Gabon is a Tier II nation located in Africa . It borders
Equatorial Guinea, the
Republic of Congo and
Cameroon.
Background[]
Gabon, officially the Gabonese Republic, is a country on the west coast of Central Africa. Located on the equator, Gabon is bordered by Equatorial Guinea to the northwest, Cameroon to the north and northeast, the Republic of the Congo to the east and south, and the Gulf of Guinea to the west. It has an area of nearly 270,000 square kilometres (100,000 sq mi) and its population is estimated at 2.3 million people. Its capital and largest city is Libreville. Since its independence from France in 1960, the sovereign state of Gabon has had three presidents. In the early 1990s, Gabon introduced a multi-party system and a new democratic constitution that allowed for a more transparent electoral process and reformed many governmental institutions. Abundant petroleum and foreign private investment have helped make Gabon one of the most prosperous countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, with the seventh highest HDI and the fifth highest GDP per capita (PPP) (after Mauritius, Equatorial Guinea, Seychelles, and Botswana) in the region. GDP grew by more than 6% per year from 2010 to 2012. However, because of inequality in income distribution, a significant proportion of the population remains poor. |

Politics[]
Gabon has two formables, those being;
It starts the game as the non-aligned ideology, and starts the game as the Volunteer conscription law.
Strategy[]
- Set your taxation to high, and justify on
Equatorial Guinea and the
Republic of Congo. Make one steel and motor factory, even if they aren't functioning. (You will need them later to make tanks).
- Send your home guard aswell as some recruited troops to the Gulf of Guinea, and invade
Equatorial Guinea. Meanwhile, justify on
Sao Tome and Principe.
- Now, if
Nigeria isn't a player, you are free to invade
Cameroon to acquire a square city so that you can start making tanks. If
Nigeria is a player, make 1-2 Submarines to destroy their limited navy (if they have one), and scorch your newly invaded lands of
Cameroon, and make fortifications on your non-scorched border with
Nigeria.
- Change your ideology to socialist if you haven't already, and take on policies that increase factory output and manpower.
- Once you get around 2,000-3,000 Jungle specialized tanks, declare war on the
Democratic Republic of the Congo. If they're a player, invade some weaker neighbours (
Zambia,
Angola as examples) before taking them on, or make an alliance with them.
- Regardless of your previous steps, get up to 30 units of tanks and 3,000,000,000 with a steady income (Developing Cities) and invade Central Africa, from
Central African Republic to
Kenya, doesn't matter if you take
South Sudan, then invade everything south of Kenya if they're not taken by players.
- By now if you could do all of this, you'd have a good grasp of Africa, and depending on if Nigeria is a good player (or if they ever were a player to begin with), you should begin a plan to invade them, make 50 units of tanks and five Attackers, make some Infantry to take any Anti Aircraft out.
- By now you should be one of the strongest nations, if not, take the rest of Africa and try to get colonies like
Argentina or
Indonesia or
Australia, maybe even
India if it's an AI.
Threats[]
- The
Democratic Republic of the Congo is most of the times a player, and tends to take out Gabon early on. (COMMON)
Nigeria is frequently a player aswell, and may expand southeast after taking out their weaker neighbours to the west. (COMMON)
- While rare, the
Republic of Congo may be a player, and attempt to invade you. (VERY RARE)
Trivia[]
- Gabon used to have a formable called the
Empire of Gabon, howewer it was removed due to not following the suggestion guidelines for formables. (More specifically, for not being a historical state.)
