Jersey is a one city island nation country located in Europe. It is one of the smaller nations in Europe in size, though has above 100,000 population in real life (105.5K in 2017). Jersey, Unique to other Nations, Jersey is a Bailiwick, which is a place that is run by a Bailiff. Similarly to Guernsey and The Isle of Man, Jersey is a British Crown dependency which are self-governing possessions of the British Monarchy.

Jersey (/ˈdʒɜːrzi/ JUR-zee, French: [ʒɛʁzɛ] (listen); Jèrriais: Jèrri [ʒɛri]), officially the Bailiwick of Jersey (French: Bailliage de Jersey; Jèrriais: Bailliage dé Jèrri), is an island country and self-governing Crown Dependency near the coast of north-west France. It is the largest of the Channel Islands and is 14 miles (23 km) from the Cotentin Peninsula in Normandy. The Bailiwick consists of the main island of Jersey and some surrounding uninhabited islands and rocks including Les Dirouilles, Les Écréhous, Les Minquiers, and Les Pierres de Lecq.

Jersey was part of the Duchy of Normandy, whose dukes became kings of England from 1066. After Normandy was lost by the kings of England in the 13th century, and the ducal title surrendered to France, Jersey remained loyal to the English Crown, though it never became part of the Kingdom of England.

Strategy

This strategy is highly reliant on France or the United Kingdom not killing you early on but there is a way to survive that attack. You should try to ally the United Kingdom or France, but Germany and Spain is also acceptable. Enact the policy Improve Infrastructure. Build an electronic factory and wait until right before the completion of said factory to buy 2 gold and 2 electronics (due to deficit if you buy to early) or research the economic branch and research tax increase or factory output increase. This is where the strategy splits into A and B.

• If A, the United Kingdom and/or France allies you, you should have pretty much free reign to become an economic power. First sell said ~5-7 electronics to ai and buy 4 iron, 0.2 titanium to build a steel factory. After, wait for the factory to be complete and build a motor factory and buy 2 tungsten.
• If B, no nations ally, you should sell ~5-7 electronics and try to build artillery if France and a frigate for the United Kingdom to hold of the invading force. If it was the United Kingdom who justified send the frigate out and build another one. This is because a dumb player would send the entire UK army to your frigate, but if a smart player was going after you, they would send one unit after your frigate to bait it, and then send a larger force to your capital, and if you don't have a second ship, your defeated. If France has justified, you should split your main troop, train it and hopefully they only send one infantry unit or else your dead. If both justified, there's little to no hope unless both are dumb players where you follow both of the strategies to try to avoid being killed.

Now, if you survived part B, you are probably already in control of the United Kingdom or France. If your in control of the United Kingdom you can likely bargain for Normandy since France would likely be your ally if you had invaded the United Kingdom and survived. But if you invaded France, just tell your ally to leave Normandy. Then invade Guernsey and you can form the Duchy of Normandy. You've officially dominated your biggest enemies! (Part 2 of A TBA)

Terrain and Biome / Geography

Jersey does not hold any terrain or biome due to it being a small city state.

Jersey is also an island, so it has no land borders but is close to France, Guernsey, and the United Kingdom. Guernsey and France are close enough to attack your country without having to use a Transport.

Threats

• France wishing to invade you for your treasury which is very likely at the start of the game. (common)
• The United Kingdom wanting to invade you for land near France. (semi-common)
• Guernsey might want to also form the Duchy of Normandy and invade you (very rare)
• Other large European nations like Spain or Italy and Germany wanting your treasury. (very, very rare)
