Guides are concise, instructional pages designed to teach players how to understand and use specific game mechanics effectively. They serve as a "how-to" for mastering concepts within the game and can vary in focus from overarching strategies to detailed playstyles.
Framework For Guides[]
This section below details the framework for guides, which is explicitly outlined in this Google document, written by RabbyDevs, the past Head of Wiki, and is now being regulated by the current Head of Wiki, Standoffiish. The introduction of guides is part of a broader effort to significantly overhaul and improve the RoN Wiki.[1]

- Mechanic-Based Guides: Focused on understanding and optimizing specific game mechanics, such as:
- Playstyle Guides: Comprehensive guides that combine elements from multiple mechanics to showcase a specific way of playing, such as the Beginner's Tutorial or advanced economic strategies.
Enhancements for Guides[]
- Integration with Pages: Larger, more general guides can include snippets from other pages with links back to the original content. This approach ensures clarity without overwhelming the reader.
- MiniPage Module: A proposed feature allowing guides to include condensed, expandable snippets of information for better navigation and accessibility. This concept is still under development and will benefit from further feedback and ideas.

Guides will replace the existing "Strategies" section, and other strategy-related articles, by offering a more structured and accessible approach to learning.

Guide Makers[]
Guide Makers are responsible for creating and managing guides, ensuring they are consistent, well-written, and of the highest quality. They work closely with wiki editors to publish their guides on the wiki, as most guide makers do not have wiki editorial experience.
As well as this, they have reaction permissions to messages in the strategies channel of the Official Discord. This is for when individuals send in strategies that they want to suggest for the wiki and Guide Makers are able to accept strategies if they want to be implemented.
Appointment Process[]
The two key requirements to become a guide maker are:
- Proficiency in gameplay knowledge.
- The ability to express and write guides effectively.
Fortunately, wiki editorial experience is not necessary, as this is not their primary focus. If you are interested in becoming a Guide Maker, the application can be found in the RoN Wiki Hub, these are temporarily closed so if you would like to apply, you would need to wait until they open again.
Upon being hired, guide makers receive expanded permissions in the Wiki Hub and gain the exclusive Wiki Contributor role, on the Official Discord. You will also receive a Guide Maker tag on your profile.
