— Description of forming Caribbean Federation |
The Caribbean Federation was a formable located in the Caribbean, made up of all the nations in the Caribbean. This is one of the few fictional formable nations in Rise of Nations, as there was never any such federation in the Caribbean that encompassed every island in the sea.
Background[]
The Caribbean Federation is a fictional country in Rise of Nations. As such, we cannot give you a historical background of this country. However, we can give you the closest thing to this country and how it will work.
The closest thing there was to a Caribbean Federation was back in the late '50s/early '60s.
The West Indies Federation was a short-lived political union that existed from 3 January 1958 to 31 May 1962. Various islands in the Caribbean that were colonies of the United Kingdom, including Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Jamaica, and those on the Leeward and Windward Islands, came together to form the Federation, with its capital in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The Federation collapsed due to internal political conflicts over how the Federation itself would be governed or how it would viably function. The formation of a West Indian Federation was encouraged by the United Kingdom, but also requested by West Indian nationalists. The country consisted of the modern countries of Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago.
The flag itself comes from what is known as the Association of Caribbean States. The ACS is a union of nations centered on the Caribbean Basin. It was formed with the aim of promoting consultation, cooperation, and concerted action among all the countries of the Caribbean. The primary purpose of the ACS is to develop greater trade between the nations, enhance transportation, develop sustainable tourism, and facilitate greater and more effective responses to local natural disasters.
Currently, there are no concrete plans to unite the Caribbean all into one country.
Economy[]
The Caribbean Federation is a weak formable. It has a good population due to Hispaniola and Cuba, but only has an income of $947,229 and a manpower of 358,854 on normal conscription settings, which is Volunteer.
Terrain[]
Terrain is hilly in parts of Cuba, Hispaniola, and Jamaica. The rest either is flat or has no land.
Threats[]
There are few threats due to very low interest in the Caribbean. However, potential threats can include the United Kingdom wanting to form the British Empire, the Confederate States of America wanting to form the Golden Circle, Spain wanting to form the Spanish Empire, or even just an expansive Mexico, United States, Venezuela, Guyana/Suriname/French Guiana, or Brazil.
Strategy[]
The best nation to do this is Cuba, since it is communist and has the most manpower and population in the Caribbean. Another good alternative is Dominican Republic as it has 2 cities that can make tanks, and tanks will be useful because they do a good job at destroying entrenched units. The first thing to do is to justify on the Bahamas and Jamaica, or you can do it anyways you want. It is recommended to build electronic factories and sell electronics to Brazil or India AI since they make big income, then you should make destroyers or battleships. Be aware of your oil stockpile since oil shortage can do severe damage to your ships. Using tanks are also a good idea since all the troops on the tiny island have entrenchment. Declare on all the nations and send destroyers to the islands so they could weaken the troops. After that, you can form the Caribbean Federation.
As a small island nation like Saint Kitts and Nevis, immediately attempt to ally at least one powerful neighbor like the USA or Brazil. The first countries to take should be the Dominican Republic and Haiti, as this gives you a massive boost to tax and manpower gain. Follow with Jamaica and Cuba. The other island states will be difficult to take due to entrenchment. Make a battleship if possible although a destroyer and artillery or even a frigate would be a better and cheaper option, but brute forcing an invasion of the isles using tanks or infantry works too. It may be in your interest to research infantry/tank attack if going with the latter method.
