The Caucasian Imamate, also known as the Caucasus Imamate was a state established by the imams in Dagestan and Chechnya during the early-to-mid 19th century in the North Caucasus, to fight against the Russian Empire during the Caucasian War, where Russia sought to conquer the Caucasus in order to secure communications with its new territories south of the mountains.
During the war, the Imamate would see support from other Muslim tribes, eventually amalgamating with Chechnya, parts of Ingushetia and the rest of Dagestan during the Imamship of Imam Shamil. The western tribes, the Adyghes, would fall under the control of the Imamate during Shamil's rule as well, but a problem arose in the form of the Kabardins and Ossetians that sat in between Shamil's east and west tribes, so these tribes were run mainly by Shamil's naibs who had traveled to the west instead of the Dīvān itself. Shamil sought to build on British popular support for his anti-Russian struggle in "the Great Game" context, but no official British assistance arrived. Shamil conquered the Western Muslim tribes, and transformed a group of small bickering villages into a united country. However, he also saw great casualties to his people, particularly in the Siege of Akhoulgo in Dagestan in 1839, where he lost around 4500 of his own people. But he continued to rule until 1859, when Emperor Alexander II of Russia offered Shamil a peaceful surrender - he would even be a guest of the imperial palace. Shamil agreed, and the Caucasian Imamate was no more. However, fighting did not immediately cease. |
Geography[]
Terrain[]
Despite being sufficiently small, the Caucasian Imamate sits on top of the Caucasian Mountains. To elaborate, it's northern region is completely Mountainous, which thus far then makes armies traveling through or into its city Gronzyy quite lengthily. However moving down to its southerner regions, it can accommodate its flat terrain which to start with; used as a effective gateway for armies inside the Caucasian Mountains.
Biomes[]
To begin with, the Caucasian Imamate does not start with any biomes at all. But, during winter season (start of December to end of January) the northern region will be affected by Mild Winter which by cause, would add to the terrain effect it currently has.
Political[]
While to look at, it would be surrounded to all but its south borders to Russia strongly making an already intimidating sight. The other two countries it borders next are
Georgia on the southwest and then a tiny microscopic gap with
Azerbaijan which can be found but hard to see. Importantly to note, the Caucasian Imamate is a landlocked nation and thus unable to kickstart its navy.
Economy & Manpower[]
Economy[]
When observing the Caucasian Imamate, it can only make a tablespoon sized income of $71,441 daily which comes from its tax income.
Manpower[]
Also to note, the Caucasian Imamate makes aorund 266 manpower daily which would be sinfigantly weak for the most part. And to include with it, it can store up to 60,000 manpower with its starting conscription law.
Population[]
With its base population, the Caucasian Imamate starts off with 286,020 which is a mere amount. With it's two cities, Gronzyy is its most populus city which has 226,100 residencies living there. Its other city, Botlikh, would own the remaining residencies of 59,920.
Threats[]
Russia will most likely re-integrate you before you can gain your bearings.
- Any releasable attempting to form the
Northern Caucasus Republic.
Don,
Karachay, or
Kumykia forming
Khazaria.
Strategy[]
Releasing[]
To form the Caucasian Imamate, you need to choose either Chechnya or
Avaria, and invade the other nation, both of which are releasables of
Russia. The quickest way to release these is invading
Belarus. Stack up all of your homeguard, justify liberation on Belarus, and place it on the border, declare war, and auto-capture. Once you invade all of Belarus, concede terms, releasing
Avaria and
Chechnya. Choose one of these countries, and you've already completed 50% of it.
As
Chechnya[]
Playing as Chechnya is a huge advantage, because you get more population. Just wait for 10K manpower to flow in, while making recruitment centers and developing your only city a lot, Groznyy. Now, since you have 10K infantry, justify conquest on Avaria, and capture Botlikh. Now Annex Cities, and adding strict rules is optional, like 75% of treasury and resources will be seized. Now, form the Imamate, and you've finished!
As
Avaria[]
As Avaria, you don't have a good advantage, because you have a lower population. You will have to focus on recruitment centers, and developing cities, until you get 10K manpower. You only have Botlikh, which has less population than Groznyy. Justify conquest on Chechnya, invade them with 10K infantry, and annex the cities. Now, form, you are done!
