— Description of forming Kingdom of Mutapa |
The Kingdom of Mutapa is a formable that can be only formed with Zimbabwe based on the pre-colonial southern African kingdom of the same name.
Background[]
The Kingdom of Mutapa was a successor to the previous Great Zimbabwe Kingdom, originally extending from the Indian Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. By 1515, however, In 1561, a Jesuit managed to make the king convert to Christianity, causing the Muslim merchants to persuade the king into killing the Jesuit just a few days after the Mwenemutapa's baptism, causing the Portuguese to go in and take control of the natural resources of the area, going up to the Zambezi. In the end, however, it was internal conflict that caused Mutapa to fall, with it becoming a Portuguese vassal after a failed attempt to kick the Portuguese out of the area, with the kingdom slowly going from a client state to a colony when the Portuguese took control of their trade and trade routes. The kingdom then went back and forth between the hands of the newly formed Rozwi Kingdom and the Portuguese, as neither could control the country for long, however, the Rozwi stopped caring about the area and went their own way, allowing Mutapa to become independent once again in 1720. Despite this regained freedom, however, in 1759, the death of the Mwenemutapa caused a civil war, with the winners controlling even less land, technically ruling independent from the Portuguese while living in the |

Strategy[]
Install fortifications in cities that are close to South Africa. Then, you want to use your surplus in copper and gold to make electronics factories. Use the money from your electronic trades to further fund your border security against South Africa, and also trade resources for tanks. It's after this that you justify on Mozambique before South Africa has the chance. Then, justify on Zambia.
If South Africa has these lands it's highly important that you become stronger than them. Because if you don't you can easily get annexed by South Africa and so you can get the lands you need.
Trivia[]
- The Kingdom of Mutapa never actually had a flag much like others during its time, but had a coat of arms.
