Faroe Islands is a Tier I Nation located in Northern Europe . This nation is not recommended for players as it is near the
United Kingdom and
Norway, who both might want to invade them for their formables.
Background[]
The early details of the history of the Faroe Islands are unclear. It is possible that Brendan, an Irish monk, sailed past the islands during his North Atlantic voyage in the 6th century. He saw an 'Island of Sheep' and a 'Paradise of Birds,' which some say could be the Faroes with its dense bird population and sheep. This does suggest however that other sailors had got there before him, to bring the sheep. Norsemen settled the Faroe Islands in the 9th century or 10th century. The islands were officially converted to Christianity around the year 1000, and became a part of the Kingdom of Norway in 1035. Norwegian rule on the islands continued until 1380, when the islands became part of the dual Denmark–
Norway kingdom, under King Olaf II of
Denmark.
Following the 1814 Treaty of Kiel that ended the dual Denmark–
Norway kingdom, the Faroe Islands remained under the administration of Denmark as a county. During World War II, after Denmark was occupied by Nazi
Germany, the British invaded and occupied the Faroe Islands until shortly after the end of the war. Following an independence referendum in 1946 that took place unrecognized by
Denmark, the Faroe Islands were in 1948 granted extended self-governance with the Danish Realm with the signing of the Home Rule Act of the Faroe Islands.

Geography[]
The terrain is completely Semi-Mountainous, but it's surrounded by sea. The Faroe Islands are surrounded by water, but are off the shore of Norway, the UK and
Iceland.
Cities[]
The Faroe Islands has only one city, that being its capital, Tórshavn.
Formables[]
The Faroe Islands can form:
Forming the
North Sea Empire as the Faroe Islands[]
Firstly, If the UK is a player refer to the strategy. However ideally, if the UK isn't a player don't take it first although this could be dangerous because of the chance of the UK being annexed by France you wouldn't be strong enough at this stage. Justify on
Denmark and Iceland but leave
Norway for last because of the harsh terrain. Once you have annexed
Denmark and
Iceland then make your way to the UK. Annexing the UK shouldn't be difficult if you use AI Luring to kill the home guard.
Taking
Norway[]
You should use a naval formation if you want to annex Norway the most efficient way because of it's shape and spread out cities. You should lay out 20k divisons of infantry on the coast of
Norway then auto capture after killing the home guard. This will make the invasion of
Norway quicker and easier. Once you have taken
Norway, good job you have formed the
North Sea Empire as the Faroe Islands.
Strategy[]
As an island nation, its economy starts out incredibly weak and vulnerable to invasion. The best way to solve that is to trade. As the Faroe Islands you need to work quickly to assure your survival.
You should start out making an electronic factory. Then buying the required resources (2 Gold and 2
Copper) and acquiring factory output 2. Once you have completed your factory construction sell your electronics to an AI country that can afford them such as
India or
Brazil because they are commonly AI.
If the
United Kingdom is an aggressor[]
Use the fact that your an Island to your advantage, make a submarine and strategically place it where the United Kingdom's army is. If this doesn't work out you can also create an Aircraft factory and start using attackers because of the greater damage it inflicts on an army in a boat. Repeat this while continuing to kill whatever the United Kingdom throws at you until they white peace or rage quit against you.
General expansion (ideal game)[]
Refer to the start of the strategy and justify on Denmark and
Sweden because of the easiness and lack of dastardly terrain. Firstly make an army and use AI Luring to take minimal losses while invading
Denmark once you have annexed Denmark create a steel and a motor factory then buy the resources to make them run. Once you have finished the creation of the factories buy some oil and create some tanks. Declare war on neighboring nations until you feel strong enough to declare war on players and then continue until you reach your desired size.
Threats[]
Faroe Islands has a number of threats to it:
- The
United Kingdom may want the Faroe Islands for two reasons: A) Expansion or B) To form the
North Sea Empire. (Uncommon)
Norway may want to form
Norgesveldet, and the Faroe Islands required for that formable. (Rare)
- An aggressive
Canada could also begin an island hopping campaign starting in
Greenland, progressively conquering nations until they reach you. (Rare)
- Any nordic nation in general. (Uncommon)
