— Description of forming Hunnic Empire |
Hunnic Empire is a formable for Hungary. It spans the Balkans, the Carpathians, and Eastern Europe
, restoring the domain of the Huns.

The Huns were a nomadic people who lived in Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Eastern Europe between the 4th and 6th century AD. According to European tradition, they were first reported living east of the Volga River, in an area that was part of Scythia at the time; the Huns' arrival is associated with the migration westward of an Iranian people, the Alans. By 370 AD, the Huns had arrived on the Volga, and by 430 the Huns had established a vast, if short-lived, dominion in Europe, conquering the Goths and many other Germanic peoples living outside of Roman borders, and causing many others to flee into Roman territory. The Huns, especially under their King Attila, made frequent and devastating raids into the
Eastern Roman Empire. In 451, the Huns invaded the Western Roman province of Gaul, where they fought a combined army of Romans and Visigoths at the Battle of the Catalaunian Fields, and in 452 they invaded the Italian Peninsula. After Attila's death in 453, the Huns ceased to be a major threat to Rome and lost much of their empire following the Battle of Nedao (454?). Descendants of the Huns, or successors with similar names, are recorded by neighbouring populations to the south, east, and west as having occupied parts of Eastern Europe and Central Asia from about the 4th to 6th centuries. Variants of the Hun name are recorded in the Caucasus until the early 8th century.
In the 18th century, the French scholar Joseph de Guignes became the first to propose a link between the Huns and the Xiongnu people, who were the northern neighbours of China from the 3rd century BC to the late 1st century AD. Since Guignes' time, considerable scholarly effort has been devoted to investigating such a connection. The issue remains controversial. Their relationships with other entities such as the Iranian Huns and the Indian Huna people have also been disputed.
Very little is known about Hunnic culture and very few archaeological remains have been conclusively associated with the Huns. They are believed to have used bronze cauldrons and to have performed artificial cranial deformation. No description exists of the Hunnic religion of the time of Attila, but practices such as divination are attested, and the existence of shamans likely. It is also known that the Huns had a language of their own, however only three words and personal names attest to it. Economically, they are known to have practiced a form of nomadic pastoralism; as their contact with the Roman world grew, their economy became increasingly tied with the Roman Empire through tribute, raiding, and trade. They do not seem to have had a unified government when they entered Europe, but rather to have developed a unified tribal leadership in the course of their wars with the Romans. The Huns ruled over a variety of peoples who spoke various languages and some of whom maintained their own rulers. Their main military technique was mounted archery.
The Huns may have stimulated the Great Migration, a contributing factor in the collapse of the Western Roman Empire. The memory of the Huns also lived on in various Christian saints' lives, where the Huns play the roles of antagonists, as well as in Germanic heroic legend, where the Huns are variously antagonists or allies to the Germanic main figures. In Hungary, a legend developed based on medieval chronicles that the Hungarians, and the Székely ethnic group in particular, are descended from the Huns. However, mainstream scholarship dismisses a close connection between the Hungarians and Huns. Modern culture generally associates the Huns with extreme cruelty and barbarism.

Geography[]
Terrain[]
The Carpathian Mountains and the Alps are Mountainous. The only Semi-Mountainous bits are central-eastern and southeastern Serbia, and the area just north of Bucharest but just south of Transylvania. The Sudetenland, southern Munich, the rest of
Serbia except for Vojvodina, the area surrounding Bratislava, and the northwestern area of Transylvania are all Hilly.
Biome[]
Though the Hunnic Empire does not have any permanent biomes, Ukraine, eastern
Hungary, the entire north of
Romania except for a western sliver in Transylvania, all of
Slovakia except for the Bratislava area, and the
Czech Republic experience Mild Winter in November and February. In December-January, the afforementioned areas experience Severe Winter, while the red of the empire experiences Mild Winter.
Strategy[]
Note: these steps can be different from what server you are in, Example: France takes
Germany, or
Poland,
Ukraine, possibly even
Belarus has ambitions to form the
Intermarium.
- You need to make 2-3 electronic factories IMMEDIATELY. (2 is recommended though) Also a Steel Factory and Motor Factory.
- Take
Romania and
Slovakia before somebody else does. Also ally
Germany and maybe ask for
Bavaria's release (Or maybe even
Austria if
Germany took it.) when he leaves.
- Take Serbia. Negotiate with Turkey if they have it.
- Taking
Moldova and
Ukraine will be a pain especially if Russia has it. The best ways are to negotiate or ask for it when Russia (or anyone who has it) leaves. Maybe, just maybe team up against
Russia with your allies. Another potential strategy, is to take Moldova early on. If you are confident in your ability to defend against Russia, you could possibly defend until Ukraine breaks free. This may not happen if they use communism or socialism, but Russia may go the nationalist route instead, which has no war exhaustion reduction. This, however, is risky.
- You have reformed the Hunnic Empire, great job!
Formables[]
- Once formed, you can no longer form the
Kingdom of Hungary and the
Austro-Hungarian Empire, due to them being exclusive formables, and can only continue to form the
European Union.
Threats[]
Germany is your biggest threat as it controls
Bavaria on game-start and will expand further east into
Austria and the
Czech Republic.
Russia needs
Ukraine and
Moldova to form the
Russian Empire or the
Soviet Union, and they will possibly expand into
Romania and further.
Poland needs the
Czech Republic and
Slovakia to form
Zapadoslavia, and
Ukraine for the
Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. (
Slovakia may also form it too.)
- Any Balkan nation needs
Serbia to form the
Balkan Federation.
Greece needs
Serbia to form the
Byzantine Empire and the
Macedonian Empire.
Bosnia and Herzegovina needs
Serbia to form the
Kingdom of Bosnia.
Albania needs
Serbia to form the
Albanian Empire.
Turkey needs
Serbia to form the
Ottoman Empire and it may possibly expand into
Romania and further.
Italy may expand east and could invade
Austria and
Serbia.
- Any Ostrogothic nation willing to form the
Ostrogothic Kingdom.
Belarus needs
Ukraine to form
Ruthenia.
Austria could be a player and needs
Czech Republic,
Slovakia,
Hungary and
Romania to form the
Austro-Hungarian Empire or the
Austrian Empire.
Romania could be a player and needs
Ukraine,
Slovakia,
Hungary,
Serbia, and
Moldova to form the
Kingdom of Dacia.
Ukraine could be a player and needs
Moldova to form
Kievan Rus
- The
Czech Republic or
Slovakia may be a player and might attempt to reunify into
Czechoslovakia.
- If the
Czech Republic is a player, then may also decide to form the
Kingdom of Bohemia, which requires
Austria.
- If the
Serbia could be a player and could restore
Yugoslavia.
