Macau is a Tier II nation located in East Asia and the weakest nation in its region. Macau borders China.

Background

Today Macau is considered a special administrative region of China, similar to Hong Kong. Macau maintains its own government including legal system, police force, and money. China is responsible for defense and foreign relations.

In 1516 Portuguese traders arrived in Macau and began to use it as a staging port for trade to China. It is the oldest European settlement in the Far East. In 1849 Portugal proclaimed Macau's independence from the Qing Dynasty. However, it wasn't until 1887 when the Qing Dynasty agreed that Portugal could occupy Macau under and agreement called the Protocol of Lisbon.

During WWII, the Japanese respected Portuguese neutrality in Macau while Hong Kong was occupied. After the war, Macau experienced significant economic breakthroughs owing to the gambling industry. The city experienced many riots during the 1960s as a result of the Cultural Revolution in China.

In 1974, the dictatorial Portuguese government was overthrown by a coup. The new government was committed to decolonization, and so in 1987, Portugal made an agreement with China to transfer Macau back to Chinese sovereignty. Macau was then handed back over to China in 1999 as a special administrative region.

Strategy

At the start of the game, ally China. They will most likely accept your alliance request as they don't need you for a formable. Build an Electronic Factory and sell 15.9 to AI's, Convert all your MP to infantry, after justify on Laos and Cambodia. Use China as your way to go to South East Asia. Declare war on Laos and after you wipe out the army. Split in half 2 times and then Auto Capture. After Laos is done, heal your troops, and attack Cambodia, do the same thing that you did to Laos. Try making factories for tanks or trade for tanks. After you got those sweet tanks, at least Produce 1.2k Tanks. Attack Thailand and Hong Kong. Wipe out their army and Auto Capture, they're usually AI. After that's done, make any tank division for Burma. Declare war on them. Wipe their army and Auto Capture. After you got Burma, make tanks for Vietnam (and trade Oil). 2k tanks is enough for Vietnam. Try to wipe their troops with artillery. After you wipe them out with your army, Auto Capture Vietnam. After you annexed Vietnam, you'll probably be a regional power now.

Pushing South

In this part you will be attacking Indonesia and show China that you are expansionist. Begin Jungle Specializing your troops and then declare on Indonesia when you feel ready. Take out the Home Guard and take all of Indonesia. It would also be a good time to invade the Philippines and East-Timor. Now you can invade Papua New Guinea and also Australia. Make an aircraft carrier if you plan to take all of the small islands. Also invade New Zealand at this time and now you can begin strategizing for India

Showing Indian Weakness

You have proven to be a rising tiger of Asia and now you feel ready to tackle India. Begin by making an Aircraft Carrier if you have not already, 10 submarines, 4 battleships, and 4 destroyers ( Like a wise man said, there is no such thing as a free India). Now once you have done this put Tanks on the border of Bangladesh and see Indian chat responses.

Then you have ran into a diplomat. And because they are not Guatemala screaming at Qing to help against Mexico, you know that they can take advantage of a situation and will quickly mobilize, most of the time you will probably lose as they can be sneaky moving their troops under Papua to attack your capital. But your main goal is to hopefully get a player that will act like Germany or China. Rude, toxic, and uses spamming as their 1 and only strategy.

Now take your aircraft carrier and move it to the Indian City of Kolkata. Move 1 of your subs there as well. now take your battleships and destroyers and divide them evenly together so you have 4 groups consisting of 1 battleship and 1 destroyer. Move them to Eastern Indian Cities and position the rest of you submarines in places to attack troops going over water. Now you can attack by taking at least 1 city of Bangladesh. Get ready and get those tanks ready and jungle specialize them. Now you can invade and attack!

Easy Invasion

Your ships will have wiped away all of their units and you can begin auto capturing India. Not much to say because its that easy. And boom! you have taken out India as Macau!

Threats

Macau is usually conquered by China within the first minutes of the game and Hong Kong if it is a player as well.

Portugal trying to form the Portuguese Empire is another threat, but even more rare than the previous one, as Portuguese Empire requires Brazil, and Portugal is rarely played.
