— Description of forming Kingdom of Georgia |
The Kingdom of Georgia is a formable in Eurasia that that is formed by Georgia. The formable requires
Georgia to take over
Azerbaijan and
Armenia. An exclusive formable for the Kingdom of Georgia is
Transcaucasia, meaning that players cannot form the Kingdom of Georgia if
Transcaucasia has already been formed in the server and vice versa.
Because of the small size if Georgia and the fact it's usually AI, a Kingdom of Georgia is a rare sight on any server. Most of the time, the Caucasus will be conquered by Russia before they can even attempt to unite. A powerful Kingdom of Georgia is a sign of an experienced player with good diplomatic skills and strategy.
Background[]
The Kingdom of Georgia was a medieval kingdom which was founded circa 1008 and ended in the year 1490. It reached its Golden Age during the reigns of King David IV and Queen Tamar the Great from the 11th to 13th centuries, spanning across the entirety of the Caucasus and having a network of tributaries from eastern Europe to Anatolia to northern Iran. It was the main precursor of the modern nation of Georgia. In the 13th century, it was conquered by the
Mongol Empire, however it managed to re-assert its sovereign in the 1340s. It would never recover as the decades following were marked by the Black Death and invasions led by Timur. By the end of the 15th century, the Kingdom of Georgia was fractured and was eventually split into 3, later 5 semi-independent principalities.
Economy and Manpower[]
The country has a decent economy and decent manpower. It gains $530,203 every turn from taxes and resources, and its manpower capacity is 128,615 (2%).

Geography[]
Terrain[]
The terrain of the Kingdom of Georgia is diverse, consisting of hills and mountains varying in size. North and East Georgia is completely Mountainous, with the rest being Semi-Mountainous. Armenia and west Azerbaijan are also Semi-Mountainous, while the area surrounding Baku is Hilly. This harsh terrain makes the country a pain to invade, and a smart player can prevent defeat from Russia,
Turkey, or
Iran by using mountain artillery.
Biome[]
The Kingdom of Georgia has a normal biome.
Borders[]
The Kingdom of Georgia is bordered by Russia to the North,
Turkey to the Southwest, and
Iran to the Southeast. To the West, it's bordered by the Black Sea, while to East is the Caspian Sea. Georgia's stronger neighbors make it a hard country to play, as all of them want to control the Caucasus' valuable resources.
Population[]
The Kingdom of Georgia has 31 cities with 6,430,715 people. Its largest city is Baku (2.1 million), followed by Tbilisi and Yerevan. Those three largest cities are the only ones in the Kingdom of Georgia that start out as II-tier.
Out of its 31 cities, 5 are ports. Three are on the Black Sea and two are on the Caspian Sea. Its Black Sea ports give the country access to the wide ocean.
Resources[]
The Kingdom of Georgia produces 6 units of Oil every turn. It also produces the following metals every turn: 2 units of Gold, 2 units of iron, and 2 units of Copper. Georgia's natural resources, when traded, allow it to gain quite a lot of money for a small nation. The country also has enough gold and copper to produce resources in Electronic Factories.
Strategy[]
Because of its small population, weak economy, and powerful neighbors, Kingdom of Georgia is an easy Formable to create, but hard to maintain. However, it can be a fun challenge to experienced players. Below are strategies to dominate the Caucasus and turn it into a powerful country. The upside is that your main threat: Russia, their first move will most likely not be to try and take you, so you have some time to conquer the great mountains!
Forming the Kingdom[]
- Immediately justify war against
Armenia and
Azerbaijan. You need to unite the Caucasus quickly while your neighbors are focused on other tasks.
Russia will be in Europe or
Kazakhstan during this time.
Turkey will try to gain land in Europe, and
Iran will usually try to take out Syria. This gives you valuable time to unite.
- Do not waste money and time on purchasing resources for factories. This can be done later, right now your focus is to gain land.
- Invade
Armenia and then
Azerbaijan. Use Artillery to soften up their Infantry, then send in everything you have to achieve victory as soon as possible. Annex them and take the Caucasus!
Surviving as the Kingdom of Georgia[]
- After the formation of the Kingdom of Georgia, use its natural resources to build an Electronics factory.
- You will need at least two of your neighbors to be your ally. When allying, go for the strongest one first, unless you have other plans. You can trade your electronics and oil to secure alliances with neighbors.
- After the treaties are signed and the borders are secure, you can relax. Import resources, build factories, sell consumer goods, and create a strong economy. Invest money in new technologies, develop your cities for more taxes and manpower.
- When you have a well-trained army of at least 100 thousand men, you will need to expand. Choose a small, weak AI country that hasn't been invaded yet. Usually, they are in Africa. Send your troops through allied territory and invade the country you want. From that point, use your new colony as a base to expand your empire!
Threats[]
- Any nation attempting to form Transcaucasia. (UNCOMMON)
- Russia is your biggest threat while trying to form this, as they require you and all the formable's requirements for the Soviet Union and the Russian Empire. (VERY COMMON)
- Iran requires you for the Persian Empire. (UNCOMMON)
- Uzbekistan requires you for the Timurid Empire. (VERY RARE)
- Italy if it wants to form the Roman Empire. (VERY RARE)
- Turkey invading Caucasia (if Russia has not), after potentially forming the Ottoman Empire. (COMMON)
- Mongolia attempting to form the Mongol Empire after potentially forming the Yuan Dynasty. (EXTREMELY RARE)
Trivia[]
- The formable was originally in the "Releasable Formables" document, including a former releasable (Western Armenia), before being moved to #considered-formables due to not including any releasables anymore.
