The Dominican Republic is a Tier III Nation in North America and specifically, in the Caribbean. Its only land border is with Haiti, however it has multiple maritime borders with other nations in the Caribbean. The capital and biggest city is Santo Domingo,

Background[]

The Dominican Republic lies on the eastern half of the island of Hispaniola. The island was originally settled by the Native American Taino's, an Arawak people. When Columbus arrived in 1492 on his first voyage to the New World, he claimed the island for Spain. At the time the island was inhabited by hundreds of thousands of Native Americans. The number of Taino people declined rapidly, however, due to diseases brought by the Europeans such as smallpox.

Hispaniola became a springboard for more Spanish exploration and conquest throughout the New World. The city of Santo Domingo was established in 1496 and was the first permanent settlement in the New World.

In 1667 Spain ceded control of the western third of the island to France, and in 1804 this part would become the country of Haiti. The Haitians would conquer the rest of the island in 1821, but the eastern two thirds would be granted independence as the country the Dominican Republic in 1844.

Strategy[]

Make 2-3 electronic factories as soon as the game loads. You start off stronger then most of the other Caribbean nations. Justify on Haiti and Cuba. As soon as you sell electronics, make a steel and motor factory. Build troops for Haiti and declare war. Use AI luring to kill off the home guard and capture them. I recommend you become Communist for factory buffs while you make tanks. Declare war on Cuba next. If they are a player build a submarine and a destroyer. Work your way through the country east to west. Then capture Cuba. Congrats, you have quite a lot of options now. You can use your destroyer to capture all the islands and form Caribbean Federation, start taking Latin America, or attack Venezuela and Colombia. Once you got all of these, you should be about as strong as Mexico, and if the US hasn’t invaded them yet, declare war. Make planes and use attackers to kill their guards. Use a lot of manpower on tanks and specialize Arid. Taking Mexico should be easy but now the USA has their sights set on you. Make a battleship or an aircraft carrier if you have the money, and bring your aircraft carrier near Washington. Put several ships off the coast of Florida and the Gulf of Mexico. Make two invasions, one from Mexico and one from Cuba. Attack with at least 500k troops in each. If the USA Is sending troops, make sure to try to get entrenched. If one group is being heavily attacked, bring artillery while the other group takes the other side. Eventually with war exhaustion and your bomber The USA will fall apart. Congratulations! You are now a huge power and can take over the world.
