Eritrea is a Tier II nation located in Africa . It borders
Egypt,
Sudan,
Ethiopia, and
Djibouti.
Background[]
The land that is now Eritrea was ruled by various powers around the Red Sea area for most of history. In 1885, the Italians took control and made Eritrea a colony. They tried to use the land as a base to take over Ethiopia, which they conquered, though not easily. After World War II,
Italy lost the land to British administration. After an 11 year-long rule under the administration, the land was united with
Ethiopia once more and was federated with it. The Eritreans wanted their own country as they felt they would not be treated fairly by the Ethiopians. They were denied, however.
The Eritreans rebelled and struggled for their freedom for thirty years. They finally achieved their independence in 1993. They still have hostilities with Ethiopia and a dispute over the border between the two countries.
Today, Eritrea is widely known for having horrendous press freedom rankings, consistently ranking at or near the bottom of said rankings. Elections have never been held since independence, and, according to the Human Rights Watch, the Eritrean government's human rights record is one of the worst in the world. The Eritrean government led by Isaias Afwerki has denied these claims.

Strategy[]
HEAVY WIP
Preparation[]
Start off by building 3 electronic factories. Your country starts with +1 Copper, so it is only needed to buy 5, preferably from
Chile, or the
United States if they are not a player, then buy 6
Gold from
Canada or
Zimbabwe. After your electronic factories are finished, sell all the
Electronics to AI countries, 5 per country if you're able to. Optional: Go to polices and enable Advance the Research Bureau. Invest all research power into Research until fully researched
For good stability and more research power go to Economic Laws and put Government Spending and Research Spending on the highest option. Now make as much troops as possible and train them for Arid Specialization.
First Wars[]
Your first task should be conquering a country with a city that has 1 million population atleast, it will allow you to create tanks. Yemen is a good start, as it has 2 of the wanted cities, and is required for a formable. If
Yemen is a player, a good alternative is
Somalia. Justify on
Yemen, and later declare war. Your troops should have Arid specialization by then. Land on a city on the coast, preferably Zabid. Use the AI Luring strategy to kill
Yemen's home guards. They shouldn't take away more than 11k of your infantry. After the home guards are down, wait a few seconds for your infantry to get reinfocements and strike the capital of
Yemen. After that, wait for your infantry to reinforce again to as much as possible, then strike Aden. You might not have enough manpower to reinforce much at this point, but the remaining troops should be enough to finish up
Yemen. Now you can split your infantry into 2 divisions and auto capture. An important thing to remember is that your troops gain experience as they fight, and from taking the capital and Aden alone you would probably have around 20% attack/defense bonus. The auto capturing infantry should be able to finish
Yemen
Soon after you finish conquering Yemen, you should bring all your troops to your capital. Do not disband them, as they can be useful. Build a steel factory and a motor factory, and buy the resources needed for the factories from countries that have them. After they're made, just wait until the unrest in
Yemen is gone. You should then make tanks. If you don't have enough
Oil for it, buy enough
Oil from other countries to cover up your deficit.
