— Description of forming Czechoslovakia |
Czechoslovakia is a formable of Slovakia and
Czechia located in Central Europe
, encompassing the two nations.
While it may be one of the easiest formables, it faces challenges when forming from multiple threats, the two biggest ones being Germany and
Poland. Czechoslovakia will have a hard time fending off Germany and Poland due to their small population and manpower capacity compared to Germany and Poland. This may lead to it being promptly steamrolled or overrun by either of the two countries. These threats and weaknesses make Czechoslovakia a challenging country to play as, but if the player can exploit their terrain and defensive capabilities, they might be able to pull off a victory.
Background[]
Czechoslovakia was a nation founded after World War I in 1918. The country fell to the Nazis during World War II and was eventually liberated by Soviet forces. Czechoslovakia became a communist satellite state for the duration of the Cold War until the Velvet Revolution in 1989. The country was dissolved in 1993 following a peaceful split between Czechia and
Slovakia.
Czechoslovakia was founded in 1918 after World War I and once the Treaty of Versailles was signed, formally dissolving the Austro-Hungarian Empire into Austria, Hungary, the newly formed Yugoslavia formerly known as Serbia and Czechoslovakia with land being returned to Italy and Romania and some pieces going to the newly formed Poland. Czechoslovakia at this time had Carpathian Rus along with Czechia and Slovakia. In 1939, the Third Reich demanded the Sudetenland, a German speaking part of Czechoslovakia. Germany, United Kingdom and France all met and demanded Czechoslovakia cede it to Germany which was named the Munich Agreement. Once done, Germany swiftly occupied the nation, ceding Carpathian Rus to Hungary and small parts of the country to Poland, Germany annexed Czechia and set up a puppet government in Slovakia even though war had never formally been declared and the Czechoslovakian government was still operating in exile. During World War II, many Czechs and Slovaks were "ethnically cleansed" by Germany by sending their citizens to concentration camps such as Treblinka and Auschwitz. The country was liberated by the Soviet Union in 1945 which swiftly set up a communist puppet regime and the Soviet Union restored its borders as well as annexing Carpathian Rus. After East and West Germany were setup, an "iron curtain" fell upon the countries border with West Germany and Austria. Czechoslovakia joined the Warsaw Pact after pressure from the Soviet Union in order to rival the newly formed NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization). After the collapse of Communism in the east and the foreseeable collapse of the Soviet Union, the Velvet Revolution took place in which people rebelled against the communist government and officially joined the west in democracy in 1989. In 1993, after the collapse of the Soviet Union and when Yugoslavia had broken into all out war amongst itself, the Czech Republic and Slovakia decided to end the Union and split into the Czech Republic (now known as Czechia) and Slovakia. In 1999 Czechia joined NATO and Slovakia followed suit in 2004. |

Terrain[]

Terrain of Czechoslovakia
Czechoslovakia boasts Hilly and Mountainous terrain. The hilly terrain covers the Sudete Mountains and Bratislava, while the Mountainous terrain covers almost all of Slovakia except Bratislava, where the terrain is hilly. The central parts of
Czechia is not covered by any terrain, however, being completely flat.
Biome[]

Biomes of Czechoslovakia during November and February

Biomes of Czechoslovakia during January and December
Czechoslovakia only has two biomes which are Mild Winter and Severe Winter. The Mild Winter covers almost all of the country except Bratislava during the months of November and February, while Severe Winter covers the entire country except Bratislava during the months of December to January.
When it is not November, December, January, nor February, there are no biomes present in the formable.
Strategy[]
This formable may actually be faster as Slovakia if Czech Republic is AI, since forming it as the Czech Republic will require going through mountainous terrain. First, negotiate with Germany. If Germany really wants to annex the Czech Republic, the player should tell them that they will cede Czechoslovakia to them after they are done. Justify and declare war on the Czech Republic. Capture one of the border cities and wait for the player's entrenched troops to wipe out the Czech Home Guard. Then, set the troops on auto-capture and the rest should be quite easy.
After Forming[]
If Germany has justified war with you but hasn't declared since you formed Czechoslovakia (and isn't your ally), it probably means that Germany is afraid of you or your allies.
Threats[]
Germany invading your country.
Poland invading your country to form
Zapadoslavia.

Ukraine.
