The Kingdom of Bosnia, or Bosnian Kingdom, was a medieval kingdom that lasted for nearly a century, from 1377 to 1463, and evolved out of the Banate of Bosnia, which itself lasted since at least 1154.
Tvrtko had the strongest claim to the royal title at that time, and even if he had no practical means to rule Serbia, it allowed him to elevate Bosnia to a kingdom, as this would imply more formal independence. The Royal Charter issued to the Ragusan commune on 10 April 1378 stands as one of the key sources for understanding the position of medieval Bosnian banate and its transformation to the kingdom, as well as information about economic activity between Bosnia and Ragusa, and proof of Bosnian independence. Feudal fragmentation remained important feature in Bosnia and the Bosnian nobility held significant power, exercising it at the Stanak meetings. The Stanak is the most common name used to refer to the assembly of nobility in medieval Bosnia, and it is first attested in the charter of Tvrtko I in 1354. Its influence peaked between the 1390s and the 1420s. The existence of the stanak proved a unity and feeling of belonging to a Bosnian identity and integrity, but also it illustrated weakness of the monarch and decentralization of the state. Hungarian rulers perceived Bosnia as a country under their sovereignty during medieval time, however, Bosnian sovereignty and independence is nevertheless undeniable. Bosnian rulers acted completely independently in carrying out state and diplomatic affairs, governing the judicial system, granting towns and estates, minting coins, exploiting natural resources, and making trading agreements with other countries and independent cities. |

Threats[]
If you aim to form the Kingdom of Bosnia, the threats are: (but not limited to)
- People sometimes play as
Serbia.
Serbia can form
Yugoslavia, which requires
Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, they start off with the same strength as you, so with enough preparation and use of strategies, they should not be a difficult threat.
Turkey players may want to form the
Ottoman Empire. This formable requires
Bosnia and Herzegovina, however given the distance from
Turkey, the player should be able to form the
Kingdom of Bosnia before
Turkey invades.
Italy may generally expand into the Balkans or form the
Roman Empire, but this is quite rare. But in most instances, they will invade
Slovenia and
Croatia first.
Austria or
Hungary may want to form the
Austro-Hungarian Empire. Like
Serbia, they have the same strength as you, including the fact that they are as threatened by major powers as you. Not a very major threat but keep watch for suspicious activities.
- Any nation wanting and able to form the
Balkan Federation or the
European Union.
- Sometimes,
Slovenia will become a player, and may be aiming to form
Illyria.
Slovenia is generally weak and usually threatened by
Italy,
Austria and
Hungary, so it shouldn't be much of a problem.
Slovenia,
San Marino,
Monaco and
Croatia need you to form
Ostrogothic Kingdom, but you are generally either stronger or just as strong as them, so they are not a problem. Furthermore, they are usually threatened by
Italy, with
Monaco ALSO getting the extra threat of
France.
Hungary needs you for the
Kingdom of Hungary, but they are usually unable to form this due to the aforementioned formable needing
Carpathian Rus, which is often taken by either
Russia or
Poland.
Poland,
Belarus and
Ukraine need you in order to form
Intermarium.
Montenegro needs you for the
Princedom of Duklja.
Cities[]
Kingdom of Bosnia has 24 cities. The most populated city is Belgrade, which is in Serbia.
Resources[]
Kingdom of Bosnia produces:
Strategy[]
First, use up your Manpower on creating infantry. If Croatia and/or
Serbia are players, create Artillery and (optionally) build forts on the borders. Make an alliance with strong nations, like
Germany for defense from countries who usually invade the Balkans. If
Croatia and
Serbia are not player-controlled, attack them fast before somebody may play as them. After that, attack
Montenegro. Then, the player can form The Kingdom of Bosnia.
Geography[]
Kingdom of Bosnia is entirely hilly due to the Dinaric Alps. It has no biome, but some parts of the formable are subject to Winter. It borders Austria and Hungary to the north, Slovenia to the northwest, Romania to the east, Bulgaria to the southeast, Albania and North Macedonia to the south, and the Adriatic Sea and Italy just across the sea to the west.
