Alexander the Great's empire is back once more!

Description of forming Macedonian Empire

The Macedonian Empire is a transcontinental formable of Greece and Macedonia. It's one of the largest, aswell as considered to be one of the hardest formables in the game, due to stretching throughout 3 continents, and into regions that other many other nations require for their own formables.

The Macedonian Empire has similar base statistics to that of China's.

When forming the Macedonian Empire in public server, the player will be awarded with the Hegemon title.

The Macedonian Empire, also known as the Hellenistic Empire, was a vast empire that emerged under the leadership of Alexander the Great, who was a Macedonian king and military commander. The empire existed from approximately 336 BCE until Alexander's death in 323 BCE.

Base Statistics[]

Manpower[]

The Macedonian Empire has a base manpower capacity of 4,338,245 on the starting Volunteer conscription law and a manpower gain of 18,892. For comparison, a nation like China has a base manpower capacity of roughly 7,000,000, and a manpower gain of of ~28,000. This makes China, despite the size difference between the formable and the nation, roughly twice as strong militarily as the Macedonian Empire.

Strategy[]

Strategy A:[]

The best country to form the Macedonian Empire as is Greece.

Starting Moves and Destroying Turkey[]

First off, you should build 2 electronics factories, 1 steel, 1 motor, and 1 fertilizer factory. You should also research Factory Output 2. Sell 5 elecs to AIs to get some money and build 1 civilian factory. Sell those goods to AIs in consumer deficit to get even more cash.

If Turkey is a player, start building artillery on your border with them. Make 2 submarines and 1 destroyer in the Aegean Sea to protect your coast. Turkey will most likely declare war on you now. Most Turkey players are very incompetent and they will likely send all of their troops at your subs. When they leave Constantinople unguarded, swoop in and take that rightful Greek territory with tanks! Move your artillery on the border onto Constantinople, and place your destroyer in the Sea of Marmara. Alternatively, you can put your destroyer in the Sea of Marmara at the start of the war, but that risks Turkey making a battleship.

Make more tanks (400-800) and start invading the Aegean coast of Turkey. If Turkey has rage quit, you can auto capture Turkey after destroying the rest of their troops with artillery. You should now take over the Balkans to form the Balkan Federation. Also justify on Cyprus and quickly invade them with tanks. After Turkey has capitulated, form the Byzantine Empire.

If you need more cash to sustain your army, you can always make more consumer goods and sell them to AIs in deficit of them. It is also a good idea to make some consumers to sustain your stability as well. Keep a large army posted in the Balkans at all times.

Invading Egypt and the Middle East[]

For this leg, you should make about 2k tanks, 1k in Athens and 1k in Gaziantep. Train them both for Arid Specialization. Invade Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Israel, and Palestine. Invade as much as you can and don’t worry if anyone else has taken a few of the above countries.

Now, justify on Egypt and Libya. Use all of your Athens division and half of your Gaziantep division to capture Alexandria. If Egypt is a player, you should move your navy to their coast. Invade Libya as well. Egypt players are usually incompetent as well, and they will probably lose.

You should invade from Alexandria, Suez, and Tel-Aviv if Egypt has taken Israel. Your landings in mainland Egypt should be bound to Cairo while your Israeli landing should be bound to invade all Egyptian land in the Middle East. Egypt will capitulate soon. Now, negotiate with India and Russia for lands you need that they have or plan to take on the future. If they refuse, wait till they are AI, then declare and cap snipe them so their stability will decrease and nations will declare independence. Around this time, it’s also a good idea to get planes.

Alternatively, you can invade them with nearby allies. Now your economy should be very strong. You should now be prepared to invade Iran. Make 3k tanks in Karachi, 1k tanks in Kabul, 2k in Baghdad (alternatively Aleppo or Damascus), and 1k in Dushanbe. Train all of the tanks for Arid Specialization.

If Iran is AI, use the Dushanbe and Baghdad tanks to lure the Iranian home guard. After that, form a massive line with your tanks and auto capture.

If Iran is a player, use artillery as well as the tanks to destroy their troops. If you border the Persian Gulf, it’s a good idea to make a large navy comprising of destroyers, battleships, frigates, submarines, and maybe an aircraft carrier if you have the cash. Otherwise, make a baby in the Caspian Sea and make sure some ships are in range of Tehran. Also make bombers, attackers, and fighters if you haven’t already.

Use your bombers to bomb Tehran, any square cities, and cities where Iran might spawn military to invade you. It is best to be careful, since a good Iran player may have the power to annex you whole (likely for an easy Persian Empire).

Now that Iran’s major cities have been bombed to the ground, you should start the land invasion. Use the Dushanbe, Kabul, and Karachi tanks to swoop down and invade the east of Iran. The Baghdad tanks should be split in half and take Al-Ahvaz and the northern part of Iran near Tabriz.

Iran should have left. The rest should be an easy auto capture. Congrats, you have now reformed Alexander the Great’s great empire!

Note: You may also take the Transcaucasian nations after forming Byzantine, however this may cause issues with Russia. Nonetheless, Baku, Yerevan, and Tbilisi are good points to invade Iran and Russia.

Strategy B:[]

If you have a friend who also plays Rise of Nations have him play as Russia, China or India in order to defeat and overpower other nations who will threaten your expansionist plan. It might work best if you have a method of direct communication i.e., voice chat, but private chat is also a viable option. As soon as the game starts you must invade your neighbors Albania, Bulgaria, and Macedonia. In case Turkey threatens to invade have your friend who is playing as either of the countries mentioned above to take out that nation after that they should cede it to you. If you have friend playing as Russia, they should be trying to form Russian Empire or Soviet Union. If you have a friend playing as India they should be trying to form Maurya Empire. If you have a friend playing as China, they should be trying to form Qing Dynasty.

In case Italy threatens to invade you to get a chance to form Roman Empire, have your friend come in to take him out and take his European and African Colonies. So, if you took out Italy. You can go advance into the Balkans and conquer the region to form the Balkan Federation to get an extra 10+ stability boost.

After forming the Balkan Federation you might have strong nations in Afro-Asia such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, or Egypt who could be/is a potential threat to prevent your expansion to the Stans. In case one of the countries try to stop your expansion have you and/or your friend try to take them out.

After conquering all the required countries necessary for the formable, you can restore the grand Macedonian Empire and bring glory to Alexander the Great!

It is recommended doing Strategy B as it is obviously easier if you have a friend played as the mentioned major/superpowers.
