— Description of forming Islamic Caliphate |
The Islamic Caliphate is a formable that can be formed by any Islamic nation, and is mostly made up of the modern day nations that the Umayyad Caliphate controlled at its peak. This means that it stretches over three continents, specifically the Iberian Peninsula and Turkey in Europe
, North Africa in Africa
, aswell as the Middle East in Asia
. It is one of the biggest, aswell as considered to be one of the hardest formables in the game, due to the amount of nations that it requires.
Its famous for being quite rare to see in public servers, aswell as having an extremely high population and manpower capacity. This makes it one of the strongest and best formables to play as.
Some of the more common nations that form the Caliphate are; Egypt,
Turkey,
Pakistan,
Iran, and
Saudi Arabia. Again, however, most Islamic nations can form it.
Background[]
A caliphate is an Islamic state under the leadership of an Islamic steward with the title of caliph, a person considered a politico-religious successor to the Islamic Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and a leader of the entire ummah (Muslim community), The Caliphs were to be chosen through shura, a process of community consultation that some consider to be an early form of Islamic democracy. Historically, the caliphates were polities based on Islam which developed into multi-ethnic trans-national empires, During the medieval period, three major caliphates succeeded each other: the Rashidun Caliphate (632–661), the Umayyad Caliphate (661–750), the Abbasid Caliphate (750–1258), In the fourth major caliphate, the Ottoman Caliphate, the rulers of the Ottoman Empire claimed caliphal authority from 1517, Throughout the history of Islam, a few other Muslim states, almost all hereditary monarchies, such as the Mamluk Sultanate (Cairo) and Ayyubid Caliphate have claimed to be caliphates, Prior to the rise of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Arab tribes followed a pre-Islamic Arab polytheism and lived as self-governing sedentary and nomadic tribal communities, Following the early Muslim conquests by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the region became politically unified under Islam, there were 4 caliphates, dominating the Middle east and before the fourth caliphate, the Ottoman Empire, which collapsed in 1923, The Rashidun Caliphate (The first Caliph was Abu Bakr) led the growth of Islam following the death of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), in which later conquered the Sassanid Empire, under its height under Uthman, it stretched from Persia to Cyrenaica, its greatest general, Khalid ibn Al Walid won several battles which contributed to its mass expansion. Later on, the Umayyads rose to power, and the capital changed to Dimashq (Damascus), who further expanded the Muslim world and conquered the Iberian Peninsula, establishing Al-Andalus and as a result of their conquests, the Umayyad Caliphate became the 6th largest empire in human history, spanning from Western India to the Iberian Peninsula, later on, the Abbasid Revolution begun and the Umayyads were reduced to Al-Andalus in which they established the Emirate of Qurtubah (Córdoba), The Abbasid Caliphate brought upon the Islamic Golden Age, an age full of scientific inventions and growth of the Muslim world with Baghdad becoming capital, The House of Wisdom was built in Baghdad which was a massive library with several books of scientific inventions, Harun al Rashid being among the greatest caliphs of the Abbasid Caliphate, The Abbasid Caliphate lasted for the longest whilst several others also claimed the Caliphate, Eventually Baghdad was sacked by the Ilkhanate and the Caliphate spread to the Mamluk Sultanate of Cairo till it was conquered by the Ottomans under Selim the Grim who then claimed the Caliphate for the Ottoman Empire. However, many of these Caliphs except for the Rashidun Caliphs broke the many laws of Islam which led to the rise of independent kingdoms. |
Base Statistics[]
Having control over the entire Islamic world, its no surprise that the Caliphate has an extremely high population of 284,359,762. Most of this comes from either the Iberian Peninsula, Southwest Asia , aswell as the highly populated nations of
Pakistan and
Iran.
Economy[]
For the same reason, it has a tremendously large economy, with a base income of $19,850,633.
Resources[]
Lots of oil.

Geography[]
The Islamic Caliphate has territory spread across three different continents, which makes it encompass an extremely diverse variation of terrain and biome all across its territory.
Terrain[]
Within the Caliphate, Catalonia is flat, the rest of Iberia is mostly Hilly. North Africa
is mostly flat, except for the Mediterranean coast of
Algeria,
Tunisia, and
Morocco, which is Hilly, aswell as Semi-Mountainous deeper in. Southeast Morocco is Mountainous. Eastern
Egypt is Hilly, and the Western coast of the Arabian Peninsula is semi-mountainous.
Turkey has every type of terrain, in waves.
Iran,
Pakistan, and
Afghanistan are extremely diverse on their own, but are mostly semi-mountainous and mountainous.
Biome[]
It only has one, permanent biome, that being Arid. Its found in most regions of the Caliphate that aren't in Europe .
Cities[]
The Islamic Caliphate contains a staggering 607 cities, with 58 surpassing one million population. The Caliphate also contains extremely populous cities, such as Barcelona, Cairo, Karachi, Madrid, Lahore, Istanbul, Tehran and Riyadh.
Strategy[]
One of the best nations to form this is Egypt, Iran or Turkey (even though Pakistan has more population, it doesn't have strategic location and is often invaded by India, meaning it isn't as good as those countries.), for they are in the center of the formable, they have the most resources and they have formables which may help them with stability.
Egypt[]
Mamluk Sultanate[]
Your first challenge would be forming the Mamluk Sultanate. All nations required for this formable are also required for the Islamic Caliphate, so treat this as a steppingstone to your final destination. Justify on Syria and Lebanon first, for you need to beat a guaranteed Turkish player trying to form the Ottoman Empire.
Israel and Jordan should follow, and finally Saudi Arabia.
Arab League[]
Your next goal should be to create the Arab League, a generally rare formable to see. Now you have a tough challenge which you can go about in two ways.
Your first technique is to unite the Arabian Peninsula. Kuwait, U.A.E. and Iraq first, followed by Yemen and Oman and finally Bahrain and Qatar.
The other technique is to go after North Africa . You should only do this if France, Italy, Portugal, Germany, or Spain haven't colonized yet. You will also have to attack Mauritania and Sudan but treat it as a worthy additional challenge.
Whichever technique you choose, do the other one straight after. But what if the Europeans have already colonized North Africa ? You can either get on with Turkey and Iran while waiting for them to leave, or if you think you can take them down, do it.
Islamic Caliphate[]
Yay! You are now at your last stretch. Gibraltar should be pretty easy to take, and hopefully Turkey too. Spain and Portugal should follow, and then Afghanistan and Pakistan. But what if there is a Maurya Empire? If they are A.I you should have enough strength to take them down. If they are falling apart, you just need to wait. If they aren't, you will need to do some diplomacy. After this you should be able to form.
Iran[]
Khwarazmian Dynasty[]
Your first target is the Khwarazmian Dynasty, for stability. Build electronic factories and sell them into A.I.s to boost income. Second, build a civillian factory for more stability. Your goal is to switch to Socialism and then Communism (when you have enough political power and stability). Research on tank and Infantry mobilities and try to research exoskeletons. Now, justify war on Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. Prepare 7 divisions of tanks, and 400K infantry (split into 4). Now Attack Afghanistan by using your troops to avoid their attrition, after you defeat them, well done, you have united the 2 mountainous Arid nations. Send the troops to Turkmenistan after healing, you will melt them, now justify war on Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, use the same strategy against Turkmenistan for both of them. Now after that, justify war on Kyrgyzstan, auto capture them, and you formed the Khwarazmian Dynasty. Turn Government spending to Low. Now you should be very stable, so increase taxes by a bit.
Persian Empire[]
Your next challenge is to form the Persian Empire, a rare formable to find in public servers. Prepare 6 more divisions of tanks and 200K more infantry (split into 2). Justify war on Pakistan and Iraq. Lure Pakistan’s home guard by using your infantry, then send in the tanks. Their home guard would die, now capture the cities, and siege their capital, and then capture it. Use the same strategy against Iraq. Now destroy Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Jordan, they are easy to take, then justify war on Turkey. Lure their home guard with tanks and then you destroy them, now split your tanks (7 divisions) into 4 and send them on separate directions. Naval attack western Turkey. Take their capital and annex them. Now justify war on Cyprus and auto capture it. Then destroy Kuwait, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Justify war on Egypt, lure their home guard and ravage them. You can now form the Persian Empire and get the Shah Title! But it’s not over. Research the Tax Collection, Infantry, and Tank Trees until you reach Tax Collection 5, Cybernetic Implantations, and Tank Firepower 3+.
Islamic Caliphate[]
Now your final challenge is the Islamic Caliphate. Buildup 10 divisions of tanks and 200K more infantry (split into 2). Justify war on Saudi Arabia, then declare war. Now send your troops, destroy their home guard by entrenching your troops at a city, then follow the cycle of Capture and Entrench. Be patient! After you annexed Saudi Arabia, you have an abundance of oil. Make 4 destroyers, 2 battleships, and 1 submarine, and sell some oil to rarely attacked A.I.s (such as Brazil). When you have a strong fleet, justify war on Spain and Portugal. Send your ships to Portugal, then attack Spain, send your 1200 division tanks. Now you destroyed the Iberian Nations. Now Justify war on Morocco, sending your fleet and attack them, and destroy them, research some naval technology.
Turkey[]
You have to act fast and even not doing 1 step of this strategy can result in failure. Immediately make 4 electronic factories and justify on Cyprus and Lebanon (If Iran is a player Iraq and Kuwait, if Egypt is a player Syria and Cyprus, if both are players then justify on Iraq and Syria). After this your goals are to get tanks, conquer all of Arabia and hopefully the Middle East (Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan), Also getting an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf should be a top priority.
Second Stage[]
In this you will conquer all of the needed African countries. Take Egypt as they probably left because you conquered a lot of stuff they probably wanted. Bribe or Bargain for countries Europeans took. If you do not have any other options invade them but let them have the core cities once you finish (but if its Spain annex all of them as well as Portugal). After this you can swiftly invade the rest of North Africa and move on to the third stage.
Third Stage[]
Here you will take everything else needed. Justify on Iran and use the Caspian Sea to take Tehran. If they use artillery in the mountains make a landing somewhere in the Persian Gulf and use your aircraft carrier to take out infantry. Split up the tanks and conquer all of Iran. Now you invade Afghanistanand Pakistan. It should not be that hard because they will most likely be AI.
Fourth Stage[]
If India owns them, you should be able to Bargain due to your dominance across Africa and Asia
. If you have to war with them, use your naval capabilities and cripple them. Make 5-8k tanks in Iran/Afghanistan and make Arid specialization. Now get a smaller 3-4k tank division and head it straight for a large city. Split up the tanks and attack. While they are busy fighting that, take those 5-8k tanks and rage to Delhi.
Last Stage[]
If you have not conquered the Iberian Peninsula yet, it will be easy due to your immense power. After you have conquered all countries in the peninsula, you can from the Islamic Caliphate. Congrats!
Afghanistan[]
Afghanistan is not a recommended country to form the Islamic Caliphate due to lower MP and population compared to other nations. However, it does have a lot of formables which can bring some much-needed stability during the long process of forming the Islamic Caliphate. Nationalism is a recommended ideology as it will help your stability during wars.
Durrani Empire[]
This formable only needs 1 other nation. Unfortunately, that nation is Pakistan. While waiting for the justification process to finish, start trading with other nations for resources and secure diplomatic relations with other nations. Switch your Army doctrine to Massed Attack.
Select all your cities and spawn troops. Damages your MP, I know, but you're going to need a LOT of troops to take Pakistan. Train all your troops for Mountainous Specialization and after they're done, group them together. Once you are ready, declare war on Pakistan and launch an offensive on its capital Islamabad with ALL your troops. After the capital is taken, wait for its troops to attack back. After the battle, do not attack any other cities until your troops have healed then take all the square cities one-by-one except for Karachi, its biggest citie. Auto-capture the smaller cities and in your peace terms select Karachi. After the war, form the Durrani Empire.
As soon as the Pakistani war starts, justify a conquest war against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Maldives. It's also recommended to justify a war on the UAE if you plan to invade Iran next.
Taking Bases[]
The next formable will either be the Hotak Dynasty or the Mughal Empire, depending on whether you think India or Iran will be easier to take. However before trying to form those, it is recommended to take some smaller nations for bases and assuming you followed the above directions you are just ready for that!
Use the same tactics for Pakistan on Bangladesh but instead of attacking its capital, attack a random city first as the capital is where the Bangladeshi troops are occupied. Once the battle is over, take the capital and square cities one at a time and auto-capture the rest. You can use the same tactics on Sri Lanka if you want, but you shouldn't have to as Sri Lanka is much weaker than Bangladesh and Pakistan; same with the UAE if you plan to take it.
As for the Maldives, just bombard them with a destroyer until their troops are eradicated. Now you have bases around the Indian Ocean which can be used to launch invasions from all sides of India or Iran.
Hotak Dynasty[]
If Iran is a player, skip to the strategy for the Mughal Empire.
Like the Durrani Empire, this formable only requires one other nation. Unfortunately, that nation is Iran. If you haven't already, justify a conquest war against Iran and make tanks and more troops (if the UAE is integrated enough, spawn them there). Train your tanks and new troops with Arid Specialization once again.
Time for Operation PAIN (Painful Announcement of Iran's Neutralization)! Declare war on Iran once you are ready. Send your largest division of tanks to a random city in Iran to AI lure their troops and then send your largest division of infantry to their capital. Hold on, don't send them straight to the capital! Instead, move your troops city-to-city until you reach the city closest to Tehran and wait for your troops to heal. Once they have healed, take the capital.
As for your other troops and tanks, well you're going to have to go through a mess of switching from auto-capture to manually moving them. Auto-capture the small cities until you get close to a square city and then, once your troops have healed, take the square city. Sounds bad? Wait until you have to repeat the process 6 times!
After the war, send your terms to Iran and form the Hotak Dynasty to get that sweet +10 stability boost. You're probably gonna need that, cause your population might have some slight unrest...
Mughal Empire[]
Well, how'd your invasion of Iran go? Or are you here because Iran was a player, and you didn't want to get the crap beat out of you? Well either way, enough about Iran! Now you're going to have to take a monster nation known as INDIA!
Wait, India isn't needed for the Islamic Caliphate why is this here? Well, that my friend is because forming the Mughal Empire will give you a MASSIVE boost in forming the Islamic Caliphate and you'll most likely be at least 3rd most powerful nation in-game. Now, stop wasting my time before the wiki admins ban me for putting useless filler here and let me explain the strategy!
If you haven't already, start spawning tanks and extra infantry and train your troops Afganistan/Pakistan for Arid Specialization and your troops in Bangladesh for Jungle Specialization and make at least 1 destroyer. Now, there are a few islands off the coast of India and you're going to place your destroyer in-between them and the mainland. Once you have finished your war preparations, declare war on India. Operation PAIN (Painful Announcement of India's Neutralization) has begun!
Send some troops to the islands your destroyer is guarding, and watch India attempt to fight back. India will send troops to the island, and they will get OBLITERATED by your destroyer. Now, that you have taken care of the Indian troops we can continue Operation PAIN! From those islands, launch an invasion of India's southernmost square cities; with your Bangladeshi troops, invade India's small square cities and with your Afghan/Pakistani troops city hop to India's capital where, once your troops heal from the journey, you will take the capital.
After capital has been taken, use the same tactics as you did for Pakistan and take all the cities except for the ridiculously large ones. Select all remaining cities in your peace terms. Now you can form the Mughal Empire!
Couldn't invade Iran before? Now you will dominate them...
Kushan Empire[]
If Russia has taken the Central Asian countries for the Russian Empire/USSR skip this part.
Before we continue to the rest of the Middle East and North Africa, there's one more thing we need to do. Now that you're a superstate you can crush virtually any nation and that is what you'll be doing to the poor Central Asian countries. None of them are needed for the Islamic Caliphate but if anyone in the Middle East fights back against you, they'll lose miserable due to the sheer size of the Mughal and Kushan Empires combined.
With plenty of MP to spare, all you really need to do the countries required for the Kushan Empire is auto-capture them with Arid Specialization. If needed, you can refer to the previous parts of this strategy for help in taking over them.
Well, assuming you didn't skip any parts of the strategy, you went from a tiny landlocked country to an empire the size of three other historical Empires. Now you can advance west and reinstate the Islamic Caliphate!
Remaining Nations[]
The first nation you should invade next is Turkey. This is because at this point, they most likely control Iraq, Syria, Israel, Palestine and Lebanon. If Turkey is under the control of a different nation than try diplomacy to get it and if that doesn't work, well you're pretty much strong enough to annex it anyways.
Simply auto-capture all of Turkey's small cities and invade its square cities one-by-one except for Istanbul which you can select in your peace terms.
The Middle East[]
If Iraq, Syria, Israel, Palestine and Lebanon are somehow still independent use the same tactics on them as Turkey and invade Oman in the same way. For Yemen, take its island city first and defeat its troops with a destroyer before taking the rest of the nation. For Bahrain and Qatar, use the same tactics on them as you did on the Maldives.
Now you have Saudi Arabia surrounded on all sides. Declare war on them and auto-capture the rest of the country from all sides after you have defeated their troops via AI luring. You can leave a few square cities alone and annex them via peace terms.
North Africa[]
This will be slightly more irritating as North African countries are big and have harsh terrain and have a good chance to be invaded by European countries. If any of the countries, you need are already taken over you can try negotiating with the nation in control of it, but it is highly likely that you may need to annex the nation in charge of it.
The first nation you should invade is Egypt. Egypt is a very powerful country, but it can still be defeated. Attack Egypt's southernmost coastal city and place a destroyer near it. Egypt's troops will exit via the Suez Canal and will get eradicated once they are within range of your navy. Take its settlements along the Nile River and send a lot of tanks to take its Capital once your troops in the Nile arrive in Cairo. After the capital has fallen, auto capture the rest of the nation.
For now, skip Libya and invade Tunisia instead. This will allow you to close in on Libya from both sides and after you have defeated Tunisia, do just that. Libya should fall fairly quickly. Skip Algeria and invade Morocco the same way you did Tunisia. Once Morocco has fallen, close in on Algeria from both sides. While fighting Algeria, use destroyers to weaken its troops.
Europe[]
Just Gibraltar, Spain and Portugal left! Declare war on Gibraltar and quickly annex it. Next you should attack Spain. Spain at this point has likely been invaded by France so be prepared to fighting for much longer. Invade Corsica and use destroyers to defeat France's troops and invade the rest. If Spain is not a part of France, use the same tactics but on Canary Islands. Once again use the same tactics on Portugal but with Azores.
Congratulations, you have formed the Islamic Caliphate as Afghanistan!
