— Description of forming Federation of the Andes |
The Federation of the Andes is a formable for Venezuela, added on the November 22nd 2022 update.
Background[]
The Federation of the Andes was a projected state by Simón Bolívar in 1826, which was supposed to include, under his leadership, the emerging republics of Bolivia,
Colombia,
Peru,
Venezuela,
Ecuador,
Panama, the north of
Chile, the Acre region of
Brazil and the city of Filadelfina in
Paraguay.
Bolívar believed that a federation of these three countries would be more viable and powerful than individual nations, and that it would be better equipped to defend against foreign aggression, consolidate democracy, and promote economic growth. The proposed federation was to be based on the principles of popular sovereignty, civil rights, and federalism.
However, the federation never came to fruition, despite Bolívar's efforts. Political divisions, regional interests, and competing ambitions among the leaders of the three countries prevented the formation of the union. Instead, the countries remained independent and developed their own political systems and economies. Nonetheless, the idea of a united South America continued to inspire political leaders and movements throughout the continent, and it remains an important historical and cultural reference point in the region.

Geography[]
Terrain[]
The terrain of the federation is varied. Coast of Venezuela and its state of Amazonas is Hilly, along with central-eastern and the northern tip of Colombia, eastern Panama, and central-western and southwestern Bolivia. Most of the mainland's coastline is Semi-Mountainous, except for the already mentioned northern Colombian tip and the southern Peruvian coastline, which is Mountainous. The area in between the Mountainous southern coastline and the Hilly areas of Bolivia are Semi-Mountainous. Everywhere else is flat.
Biome[]
Jungle is the most abundant biome in the state. Exceptions are northwestern Venezuela, the northern tip of Colombia, the northern Peruvian coastline, and central-western and southeastern Bolivia, which are in the normal biome, and southwestern Bolivia and the southern Peruvian coastline, which are Arid.
Threats[]
Brazil wanting to unite the continent. (common)
Argentina, Colombia, Peru, or Bolivia wanting to make their formables. (uncommon)
Mexico expanding into Panama and beyond. (rare)
Spain recolonizing Latin America to restore the
Spanish Empire. (rare)
Strategy[]
The Federation of the Andes is one of the most difficult formables for a country in South America. As such, some skill and luck is required to form this. Note that if Colombia is a player, it will be almost impossible to form this if the player is good, so you are recommended to switch servers if this happens.
The first thing the player should do is to take Curacao,
Bonaire, and
Aruba. This is because you can seize their treasuries and get some easy money (around 210 million cash, excluding starter treasury). Then, you should annex Colombia. Build about 300k infantry (and set conscription to limited) and lure the Colombian home guard to the semi-mountainous jungle cities where your troops are entrenched. Then, auto capture Colombia. While auto-capturing, ally Brazil or a superpower.
If Brazil declares war, chances to survive are actually decent due to your terrain and biome. Make artillery and station infantry throughout the isolated cities in the jungles and wait for Brazil's troops to die of attrition. You might want to create aircraft so that Brazil's army suffers even more. Brazil will most likely rage quit or white peace you (or even give you the cities needed for your formable!) After the player annexes Colombia, make around 1,000 tanks and attack Panama. Make 100,000 more infantry for Ecuador and Peru and after they are annexed, take Bolivia. You should then stack all of your infantry along Chile's coast and split them all so that they easily take all of Chile's cities.
If Argentina or Brazil are threats and want some of your land, fortify your cities along your borders with them and station infantry along them. Due to the jungle biome and mountainous terrain in Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador, it will be near impossible for them to conquer you. Argentina should be easy to defeat because of their lack of terrain in their important cities most notably their capital, Buenos Aires. If you can, create lots of bombers and bomb Brazil's important cities. You are also recommended to recruit 5 transport planes and attempt to snipe Brazil's capital. If they spam a lot just scorch their capital and they'll collapse sooner or later due to their cities scorched by bombers and their capital burning.
Trivia[]
- The flag of the Federation of the Andes is the same as the old flag of
United States of South America
- When this formable was originally considered, it was known as the Bolivarian republic but was renamed later on to Federation of the Andes.
