Background[]
The Central African Republic (CAR) is a landlocked country located in Central Africa. Cameroon to the west, Chad to the north, Sudan to the northeast, South Sudan to the east, Democratic Republic of the Congo to the south and Republic of the Congo to the southwest.
The area that is now the Central African Republic was inhabited by various indigenous groups, including the Bayaka, Banda, and Gbaya peoples. The region was also influenced by the Kanem-Bornu and Baguirmi kingdoms from neighboring Chad. The Central African Republic gained independence from France on August 13, 1960. David Dacko became the country's first president. However, political instability and economic challenges plagued the early post-independence years. In 1966, President Dacko was overthrown in a military coup led by Jean-Bédel Bokassa. Bokassa ruled as a dictator, and in 1976, he declared the country a monarchy, renaming it the Central African Empire. His regime was characterized by authoritarianism, human rights abuses, and lavish spending. In 1979, Bokassa was overthrown in a French-backed coup, and the country transitioned back to a republic. However, political instability persisted, and the Central African Republic experienced a series of coups, rebellions, and armed conflicts in the following decades. Ethnic and religious tensions have played a significant role in the country's history. Clashes between different ethnic groups, such as the predominantly Muslim Seleka rebels and the largely Christian anti-Balaka militias, escalated into a violent conflict in 2013, resulting in widespread displacement and human rights abuses. Efforts have been made to address the country's challenges and restore stability. In 2016, a peace agreement was signed between the government and several rebel groups. However, the Central African Republic continues to face significant socio-economic issues, including poverty, weak infrastructure, and limited access to basic services. |

Strategy[]
Your main focus will be preserving manpower as the Central African Republic has far less manpower than it's neighbors. At the start, only try invading South Sudan and the Republic of the Congo as they are similar in strength to you. Don't do both at once as your manpower will be easily overwhelmed and you won't be able to support a military. For getting manpower, you should try:
- Making recruitment centers.
- Getting the Military Service act.
- Using artillery in war to cut manpower losses.
- Getting Limited conscription law.
However, manpower is not your only problem, you also have a weak economy. This can be fixed by making electronics factories and/or fertilizer factories and selling their products to AI nations for revenue.
Defending from Nigeria[]
In the case that Nigeria invades you, you should have a good strategy to ensure your survival. Making forts in your west is a good idea, and make sure to create one on your capital. Early in the game, if you save enough political power, try moving your capital farther east as if Nigeria invades you they can easily take your default capital of Bangui. In terms of the military you need to defend, station some infantry on your western cities in a army group with a good general. Also, make a single aircraft factory if you have enough money, and don't buy resources for it. When you do this, your factory will produce 8 units of aircraft parts without even needing resources to fuel it. Use these aircraft parts to make attackers for destroying Nigerian forces.
