Bangladesh officially the People's Republic of Bangladesh (also known as the Bengal People's Republic) is a Tier IV Nation located in South Asia bordering India on almost all sides, except for a small border with Burma in the southeast.

Despite being a relatively strong country in real life, it's usually not played by anyone, and tends to get taken out by India early on. However, a well managed Bangladesh could make colonies in other regions of Asia, and eventually stand up to even India or China.

Background[]

Modern-Day[]

Bangladesh, officially the People's Republic of Bangladesh, is a country in South Asia . It is the eighth-most populous country in the world, with a population exceeding 164 million people. In terms of landmass, Bangladesh ranks 92nd, spanning 148,460 square kilometers (57,320 sq mi), making it one of the most densely populated countries in the world. Bangladesh shares land borders with India to the west, north, and east, Burma to the southeast, and the Bay of Bengal to the south. It is narrowly separated from Nepal and Bhutan by the Siliguri Corridor, and from China by Sikkim, in the north, respectively. Dhaka, the capital and largest city, is the nation's economic, political and cultural hub. Chittagong, the largest seaport, is the second largest city.

The large Muslim population of Bangladesh makes it the third-largest Muslim-majority country. The constitution declares Bangladesh a secular state, while establishing Islam as a state religion. As a middle power in world politics, Bangladesh is a unitary parliamentary democracy and constitutional republic following the Westminster system of governance. The country is divided into eight administrative divisions and sixty-four districts. Although the country continues to face the challenges of the Rohingya refugee crisis, corruption, and the adverse effects of climate change, Bangladesh is one of the emerging and growth-leading economies of the world, and is also one of the Next Eleven countries, having Asia 'sfastest real GDP growth rate. The Bangladeshi economy is the 39th-largest in the world by nominal GDP, and the 29th-largest by PPP.

History[]

Although Bangladesh has existed as an independent country only since the late 20th century, its national character within a broader South Asian context dates to the ancient past. The country’s history, then, is intertwined with that of India, Pakistan, and other countries of the area. The land of Bangladesh, mainly a delta formed by the Padma and the Jamuna rivers in the northeastern portion of the Indian subcontinent, is protected by forests to the west and a myriad of watercourses in the centre. In early times a number of independent principalities flourished in the region—called Bengal—including Gangaridai, Vanga, Gauda, Pundra, and Samatata, among others. In the 14th century Shamsuddin Ilyas Shah was instrumental in unifying many of these principalities. The Mughals added more territories, including Bihar and Orissa (now states of India), to constitute Suba Bangalah, which the British colonial administration later called the Bengal Presidency. In 1947, when British colonial rule ended, a downsized province of Bengal was partitioned into East Bengal and West Bengal. East Bengal was renamed East Pakistan in 1955, and in 1971 it became Bangladesh.

Strategy[]

Bangladesh can form the Pala Empire. It is almost always invaded by an Indian player early game. You are going to have to skillfully and compassionately convince India as to why they should spare you; otherwise seek an alliance with China as they will be more than happy to have an excuse to go to war with India. If India chooses to invade you after making this alliance, try to hold out with forts and entrenched troops while China mounts pressure from the Himalayas.

After securing your independence, make electronics factories and sell Electronics produced to AIs. Make a few frigates to secure your coast and make invading Southeast Asia , India, or Africa easier. Make some infantry, and then take Bhutan and Nepal for taxes and manpower. Proceed by invading Burma for additional taxes and manpower, and then either continue expanding in SE Asia , or make an attempt to conquer the African coast and Arabian Peninsula. Or do all of the things listed if you're such a merciless expansionist.

After taking the previously mentioned lands, take India. Depending on how you secured your independence earlier, this can go two ways.

  • Beg or barter with China for Indian lands they may have taken or betray China and invade them if you're cheeky and ambitious.
  • Invade India by blockading them and then attempting to use blitzkrieg or capital sniping to take the country.

After taking India, take the rest of the lands needed for the Pala Empire, either by invading them if they are untouched or battling another nation who might have taken them. Now you can form Pala Empire and probably wrestle a bear too because that's a hard formable.
