— Description of forming Danish Empire |
The Danish Empire is an exclusive formable for Denmark and you must not be the
Kalmar Union to form it.
Background[]
The following is taken from Wikipedia which is licensed under CC-BY-SA 4.0. You can view the article it was taken from here.
Danish overseas colonies and Dano-Norwegian colonies are the colonies that Denmark–Norway (Denmark after 1814) possessed from 1536 until 1953. At its apex the colonies spanned four continents: Europe, North America, Africa and Asia.
The period of colonial expansion marked a rise in the status and power of Danes and Norwegians in the Kalmar union. Danes and Norwegians during this time increasingly saw themselves as citizens of the same "State Fatherland" (Statsfædrelandet), the realm of the Oldenburg monarchs. In the 17th century, following territorial losses on the Scandinavian Peninsula, Denmark-Norway began to develop colonies, forts, and trading posts in West Africa, the Caribbean, and the Indian subcontinent. Christian IV first initiated the policy of expanding Denmark-Norway's overseas trade, as part of the mercantilist wave that was sweeping Europe. Denmark-Norway's first colony was established at Tranquebar (Trankebar) on India's southern coast in 1620. Admiral Ove Gjedde led the expedition that established the colony. After 1814, when Norway was ceded to Sweden following the Napoleonic Wars, Denmark retained what remained of Norway's great medieval colonial holdings. Today, the only remaining vestiges are two originally Norwegian colonies that are currently within the Danish Realm, the Faroe Islands and Greenland, the Faroe Islands were a Danish County until 1948, while Greenland's colonial status ceased in 1953. They are now autonomous territories within the Kingdom of Denmark with home rule, in a relationship referred to as the "Unity of the Realm." |
Economy and Manpower[]
The Danish Empire generates $710,415 income, with resource profit from Greenland contributing a significant amount. The Danish Empire has a manpower capacity of 203,846 manpower. All the countries in this formable have the minimum 60,000 capacity. The Danish Empire gains 2426 manpower daily.
Geography[]
Terrain[]
The terrain of the Danish Empire, due to spanning three continents, varies. Greenland,
Iceland, and the northern tip of mainland
Norway is Semi-Mountainous. The only Mountainous areas are in central and southern
Norway.
Denmark and the
Faroe Islands are all flat, however.
Biome[]
The biome of the Danish Empire is wildly differing. Northern and central Norway, Iceland, and Greenland are all in the Arctic biome. Denmark and the rest of non-Arctic Norway has no permanent biome besides the normal one, but experience Severe Winter in December-January, and Mild Winter during the rest of the winter months.
Resources[]
The Danish Empire produces:
- 1 unit of titanium
- 3 units of copper
- 8.66 units of iron
- 9 units of gold
- 2.33 units of aluminum
- 1 unit of chromium
Strategy[]
Pre-War Tactics[]
Justify a conquest war on Faroe Islands and
Iceland. During the justification time spawn soldiers until you have 70K (including your home guard so you don't waste MP) and train them with winter specialization while spawning two destroyers and in order to stop any oil shortages from happening, start trading with nations for oil.
Iceland and Faroe Islands[]
After the justification time is done, justify on Greenland and the
United States Virgin Islands and then declare war on both
Faroe Islands and
Iceland. Send one destroyer to Faroe Islands and the other to Iceland. Split your 70K infantry and send the larger half to the northernmost city in Iceland and use AI luring to take on the Icelandic troops there, while bombarding them with your other destroyer. After defeating Iceland's troops, take its other cities with the smaller half of your troops starting with the capital. Leave Faroe Islands alone until your destroyers have eradicated all their troops and then take their capital.
Greenland and United States Virgin Islands[]
After the justification for Greenland and US Virgin Islands is done, immediately justify on Norway and use the Iceland tactics in Greenland and the Faroe Islands one on the US Virgin Islands.
Taking over Norway[]
After Greenland and the USVI is taken over and their respective wars ended, bring all your troops back to one of your territories in the North Sea and let them regain their soldiers. After the Norway justification is over and your troops in satisfactory numbers, send your troops to Svalbard and place a destroyer in between the island and mainland Norway so that your navy will destroy any Norwegian infantry trying back. Then send your troops to Norway's northern cities, continually switching from land to sea to avoid attrition while sending in even more soldiers to take the southern cities. Taking over Norway will take a while but if they are not a player, it shouldn't be that hard.
Congratulations, you have formed the Danish Empire!
Threats[]
- An experienced
Germany will always annex
Denmark early on in the game.
- Any other Nordic nations trying to form the
Kalmar Union.
- The
United Kingdom may also take
Norway and Denmark because they need it to form the
North Sea Empire.
- The
United States May also take
Greenland for its resources.
Canada may also take Greenland for the same reason as The United States, for its resources, or they're a douchebag that won't let you form. Or they could see Greenland as being a part of Canada, which is a major possibility.
