Madagascar is a Tier III island nation off the coast of Africa . It is a fairly large island and has 24 cities.

Background[]

Madagascar, officially the Republic of Madagascar, and previously known as the Malagasy Republic, is an island country in the Indian Ocean, approximately 400 kilometers (250 miles) off the coast of East Africa. At 592,800 square kilometers (228,900 sq mi) Madagascar is the world's second-largest island country. The nation comprises the island of Madagascar (the fourth-largest island in the world) and numerous smaller peripheral islands. Following the prehistoric breakup of the supercontinent Gondwana, Madagascar split from the Indian subcontinent around 88 million years ago, allowing native plants and animals to evolve in relative isolation. Consequently, Madagascar is a biodiversity hotspot; over 90% of its wildlife is found nowhere else on Earth. The island's diverse ecosystems and unique wildlife are threatened by the encroachment of the rapidly growing human population and other environmental threats.

Madagascar belongs to the group of least developed countries, according to the United Nations. Malagasy and French are both official languages of the state. The majority of the population adheres to traditional beliefs, Christianity, or an amalgamation of both. Ecotourism and agriculture, paired with greater investments in education, health, and private enterprise, are key elements of Madagascar's development strategy. Under Ravalomanana, these investments produced substantial economic growth, but the benefits were not evenly spread throughout the population, producing tensions over the increasing cost of living and declining living standards among the poor and some segments of the middle class. As of 2017, the economy has been weakened by the 2009–2013 political crisis, and quality of life remains low for the majority of the Malagasy population.

Base Statistics[]

Economy[]

Madagascar starts off with an income of $303,267. $273,494 from tax and $29,773 from resources.

Resources[]

Madagascar is generally resource poor as it only produces small amounts of Chromium and Oil, but also produces Titanium, which is highly sought after for making tanks. However, this makes it vulnerable to invasion, although not to the same extent as countries such as Sierra Leone or Kazakhstan.

Threats[]

If you play as Madagascar, you are subject to the following:

Strategy[]

Turning Madagascar into a rich nation[]

First, justify on Reunion and Mauritius. Start Mobilizing your Military and Navy, After that build 2 electronic factories and buy the resources needed for it. (4 copper and 4 gold) check your Titanium trade to see if any European nation is stealing your materials. Sell the Electronics to AI nations and you shall get rich! Sort of. Then Navally Invade Reunion and Mauritius and take 75% of their resources and cash. Research Factory Output 1 and 2 in the Economy Tab. After that, Madagascar should be as rich!

Mobilizing the Army[]

You may be rich, but you still have a threat. It's most likely South Africa if that's the case then you can always improve your navy, remember "Being an island nation without a navy is like playing China without invading anyone." You should use your one and only square city to your advantage, Start building those Steel and Motor Factories (3 Tungsten, 4 Iron needed.) Then you can defend your capital and invade other nations, remember to train your Tanks or Infantry with Forest Specialization. If you don't get invaded by South Africa, refer to the other Tab below if you DO get invaded by South Africa refer to the other tab below.

Expanding and Moving It[]

I hope you get the reference of it, Anyways so before anyone like South Africa notices. You might wanna achieve superiority, First start mobilizing your army or Tanks (Recommended), You could've built your Factories by now and start justifying on Mozambique. Use AI Luring and use your tanks to capture their capital city of Maputo, Then Simply invade the rest of Mozambique. Feel free to invade any nation you like, as long as you think your army can handle it. Remember to always look at your mainland as any nation could plot an invasion against you.

Defending against an invading nation[]

Early Game, there is a good chance that other nations won't invade you for your Titanium. However there is a good chance a South Africa will invade. First of all, build submarines from your north and south waters so you can stop South Africa armies from reaching your land. In my rule of defending: "Remember, when being invaded you should always make the war a pain in the ahh of the aggresor." Either way, If they also have a navy then you can always mobilize your navy. Just remember to look at your upkeep and buy the resources needed if necessary.

Military[]

Madagascar has 1 division totaling 20,000 soldiers.
