The Contestado War was an armed conflict that took place from October 1912 to August 1916 , which had squatters and small landowners as belligerent parties against the governments of the states of Santa Catarina and Paraná , in addition to the Brazilian Federal Government . The stage was a region rich in yerba mate and wood , disputed by both states and which became known as "Contecido".
Later on during the war, a "holy monk" by the name of José Maria then rebelled against the newly formed Brazilian republic and decided to give independent government status to the community he commanded. For him, the republic was the "devil's law". He named an illiterate farmer "emperor of Brazil", named the community "Quadro Santo" and created an honor guard made up of 24 knights that he called "Twelve Peers of France", in an allusion to Charlemagne 's chivalry in the Middle Ages.
The peasants joined this, founding some villages, each with its own saint, these being like a "celestial monarchy", with its own order, similar to what Antônio Conselheiro had done in Canudos.
This was one of the largest revolts to ever occur in the area.

Strategy[]
Play as Brazil, justify an liberation war at 
French Guiana, and then play as Sul. Make sure you only release Sul. Build 2 Steel Manufactory and 1 Motor Factories, 2 to 3 Electronic Factories and start selling or saving the resources for other stuff. To keep your economy doing great, you should make some Fertilizer Factories and 2 Civilian Factories to build Consumer Goods to sell. It's recommended for some good economy. Justify war at 
Brazil and declare war taking them with your choice of troops. If anything declares independence from Brazil, simply justify and declare on the independent releasables. Make sure you Jungle Specialize your troops, since it will save you some time. Take your time declaring and taking everything, and congrats! You have formed the Celestial Monarchy!

- Uruguay will most likely conquer you to form Banda Oriental (RARE)
- Brazil reuniting it's lost territory. (RARE, SOMETIMES UNCOMMON)
- Any South America country expanding into the continent (RARE)

- The flag of this formable is coincidentally the same as the flag of the Republic of The Floridas, when it wasn't part of the United States/Spanish Empire.[1]
- The Brazilian releasable Sul forms this formable because the separatist movement behind the Sul releasable, considers this state to be an example of their historical self-determination.
