Austria is a Tier III nation located in Central Europe

Austria can wipe out an unskilled German or Italian player's army very quickly. Austria, while not being too common of a choice by players or having many capabilities as a nation, is still a decent choice of a nation to play as.

The area that is today Austria was occupied by Celtic tribes for much of its early history until it was conquered by the On 1276, Rudolf I became the first Habsburg to rule Austria. This was the start of the Habsburg Empire which would rule Austria for the next 750 years. During this time, Austria would become an Archduchy within the On 1804, the Austrians would proclaim themselves an empire, and abandon the title of Holy Roman Emperor because of Napoleon-related causes. After the Napoleonic Wars, drastic change had came across Europe. The rise of the First French Empire ( Revolutions inside the On 28 June 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, would be assassinated. Franz Ferdinand had advocated for granting greater autonomy to other ethnic groups within the empire, and nationalist groups that wanted to free Bosnia from Austro-Hungarian control would prevent this altogether, and soon after his death, came WWI. World War I would essentially destroy the Austro-Hungarian Empire and would wipe its armies, cause ethnic tensions, and dissolve the empire even before it was officially dissolved. After the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the empire had split into many different nations so that they would never unite and become a strong force in Europe again. On 1938, Austria was annexed into Germany as part of WWII. Most of Austria's Jewish population was killed or forced to leave in the holocaust. This went on until the war was over in 1945. Austria was divided up after the war and did not become a fully independent country again until a treaty was signed in Vienna on October 25, 1955. Starting Moves[]
Moving your troops to the mountains instead
Moving your troops to Vienna
When you first start as Austria, you want to immediately create as many infantry as you can. Move them to either Vienna (more risky but will allow you to fight back) or to one of the cities in the mountains (not advised for survival). Once you do this, build fortifications inside the city that you have moved your troops to, and then build all the factories you need inside that city. These factories should be: electronic factories, motor factories, steel factories, and an aircraft manufactory. Make sure to also sell your electronics after they have been constructed as well.
Enact the press censorship policy and then move your military doctrine to massed attack. Make sure to also raise your taxes to high, and make government spending low or higher. Justify conquest on both Czech Republic and Slovenia.
Defense Against Germany[]
The first threat early on in the game is Germany, as they usually annex Austria to expand east. You will need to have Germany not attack you, or have strong allies that will make Germany back off or allies that will defeat Germany in the case of an invasion. The best allies to fend off Germany are: Italy, 
France, and 
United Kingdom. Having 
Russia as an ally would be great as well, however this wouldn't be too helpful as Russia is far away from Germany at the start of the game.
If Germany has decided to ally you or your allies have intimidated Germany into backing off, skip this strategy and pursue your ambitions.
- If Germany decides to attack you anyway, you should create 100 or 50 artillery and hide them behind your armies to make sure they do not get wiped out by German forces.
- Wait for Germany to invade you using their infantry, and try to get your allies to invade Germany as well. You will have to depend on Germany not being a skilled player for the plan to work, otherwise your survival will be dependent on your allies.
- While Germany is invading you, create tanks in Vienna.
- Once Germany's armies are wiped out, use your tanks to take Berlin, and then the rest of Germany if your allies have not already taken it.
Holy Roman Reascension[]
The Holy Roman Empire was dissolved centuries ago in the Napoleonic Wars, and Austria had many times housed the emperors of this empire. Although neither holy, roman, nor an empire, perhaps it should be reunited under Austria again.
It is not recommended to do this if you have not defended against Germany and taken all their land or are going to restore the Habsburg Empire.
German Offensive[]
If you have not defended against Germany and Germany has decided not to invade you, fret not! You are given the time to prepare a proper offensive against Germany, and you will have the advantage of surprise! While doing this, justify conquest on the rest of the nations you need for the Holy Roman Empire if possible.
- Create an aircraft manufactory, aircraft will make things extremely easier against Germany. While doing this, make the maximum amount of tanks you can in Vienna and fortify the city if you haven't already.
- Create around 3 attackers and 3 fighters (to ensure Germany doesn't gain any sort of aerial capabilities).
- Justify conquest on Germany and then attack them. Allow them to attack your armies while using your air-force to prevent them from many any planes and to weaken all troops that try to attack Vienna.
- If they have not attacked you or their armies have died trying to take Vienna, send your tanks to Berlin and once it is captured, spread out all your tanks and set them to auto-capture.
- Once Germany has collapsed, peace out for all the terms possible.
Retaking the Rest of the Empire[]
Once you have retaken all of Germany, make sure to attack all the nations you need for the Holy Roman Empire. If France has taken one of these nations, you will have to deal with them.
If France Taken Holy Roman Land[]
France may have taken 
Belgium or Switzerland while you were busy capturing Germany. If France has done this, perhaps it is time to take the historical role of Germany and invade France.
- Prepare around 3k tanks to invade France. Make sure your air-force is prepared and recruit any amount of artillery.
- Justify conquest on France and immediately attack them after.
- Send your air-force to weaken all their forces in Paris and immediately send your tanks to capture Paris. Move artillery to bombard Paris as well. If France has tried to create more troops to stop you in Paris, create more tanks in Germany and flank their troops if they send them to stop your tanks in Paris.
- Once Paris has been taken, blitzkrieg across French land and annex the territories you need for the Holy Roman Empire.
Restoring the Habsburg Empire[]
If Germany has been repelled, then attack Czech Republic and Slovenia as soon as possible and take them over using tanks. Do the same with the rest of the Austro-Hungarian Empire/Austrian Empire.
Italian Conquest[]
Italy owns two cities at the start of the game, and may also take Slovenia and Croatia when they are a player. Thankfully, they are only occasionally a player, however if they decide to take over land in the Balkans, it may be time to end Italy.
- Prepare around 2k tanks to invade Italy, if possible, it would be recommended to get over 3k. Create an aircraft manufactory and create 3 fighters and 3 attackers after if you haven't already gotten an air-force. If you have a few ports, then create a battleship and a destroyer.
- Justify conquest and declare war.
- Send your tanks through Italy's tiny piece of semi-mountainous terrain, once they pass through, set them all to auto-capture. Support these tanks with your air-force and use your navy to destroy their armies.
- Once they collapse, take all the land you want and peace them out!
