— Description of forming Kingdom of Luanda |
The Kingdom of Luanda was a formable in Africa, formed by Angola. It borders Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, South Sudan, Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was removed from the game on the update of November 11, 2022, along with many other African formables.
Background[]
The Nation of Luanda was a confederation of states in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo, north-eastern Angola, and north-western Zambia, its central state was in Katanga.
Initially, the core of what would become the Lunda confederation was a commune called a N'Gaange in the kiLunda language. It was ruled over by a monarch called the Mwane-a- n'Gaange. One of these rulers, Ilunga Tshibinda, came from the nation of Luba where his brother ruled and married a royal woman from a nation to their south. Their son became the first paramount ruler of the Lunda, creating the title of Mwane-a-Yamvu.
The Lunda Kingdom controlled some 150,000 km2 by 1680. The state doubled in size to around 300,000 km2 at its height in the nineteenth century. The Mwane-a Yamvo of Lunda became powerful militarily from their base of 175,000 inhabitants.
The Lunda people were able to settle and colonize other areas and tribes, thus extending their kingdom through southwest Katanga into Angola and north-western Zambia, and eastwards across Katanga into what was now the Luapula Province of Zambia. The kingdom became a confederation of a number of chieftainships that enjoyed a degree of local autonomy.
The strength of the kingdom enabled it to conquer the territory of other tribes, especially to the east. In the eighteenth century a number of migrations took place as far as the region to the south of Lake Tanganyika.
The kingdom of Luanda came to an end in the nineteenth century, when it was invaded by the Chokwe, who were armed with guns. The Chokwe then established their own kingdom with their language and customs. Lunda chiefs and people continued to live in the Lunda heartland but were diminished in power.
At the start of the colonial era (1884), the Lunda heartland was divided between Portuguese Angola, King Leopold II of Belgium's Congo Free State and the British in North-Western Rhodesia, which became Angola, DR Congo and Zambia respectively.
Economy and Manpower[]
The Kingdom of Luanda has a gross income of $2,203,604 and a population of 31.536,057. Its manpower capacity was 630,723.
Strategy[]
First of all, the player needs Electronic Factories, so build at least 2, then sell the electronics to the AI when they are built. Start making Steel Factories and Motor Factories for tanks. Justify on Zambia and Democratic Republic of the Congo, then build a decent tank army. Remember to buy oil to fuel the tanks. Once the justification for Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zambia was done, declare war on the DRC, and use AI Luring (also use artillery if necessary). After their home guard was defeated, rush to their capital and auto-capture (invading DRC can take a while. The player may invade Zambia in the meantime). When DRC finally collapses, annex it and prepare a invasion for Zambia if the player hasn't. Since Zambia was much weaker than the DRC, the player should expect an easy victory. The player can finally reform the Kingdom of Luanda!
If DRC was a player[]
Things may get a bit difficult here. However, the player does have a chance of winning. Build a line of tanks and place artillery behind the tanks. A navy won't be very important here. If possible, buy aircraft parts from other countries to create attackers, and bombers too if the player still has money. Move the attackers on top of the tanks so they are not that obvious to the DRC player. Create electronic factories and sell the electronics for extra income. Once the war begins, surprise DRC's invading troops with the player's attackers hiding among the tanks. If the player has bombers, move them on top of DRC's factories or their capital. Set the tanks on autocapture and have the artillery follow. If all was done right, this should be an easy victory for Angola.
Threats[]
DRC has lots of infantry and can take a while, can be a larger threat if it's a player.
South Africa may expand more north.
Portugal may form the Portuguese Empire.
