— Description of forming British Empire |
The British Empire is a transcontinental formable available for the United Kingdom. The empire is known to hold a reputation as one of the most powerful and challenging formables, spanning across numerous colonies worldwide. The massive landmass presents many opportunities to attain substantial economic, military, and political benefits.
Despite having access to many national advantages, reuniting the British Empire is prone to many difficulties. The formation obstructions derive from the empire's vast territories spreading globally, requiring the United Kingdom to engage in international and overseas travel, which could often lead to direct confrontations and conflict with formidable nations, such as India, the
United States,
China, several neighboring European powers, and more.
Upon unifying the British Empire, the user will be awarded with the Right Honourable title and the United Kingdom WWII skin.

The British Empire, the largest Empire to have ever existed to date was formed by the union of the empires of England and Scotland in 1707. In 1802, the United Kingdom was formed with the merger of Great Britain and Ireland, and at its height in 1922, the British Empire held sway over 23% of the world's population, and almost 1/4th of the world's territory. The English, and later British Empire even owned the east coast of the United States from 1607 to 1776. Being the most powerful nation for over a century, the world can still feel the effects of the English culture and the Commonwealth, a collection of previous British dominions and colonies. The United Kingdom, founder of the British Empire still has many of their previous dominions in close touch via the Commonwealth and the Queen, but it is still only a shadow of what it once was. Despite this, the British Empire quite clearly changed the world, spreading English to the last corners of the Earth, among many other technologies. Parliamentary Democracy was also spread by the British Empire, as well as many legal and cultural values. Although a resurgent of the British Empire is extremely unlikely, the world still looks in awe at perhaps the most successful empire in history. Although the date the "British Empire" truly came into existence is often argued over, it could be said that the first started in 1583, at the beginning of England's colonial venture into the New World, establishing colonies in Newfoundland, the Thirteen Colonies, Australia and many others. The "second" British Empire was shortly after Scotland and England formed Great Britain, where the Honourable East Indian Trading Company, which was a part of Britain, famously colonized nations such as Singapore, Burma (now Myanmar), and most famously India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, which was then reformed into the British Raj following a series of rebellions against the Honourable East India Company. Their power in Asia was further enforced, when the United Kingdom fought in the Opium Wars against China and the Qing Dynasty, winning Hong Kong. The British Empire emerged as a rising power in Europe following the War of Spanish Succession, and following the Napoleonic Wars, the British Empire emerged as the Dominant Global Superpower. This era of British supremacy was known as Pax Britannica, in which the British Empire grew rapidly and maintained relative peace until World War I. However, the Empire was still challenged by the Russian Empire in Central Asia, the United States in the Americas, the French in Africa, the Japanese in Asia and the Germans in Europe. The British Empire's last assortment of colonies was formed when the Scramble of Africa saw the British Empire gain control of prominent African territories such as Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria, and so on. The British Empire also controlled numerous amounts of islands, the southern Arabian peninsula (Yemen, Oman, United Arab Emirates), colonies in Oceania and Guyana, forming what people then called the "Empire on which the Sun will never set", in reference to the fact that the empire was so large, the sun will always be shining on at least one part of it. The British Empire's downfall really began in 1914 during WW1, where despite Britain scoring a victory and even winning colonies such as Israel, Jordan, and Tanzania, many lives were lost, British dominions felt alienated from the UK due to key battles like Gallipoli and Vimy Ridge for Canada and Australia and New Zealand respectively, and Britain could hardly afford to keep the empire consolidated. The first colony to leave was ironically the one closest to Britain, in the Irish Revolution of 1921. Eventually, Britain was pressured into giving its dominions nominal independence in 1931, but that didn't stop the empire from breaking away. Despite heroically resisting the Germans in World War II, the British Empire's reliance on the United States to win was only too clear, and despite Britain's claims of being equal to the new Superpowers, the Soviet Union and the United States, it was clear they declining from their superpower position. The British Empire finally had it's the last phase when in 1956, during the Suez Crisis against Egypt, Britain was forced to back down when the United States and Soviet Union stood against them, finally ending Britain's role as a global superpower. Still, Great Britain saw greater living standards and were the third nation to test a nuclear weapon. The British Empire, however, was a massive financial cost to Britain, and both the United States and the Soviet Union were opposed to colonialism. Slowly, Britain reluctantly gave all of its colonies independence, and the empire was truly ended in 1997, upon the transfer of Hong Kong to China. It is notable, however, that the United Kingdom still was able to be a global power on the world stage, especially during the Falklands War, when Argentina invaded the British Falkland Islands, and Britain was able to reclaim them. The UK in general was no longer able to rely on the British Empire, and aligned with the United States, European Union, and the other English-majority Commonwealth Nations, namely Canada, Australia and New Zealand. |
Base Statistics[]
Economy[]
The British Empire is known to maintain one of the largest economies in the world, generating an approximate income of $31,905,375 upon unification. The primary framework of the national economy is supported by by tax collection, while the remaining percent roots from natural and/or manmade resource production.
Resources[]
The British Empire is recognized for producing every available natural resource in the game. Extracting massive quantities of notable materials such as Oil,
Aluminum,
Gold, offering the capability to manufacture a robust industrial powerhouse through bolstering a variety of factories.

France requires the
United Kingdom to form the
Franco-British Union
Germany may invade the British Isles for the expansion of territory or to deter maritime threats.
Turkey or
Greece invading
Cyprus to form the
Ottoman Empire or the
Byzantine Empire respectively.

Ghana is wealthy in gold supplies, which may increase interests for potential annexation by external countries.
Egypt,
Nigeria and
South Africa are all required for the British Empire, and all three are notably some of the strongest countries in Africa. The countries being occupied by players may create some obstruction to the formation attempt. Some of their formables also require lands that are required to form the British Empire. These include:
Sudan and
South Sudan are needed by Egypt to form the
Khedivate of Egypt.
- Cameroon is needed by Nigeria to form the
Sokoto Caliphate.
Namibia,

- Any nation attempting to form
Alam Melayu which requires a vast majority of the Pacific countries.
Germany needs several countries in Oceania to form the
German Empire.
Strategy[]
[NOTE: This formable is really dependent on luck, you will have to get lucky to be able to form in most cases,. public servers are absolutely unpredictable, so take this whole strategy with 1 ton of salt.]
The United Kingdom isn't a very powerful country in Manpower and Money, though it is powerful when combined with proper navies. First thing the player should focus on is getting some good trades up and running, the player will use the income from these trades to make their research spending and government spending higher, it is recommended to go Communist. In the early part of the game the player should start focusing on colonies since establishing colonies can give the player resources, manpower and tax income. The player should also try to use the research speedrun strategy, where the player would accept the researcher event and up their research spending to max, and focus on the Technology tree until they get to quantum computing tech. Of course, the player should get a decently sized navy up and running to protect from Germany, France, Italy and Russia If you're lucky, these nations may not attack you. Now that the player has pretty good research gains, The player should focus on factory, resource, naval, aerial, infantry, tank, support and tax income research. This will help the player later on fighting countries like India, United States, and China. Firstly, you should invade France and Ireland to form the Angevin Empire. With your new resources, you should seek to build a large amount of Consumer Goods factories to boost your economy, then sell them to major democratic nations such as India and Japan. Then, the player should expand into the Middle East as it has high oil deposits and can be a strategically good position against the Soviet Union and India. the player is advised to stop expanding when they reach Iran as anything past that will get India hostile on the player and can start an early war which will be bad. It is HIGHLY recommended that the player uses tanks while traveling in any hard terrain. If there are players in the Middle East, it's advised to either go defensive or naval, with Egypt, the player should go naval as it's far away. With a defensive standpoint, use forts, generals and technology. After the player has done this they should probably go and tackle India, it is highly advised at this point that the player has a big navy, and a huge arsenal of Artillery, Tanks and Infantry. The player should also build forts to protect and buff Unit defense. Now, the best thing the player should do is position their navy to attack India's and start naval bombarding India's army reserves with Aircraft Carriers. If the player is successful in exhausting India then they can start invading them. if successful, you've done the biggest part of the formable. There are 3 scenarios here. Canada Scenario 1: Canada is taken by the United StatesIt is recommended to heavily prepare for this one, you should station armies and forts near the territory that is near the player's territory. Then it is also recommended to have setup a steady Base near Mexico or in Brazil. Though, if the player is bad, you can utilize a capital snipe with transport aircraft, taking out the enemy capital. Then, you wait for the releaseables. You most likely already took the Carribean, though. Now, of course you should most likely go on the offensive as you should have India at this point. Canada Scenario 2: Canada is AI and is not takenThis is the easiest one, just use the strategy called AI Luring and make sure the Canada Scenario 3: Canada is a player and is not takenThis can be easy and can also be hard. If Canada conquered the United States somehow then refer to Scenario 1. If they haven't defeated the United States and have conquered other things, it's best to navally beat them and land troops on their mainland to take it over. Canada Scenario 4: Canada is taken, skilled US playerThe player would likely realize you would attempt to ally with fellow Europowers like France, Spain, Germany, Turkey, and Italy, and even Russia and Poland, as well as other nations such as China, Japan, or more uncommonly, Brazil and Mexico, due to their proximity making them an arguably bigger threat, though in the latter's case, it is an immediate threat to America regardless of their skill. If they expect a war over Canada, it is likely if they wish to defend their territory from any external power from taking it from them, no matter the future intent. It is likely they are ready to make this war extremely unfavorable at a high expense for both sides; it is unlikely a victory is possible unless nuclear weapons are used - even then, the US player would likely be on their way to produce their own nuclear arsenal, thereby leveling the playing field. However, if they do not have a huge naval force, it is recommended to amass a coalition navy to destroy what they have. Start by producing 16 destroyers and 5-6 battleships - escort those with 1 or 2 aircraft carriers and finish it off with a few submarines. It is recommended that due to the proximity between you and the East Coast that you coordinate heavily with your allies for full effectiveness. This naval force should be yours to command, not from other nations - order them to build their own navy should the situation require it, but beware your oil and steel supplies. Then, build steel factories, and should you see it necessary to maintain stability, electronics, motor, and consumer factories. The number of factories should equate to your required resource output; in other words, build as many factories as you can, but keep your consumption of required resources below their output. You can, however, have very small deficits if your stockpiles are very large in turn. Once your allies have built a naval force, ask Japan and/or China to build their own to assault the west coast, as well as order the Europeans to follow suit on the East. Though difficult to actually pull off, having a coalition navy to destroy the US's own will be a tremendous benefit, as they are but one and you are many. Even harder, however, is full coordination between such a large alliance. Though favorable, it would be hard to simultaneously assault both coasts of the US, especially for the Sino-Japanese as they must also contend with potential forces in Alaska and certainly Hawaii. As for you and the other Europowers, immediately after building your navy, build up several divisions of 500k soldiers accompanied by a few artillery divisions each. These will spearhead any offensives into the United States. Do not hold back on your manpower usage, as not only is the United States a gargantuan country by now, easily the largest in the world, they also have an equally massive manpower pool to draw from that greatly dwarfs every member of your alliance. Do not feel ashamed to call upon your allies to donate manpower or money to you, as after all you are allies tackling a massive foe who stands in the way of British hegemony over the world. Send your navy and army forces towards the East Coast once you are ready. Although Canada is literally the reason why you are at war, hitting the American homeland is far more important to force them to collapse/surrender. Send 2-4 divisions to strike New York, Miami, and Boston, as these will greatly damage the coast-based abilities of the United States. However, it is likely they are guarded by large forces, so wear them down with artillery and naval power, provided your navy successfully neutralized the Americans'. They may be willing to sacrifice the large cities to you, or use scorched earth tactics. This, however, would gravely harm their economy. It is best to strike deeper, though taking Washington would likely be of little use, as a strategic US player would move their capital to Chicago and navally fortify the region. Possibly with air power, as well - if this is true, immediately assemble an aerial production line and produce a few fighters and bombers should that be necessary. Attackers and transports would also be favorable, as it would grant your troops incredible mobility, but skyrocket vulnerability. The US player would likely have set up counters to anything you can throw at them, so this war will be rather gruesome - most players would be unwilling to do so and start again in a different server. Thankfully, however, this is an extremely rare occurrence, though for many, a terrifying threat to have a brilliant warmonger loom over the world. Some million-population cities such as Charlotte, Jacksonville, and Providence may be able to yield a beachhead, so be sure to entrench artillery and troops there. As said earlier, always send more and more forces no matter the deficit (unless you are in debt). The US is able to replenish their losses much easier and faster than your alliance, so keep that in mind as you keep on sending reinforcements. The faster you can strike, the better. Immediately also try to ally Brazil and Mexico, as their much closer proximity will be of great help, especially the latter's as it will not only distract the US, but also help lay the groundwork and foundation for a Sino-Japanese assault on the Western lands of the US. They are largely incapable of the same things Europowers or the Sino-Japanese are able to do, but nonetheless what powers they can yield to your service will aid in the effort. Just tell all your allies not to attack Canada - that'd be unfortunate if you didn't have it. Once the American forces are worn down a little more, strike more cities with a few million people if possible, as it will cause unrest, instability, and war exhaustion. One advantage you have over the Americans are the several releasable nations within the overall nation, Canada and its own releaseables included - compared to the war, this is an acceptable price to pay. Do not move your forces unless absolutely necessary, or if it is a bait and switch maneuver. An envious and level-headed player however may simply stand there and wait for a good opportunity to counterattack. Once you have upwards of ~5 million soldiers across your alliance inside the US, begin to flank, encircle, and destroy any US troop emplacements - be sure to also accompany your advancements with artillery and possibly aircraft (should you need such). Once China and Japan, by Mexico, Russia, and Brazil, it might be game over for the US as releaseable provinces begin to break away. To them, however, they are not defeated until they proclaim it themselves, but regardless, they might wish to negotiate terms. Annex all of Canada as it is required - if you really want to make them pay, order the division and annexation of the entirety of the United States. If any of your allies have Canadian cities, ask to purchase the required cities from them. If you've done everything right, you should now have won World War Three and grounded the soaring Bald Eagle. Congratulations. |
Trivia[]
- The British Empire's flag is the same as the United Kingdom's flag.
- The British Empire's custom description still mentions Queen Elizabeth II, despite her death on 8 September 2022. This is widely due to the match beginning in 2019, so any events that occur after 2019 does not get featured into the game.
- Despite being the largest empire in real life,[1] it is the 2nd biggest formable to be added, being slightly smaller than the Mongol Empire.[2]
- It is known as "the empire on which the sun never sets" as there is always a part of the British Empire where it's daytime.[3]
- At its peak in 1920, the British Empire ruled approximately 1/4 of the world's land area and 1/3 of the world's population.[4] This is the largest empire to ever exist in the world.[1]
- Forming it gives you the title “Right Honourable” which is traditionally applied to certain persons and collective bodies in the Commonwealth of Nations.[5]
- Despite historically controlling
Antigua and Barbuda,
Saint Kitts and Nevis,
Belize,
Saint Lucia,
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines,

Montserrat,
Saint Helena,
Anguilla, the
British Virgin Islands,
Tokelau,
Niue and the
Cayman Islands, but it makes sense as these islands were added in a later update. The British Empire also doesn't require the
United Kingdom (except for Northern Ireland, which is controlled by
UK at the start of the game, but has
Irish cores), which is most likely caused by a human error.
