The Confederate States of America (also known as simply The Confederacy through in-game chat) is a Tier IV releasable of the United States, located in North America
. It near exclusively borders the United States, minus the Gulf of Mexico in the south and its brief western border with
Texas if released.
With nearly 200 cities and almost 53 million people at the start of the game, it is the most powerful releasable on the continent in terms of statistics, and one of the most powerful in the game. It also starts off with a high manpower capacity, and is capable of expanding rapidly, pending any potential conflicts with the United States. It also has one formable that requires it to expand into Latin America and the Caribbean: the Golden Circle

Base Statistics[]
Economy[]
The base economy of the Confederate States starts off with an income of $2,186,546. $2,172,279 of this comes from taxes, while the other $14,267 comes from resources. Due to the country being a releasable, and therefore its chances of appearing during the first few months of the game being unlikely, it is likely that these statistics will be different by the time it is released. However,
Resources[]
The Confederate States only produces about 2.4 units of Oil every turn.

Military[]
When released, the Confederate States begins with the Volunteer conscription law. Consequentially, it begins with a manpower capacity of 1,056,125, and an increase of 3,184 per turn. As is the case with it's economy, these statistics will likely change by the time the Confederate States is released. An additional consequence of being a releasable is that it does not start with any home guard units, and furthermore, technically starts off with 0 manpower.

Geography[]
Terrain and Biome[]

The terrain of the Confederate States
The majority of the Confederate States of America is mainly flat. However, an area in the Eastern part of the releasable that make up the Appalachian Mountains has Semi-Mountainous terrain. Additionally, the entirety of the releasable lacks a permanent biome, but the states of Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia are effected by a Mild Winter during December and January.
Borders[]

The biomes of the Confederate States during Late Winter (December-January)
As a releasable of the United States, the Confederate States borders that country, with those boundaries spanning across the entire northern border. If
Texas is released, then it will also share a border with that country further to the west. The Confederate States is also within very close proximity to
Cuba and the
Bahamas, although it does not border them directly.
Cities[]
The Confederate States of America is made up of 174 cities, which together house around 52.8 million people. The majority of these people reside within the state of Florida, which has a population of 19.7 million across 43 cities. The state also contains four of the country's ten largest cities: Miami, Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville. Miami, in particular, is the largest city in the country overall with 6.3 million people, and is usually selected as the capital.
Outside of Florida, the rest of the Confederate States is very sparsely populated. The remainder of the population is largely grouped up into the areas of its largest other population centers; in order, the five biggest cities outside of Florida are Atlanta, Virginia Beach, Charlotte, Memphis, and Nashville.
Politics[]
Ideology[]
As a releasable, the Confederate States starts off with the Non-Aligned ideology.
Formables[]
The Confederate States of America has one formable: the Golden Circle, which requires the Confederate States to expand far into Latin America and the Caribbean.
Threats[]
- The
United States might declare war on the Confederacy to get their land back.
Mexico may attempt to expand further into North America, which can include invading the Confederate States.
Texas, while being much weaker than Confederate States, might pose a threat. Although, this is extremely rare.
Brazil, while being further away, might also have the desire to expand rapidly throughout the Americas.
Bahamas or
Cuba might get expansionist and expand through Florida because it's close to them.
Strategy[]
The survival of the Confederate States is largely dependent on the status or behavior of the United States. More likely than not, the United States will not be A.I. Due to the Confederate States being made up of a large chunk of the United States' former land, it is extremely likely they will attempt to forcefully re-integrate the country. Especially before it has any chance to prepare; as a releasable, the Confederate States does not start off with any manpower and would likely require a lot of time to be able to properly stand up to an aggressive United States. Also, the Confederate States lacks a lot of natural defenses and is extremely vulnerable to naval invasions or ambushes, and it's border with the United States might be too long to fully defend. However, it does have a couple of advantages against the United States. For example, the Northern border of the Confederacy directly touches the American capital, Washington D.C. Theoretically, a good Confederate States player could break through any defenses established by the United States, and capture or possibly scorch Washington D.C. You could also go just a bit further north and do the same to New York City. Doing either or both of these would crumble the latter country's stability, possibly resulting in more releasables declaring their independence. Best case scenario, this combined with any further capturing of American territory would result in a United States player surrendering, and if not, the Confederate States would have the opportunity to completely annex the remaining parts of the country.
Depending on the outcome of the above scenario, you should hopefully be secure enough in your position to expand further. This, logically, brings up the idea of forming the Golden Circle. Doing this would require you to expand slightly out west into
Texas, annex the entirety of the Caribbean, take over
Mexico and all Central American countries (e.g.
Panama), as well as the northernmost countries of South America
:
Colombia and
Venezuela. However, this brings alongside it several challenges. For example,
Mexico will more likely than not be a player. As such, successfully invading them might be tricky, but as was the case with the United States, there are areas of Mexico that could easily be naval invaded (e.g. the Yucatan Peninsula), including an area that isn't far off from it's capital.
Brazil may also be a player with expansionist goals towards northern South America, possibly to try and form the
United States of South America. Due to the large Jungle areas and several Mountainous regions throughout South America, any war with Brazil will likely lead to attrition warfare that will be extremely hard to fight.
Note that, obviously, forming the Golden Circle is completely optional and you may have other ideas. For example, expansion into Africa is just as much of, if not a more feasible concept as forming the Golden Circle. However, your goals are your own, and if you've managed to secure your safety from the United States, you are likely in a position to make your own decisions and aspirations.
Trivia[]
- It's the first releasable to officially have a formable, but on May 8, 2021, the
Xin Dynasty was added for
Shanxi, both being formerly the only releasables with formables in the game, now added to this group is
Cascadia and
Hawaii as of September 5th, 2022. For
Cascadia, the formable
Pacific States of America was added, and for Hawaii, the
Polynesian Confederation was added. There are also way more but whoever wrote this Trivia was too early to add them.
- The Confederate borders in-game have significantly improved since 10/04/22, which replaced hand-drawn tiles with proper geographically accurate ones (provinces, states, counties, etc.). Before, the Confederacy did not contain all of the states it had at its greatest extent, and some stray American cities were located in Florida and North Carolina. However, Port Arthur has still not been transferred to
Texas.
- Due to
Texas being a separate releasable, the Confederate borders in-game do not show it owning the state.
- Both the
Golden Circle and the mission
Whistling Dixie do require
Texas however, since it is historically one of the Confederate States when the CSA declared independence in 1861.
- Both the
- The flag of the CSA was changed to the original Confederate flag with 7 stars used in early 1861, rather than the flag of the Confederacy at its territorial zenith, showing 13 Stars.
