarks have been named after the federation! Some are Federation Peak, Tasmania, Federation Square, Melbourne, Victoria and more.
