— Description of forming Benelux |
The Benelux is a formable located in Western Europe which borders
France and
Germany. It is comprised of
Belgium, the
Netherlands, and
Luxembourg, hence its name. It can be formed by any of the aforementioned nations.
Background[]
The Benelux Union, also known as simply Benelux, is a politico-economic union and formal international intergovernmental cooperation of three neighbouring states in Western Europe :
Belgium, the
Netherlands, and
Luxembourg. The name Benelux is a portmanteau formed from joining the first few letters of each country's name - Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg - and was first used to name the customs agreement that initiated the union (signed in 1944). It is now used more generally to refer to the geographic, economic, and cultural grouping of the three countries.
The Benelux is an economically dynamic and densely populated region, with 5.6% of the European population (29.2 million residents) and 7.9% of the joint EU GDP (€36,000/resident) on no more than 1.7% of the whole surface of the EU.
Some examples of results of Benelux cooperation: automatic level recognition of all diplomas and degrees within the Benelux, a new Benelux Treaty on Police cooperation, common road inspections, and a Benelux pilot with digital consignment notes.
The main institutions of the Union are the Committee of Ministers, the Council of the Union, the General Secretariat, the Interparliamentary Consultative Council and the Benelux Court of Justice while the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property cover the same land but are not part of the Benelux Union.
The Benelux General Secretariat is located in Brussels. It is the central platform of the Benelux Union cooperation. It handles the secretariat of the Committee of Ministers, the Council of Benelux Union and the sundry committees and working parties. The General Secretariat provides day-to-day support for the Benelux cooperation on the substantive, procedural, diplomatic and logistical levels. The Secretary-General is Alain de Muyser from Luxembourg and there are two deputies: Deputy Secretary-General Frank Weekers from the Netherlands, and Deputy Secretary-General Rudolf Huygelen from Belgium.
Economy and Manpower[]
Benelux generates $976,688 in total income (excluding upkeep cost for homeguard troops).
Nearly all of the income comes from taxes. Benelux has a manpower cap of 268,657 and it gains 1632 manpower daily.

Geography[]
Terrain[]

Biome[]
Though the Benelux has no permanent biome, it is affected by Mild Winter in December-January.
Resources[]

Strategy[]
Netherlands[]
When you start the game, you can just build up your infantry stack in The Hague to 70k troops and start training them. While Tanks are effective, they won't be necessary for such a small space.
Start justifying on Belgium and Luxembourg as your troops start training. As the justifications finish, declare war on both of them and lure Belgium's army into a city of your choice. After Belgium's army is defeated, you can take out Belgium with ease. Luxembourg has a small army and only 2 cities, so it shouldn't be a problem when forming the nation.
Once you annex both of them (which should only take a few months in game), you can form Benelux.
Belgium[]
Start by attempting to ally all of your neighbors. Build three infantry divisions, and slowly train them. Also make one artillery division for later. Justify on Netherlands and Luxembourg very early.
If you can, form the Belgian Empire.
Once your troops are made and justifications are done, invade Luxembourg with your 50,000 troops. It should be enough to beat Luxembourg's entrenched soldiers. After annexing Luxembourg, use the remaining 30,000~ manpower you have to make more infantry, and than turn on the Netherlands, using your artillery to widdle down their troops at Hague as you move your 80,000~ infantry to the Dutch east.
Lure the damaged Dutch troops to the east to get killed by your soldiers, and then sit back. split your infantry into two, and let auto-capture finish the Netherlands for you.
Luxembourg[]
Like any Benelux nation, ally all of your neighbors. Proceed by building 10.000 infantry and an artillery division. You have very little money as Luxembourg, so while you are justifying on the other Benelux nations, import copper and gold and make an electronics factory. Sell your electronics to a rich nation and make an immense profit to fund your army.
Once your justifications are done, move your artillery into Belgium, yet don't let it touch any cities. Let the artillery destroy a bit of Belgium's troops before sending your 30.000 infantry in to lure, auto-capture, and annex Belgium.
Once you're done with Belgium, use the remainder of your manpower to make infantry, and take the Netherlands by using your artillery to deal with their troops as you move your 80,000~ infantry to the Dutch east. Lure the Dutch infantry to the east, and destroy them, then simply take the rest of the Netherlands.
