— Description of forming Kingdom of Jerusalem |
The Kingdom of Jerusalem was a formable located in Asia and Europe
. To form, you have to annex Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and Cyprus. It borders Turkey, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Background[]
The Kingdom of Jerusalem, also known as the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem, was a crusader state established in the Southern Levant by Godfrey of Bouillon in 1099 after the First Crusade.
The kingdom lasted nearly two hundred years, from 1099 until 1291 when the last remaining possession, Acre, was destroyed by the Mamluks. Its history is divided into two distinct periods. The First Kingdom of Jerusalem lasted from 1099 to 1187, when it was almost entirely overrun by Saladin.
After the subsequent Third Crusade, the kingdom was re-established in Acre in 1192, and lasted until that city's destruction in 1291, except for the two decades after Frederick II of Hohenstaufen reclaimed Jerusalem, placing it back in Christian hands after the Sixth Crusade.
This second kingdom is sometimes called the Second Kingdom of Jerusalem or the Kingdom of Acre, after its new capital. Most of the crusaders who settled there were of French or Norman origin.
Terrain, Biomes, and Neighbors[]
The Kingdom of Jerusalem borders Egypt,
Saudi Arabia,
Iraq, and
Turkey as neighbors. As for terrain, the only notable feature are the hilly areas in
Lebanon, and the only biome is obviously the Arid biome, due to the location of the Kingdom of Jerusalem being in the Middle East region.
Economy and Manpower[]
The population of the Kingdom of Jerusalem is 21,167,768 million people, which also gives the country a MP Cap of 1,058,389. The economy of the Kingdom of Jerusalem mostly comes from population taxes, contributing to the total economy which gains 1,139,352 dollars every turn. Although the MP Cap and Economic Power of the Kingdom of Jerusalem can be sustainable, it would be wise to expand further into other territories, as you are still pretty weak at base form.
Resources[]
Strategy[]
If playing as Israel you will have two immediate threats, Turkey and Egypt.
Try to ally with either one of these, if they both reject your offer, it will be very difficult to defend against them because any other ally is either too weak or too far away.
Defending against both Turkey and Egypt is virtually impossible with Israel's manpower and income at the start game. Try to improve your economy and manpower gain and cap.
If you're Israel and can ally one of them, better even both, simply invade each state required to form with roughly 80-120k infantry.
A frigate might make invading Cyprus a little bit easier, as the frigate will be able to weaken the Cypriot defenses, paving the way for your infantry.
If playing as Cyprus, ally Egypt, which they will likely accept as they don't need you to form. It's likely Turkey will want to invade you to make Hittite, and Ottoman Empire so build a navy, either 1 submarine or 2 frigates, and hold off Turkey until your ally can help you.
If the nations you need to form are not invaded, simply invade Syria and Israel, then continue onto Lebanon and Jordan.
Criticism and Removal[]
Overall, to many players on the RoN surface, Kingdom of Jerusalem makes almost no sense for Israel to form, as the formable was a crusader state. During the crusades, the crusaders murdered 1/3 of the Jewish population. It was also confirmed on multiple occasions that the Jews and Muslims fought side by side to protect Jerusalem. The formable was eventually removed on November 21st, 2022, with the Israeli replacement for this formable, the Promised Land of Zion being added on September 5th, 2022. The Cypriot replacement, Outremer is yet to be added into the game.
Threats[]
- Egypt needs Israel for Mamluk Sultanate.
- Turkey needs Syria, Lebanon and Cyprus to form Hittite, and Israel and Jordan to form the Ottoman Empire.
- Iraq needs Israel and the Kingdom of Jerusalem's requirements to form both Babylonian Empire and Assyria.
- Saudi Arabia, Algeria, and any other nation willing to form the Islamic Caliphate.
- United Kingdom needs Israel, Jordan and Cyprus to form the British Empire.
- France needs Syria and Lebanon to form the French Empire.
- If you are playing as Cyprus then Israel is also considered a threat because it is stronger than you in all categories.
- Malta needs Cyprus and Israel to form Knights Hospitaller.
- A rare occurrence but Italy may want to restore the Roman Empire.
- Another rare occurrence is Russia trying to expand in the Middle East.
- India may expand past Iran or may invade Saudi Arabia to take more resources (RARE).
- Iran needs all of the Kingdom of Jerusalem's requirements to form the Persian Empire.
