— Description of forming Guiana Union |
The Guiana Union was a formable for Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. It was located in the Northeast region of South America .
It borders the Atlantic Ocean to the north and east, Brazil to the south, and Venezuela to the west.
Background[]
The Guianas is a sparsely populated region in North-Eastern South America, historically controlled by the Spanish, English, Dutch, French, and Portuguese, with the Spanish region being absorbed by Venezuela and Portuguese region by Brazil. First spotted by Christopher Columbus in 1498, nobody necessarily cared about the region until the 16th century, where explorer, Walter Raleigh began exploration of the region for the long-searched city of El Dorado, supposedly discovering it there, and driving up interest in the Guianas. The Portuguese and Spanish were already located in the area, but Dutch, English, and French settlers eventually arrived in the Guiana region with their indentured servants from around the world, mainly Southeast Asia, Africa, and India, and mainly used their land for trading outposts or plantations. The English colony eventually seceded in 1966, becoming Guyana, the Dutch colony separated in 1975, becoming Suriname, and the French Guiana remains in French hands to this day.
Terrain[]
The terrain in the Guiana Union is all flat. This makes it almost impossible to defend from countries like Brazil and possibly Gran Colombia, so you definitely need some help from your other allies to survive.
Economy and Manpower[]
The economy of the Guiana Union is a pretty bad one, with an income of $205,143 from the people every turn and a maximum manpower cap (25%) of 60,000.
Resources[]
The Guiana Union produces 1.2 units of gold, 4.2 units of aluminum, and 2.7 units of oil.
Threats[]
When it comes to threats, the nations closest to you are the ones you need to watch out for, which is why Brazil, Venezuela, and Colombia are concerns for the Guiana Union. To a lesser extent, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Portugal are concerns because they need parts of the
Guiana Union in order to form their empires.
Trivia[]
- This is a Formable that was never real, which is why it got removed.
- The Guiana Union is still one of the smallest countries in South America even when it's united.
- The Guiana Union is one of the 5 nations in South America that borders the Atlantic Ocean
Strategy[]
This strategy goes for all three countries, although, the best nation to play as when doing this is Suriname due to its boarder connection between Guyana and French Guiana. You will want to form quickly before countries like Brazil and the Europeans want to get your land (You probably won't be their top priority). First create units and build some recruitment centers. Justify on the other two. Your going to have not a lot of manpower so your going to want to lure enemy troops to you by taking a city and entrenching if their A.I. If their not, get help from your allies. Once you destroy all the enemy troops, start taking the cities. All of the counties cities have low populations so you won't need a lot of troops to take them. Then form.
After you have formed the Guiana Union, it is best to go expansionist into the Caribbean, North West Africa, and Central America. This is so you can get resources and tanks. Prepare to invade Venezuela in the process.
