Kuwait is a Tier II nation located on the Gulf Coast of the Arabian Peninsula, Western Asia 
. Kuwait borders 
Saudi Arabia and 
Iraq. Kuwait is normally conquered early in the game by either Iraq, 
Iran, 
Turkey or Saudi Arabia because of how weak it is.

Early in the history of Kuwait, the island of Failaka, just off the coast, was settled by the Ancient Greeks in the 4th century BC. They named it Ikaros and it became a trading center for the area. Later the area would come under the control of the Parthian Empire and then the Sassanid Empire. During the 2nd century the land was known as Hajar. The ancestors of the current Kuwaiti population arrived in the land in the 16th century. They were from the tribe of Nejd and set up the state of Kuwait in 1756. The first Emir of Kuwait was Sabah I bin Jaber. To this day his descendents rule Kuwait as the al-Sabah royal family. In 1899, Kuwait signed an agreement with Britain where Britain would protect them as part of the agreement. Kuwait remained as a protectorate of Britain until 1961 when it became an independent nation. In August 1990 Kuwait was invaded by Iraq. This sparked the First Gulf War when the United States led a United Nations force to remove Iraq from Kuwait. |

- Any other Middle Eastern nation expanding to attack you for their formable for money.
Strategy[]
As Kuwait, you should target 
Qatar, 
Bahrain, the 
UAE, 
Oman, and 
Yemen (aka your local neighbors) if there is no Saudi player. If there is, then be as friendly as possible with them and try to build up your army for an invasion of Iraq. If Saudi is being aggressive, ally the US or another big power if you can scare them, or ally the nearest country that is being controlled by a player, and together try to take down Saudi. After that, keep pushing north. You can then either push towards the east to conquer the Middle East ( Iran, 
Pakistan, and 
India will be your biggest threats in this direction) or towards the west to conquer North Africa, where'll you'll have to compete with expansionist 
Egypt and colonial European countries.

- Kuwait used to have three more formables: Arabia, Bani Utbah, and the Sumerian Empire, but they were removed in the Middle East update.
