— Description of forming Banda Oriental |
Banda Oriental is a formable for Uruguay added as the part of the World Update release, exactly on 11th November 2022. It may be very hard to form as the formable requires
Sul, which is releasable of a major power
Brazil. After liberating the nation, it is relatively easy to fulfill requirements unless a
Brazil player wants to retake
Sul.
Background[]
Banda Oriental, also known as the Oriental Province or the Eastern Province, referred to a region in South America during the colonial period and early years of independence. It encompassed the territory that is now Uruguay.
Banda Oriental was located on the eastern bank of the Uruguay River, which served as a natural boundary between Spanish-controlled territories to the west and Portuguese-controlled territories (later Brazil) to the east. The region gained its name due to its location on the eastern side of the river.
During the colonial era, Banda Oriental was part of the Spanish Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata. The area experienced conflicts and disputes between the Spanish and Portuguese as both powers sought to control the region. Eventually, in 1821, Banda Oriental was annexed by Brazil, which had gained independence from Portugal. The Brazilian control over the region continued until 1828 when Uruguay achieved its independence after a series of conflicts and negotiations.
Terrain[]
Banda Oriental's terrain is half flat and half hilly due to Sul being hilly in major part. Uruguay is a flat country. The formable doesn't have any special biomes.
Strategy[]
Players can force Brazil to release Sul peacefully, however if it doesn't work, Uruguay may do this by force. It would require preparing to attack Brazil and it'd take huge amount of time, because Brazil is a major power, hundreds times more powerful. Another option is to ally with Argentina or any other country bordering Brazil and teaming up in order to conquer the Brazilian lands. Attacking Sul is easy if it's not played by another user, because releasables don't deploy any home guards. Additional benefit for Uruguay is, they have one square city. Hence, Uruguyans can produce tanks thus increasing their military power.
Alternate Strategy[]
When you load in as Uruguay, start turning your tax to High or Maximum (not recommended), get factory output 1 & 2 and Public Service Act Policy. Start making an electronic factory and a steel factory. Justify on Paraguay and the Falkland islands, Falkland for cash, and Paraguay for an extra square city. Make enough infantry and specialize if possible to attack Paraguay due of its length.
Conquering Paraguay
After your factories are done, start selling the electronics (3 unit per ai country, some don't accept). After peacing Falkland islands, make a motor, fertilizer and 2 civillian factories (resources needed for all factories). Make tanks and attack paraguay. Steal everything they have and get ready for the next step. Also, jungle specialize your ground units as well for next step.
Brazillian Blitzkrieg
If brazil is a player who HASN'T justified on you, fortify Montevideo (your capital) and Asunción (Paraguyan capital). Make artillery and a navy, including: 1 battleship, 2 destroyers and a submarine (Make an airforce if you can't afford a navy as well). Move your tanks to the Brazillian border and position the artillery. Make sure the fortified cities are protected with troops or tanks. When the war starts, hold defensive position until you wipe out at least half their army. Rush them down with tanks with the support of your airforce or navy. Reach their capital before they scorch. Before you do that, take most of Sul. Peace them out and there you go, you destroyed Brazil and formed Banda Oriental!
If Brazil is AI, simply make plenty of troops and artillery, assign them a military leader, and train them. Then use the AI Luring method to kill of the home guards and take over Brazil (RARE)
