Roblox Rise of Nations Wiki

Malaysia is a Tier IV nation located in the Southeast Asia .

Malaysia shares a border with Thailand. Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia, the country also shares a maritime border with the Philippines.

Background

Malaysia has its origins in the Malay kingdoms which, from the 18th century, became subject to the British Empire, along with the British Straits Settlements protectorate. Peninsular Malaysia was unified as the Malayan Union in 1946. Malaya was restructured as the Federation of Malaya in 1948 and achieved independence on 31 August 1957 under Tunku Abdul Rahman. Malaya united with North Borneo, Sarawak, and Singapore on 16 September 1963 to become Malaysia. In 1965, Singapore was expelled from the federation.

The country is multi-ethnic and multi-cultural. About half the population is ethnically Malay, with large minorities of Chinese, Indians, and indigenous peoples. While recognizing Islam as the country's established religion, the constitution grants freedom of religion to non-Muslims. The government is closely modelled on the Westminster parliamentary system and the legal system is based on common law. The head of state is an elected monarch, known as Yang di-Pertuan Agong, chosen from the hereditary rulers of the nine Malay states every five years. The head of government is the Prime Minister.

Strategy

There are many nations that stand in the way of the Malaysian expansion. Here are the strategies to deal with them:

Indonesia

The largest country in Southeast Asia obviously will bring a challenge for you. Indonesia already has 240k starting troops vs Malaysia's 80k troops and if controlled by a player, they may train more troops and tanks, inevitably declaring war on you. However, there are a few ways to defend.

Scenario 1: Invading from Borneo

Should they invade from Borneo you will have some time to prepare as their home guard is all in Java (The island with Jakarta). The first priority is to train as many troops as possible on Borneo before Malaysia enters deficit and move the home guard to Borneo. Train them immediately. If Indonesia uses tanks, upgrade the anti-tank infantry tech tree. Entrench them in Malaysian cities. Once Indonesian troops begin to attack the cities, the entrenched troops should be able to defend for a while. Import steel and motor parts from other countries, as the player does not have enough time to build factories. Create tanks to assist the troops in Borneo and fend off the Indonesians.

Scenario 2: Invasion from Sumatra

This scenario can easily be in Malaysia's favor as Indonesian need to be transported across the strait to get to the Peninsula, which takes much longer than an invasion from Borneo. Train 2 submarines in the Malacca strait between Malaysia and Sumatra. If Indonesia forgot to train destroyers, their men will slowly die. If Indonesia did prepare destroyers, they are probably a cautious and good player so the player's best option would be to try to negotiate a white peace. Once Indonesia realizes its mistakes and loses all its men, the player can either sue for peace or invade as revenge if they are confident, they can win.

Scenario 3: Invasion from both Borneo and Sumatra

If Indonesia invades from both Borneo and Sumatra, they will have to split up their troops. The player should also split up their troops. Only place one submarine in the Malacca Strait and spend the rest of the manpower and income on defending Borneo.

Remember to invade Singapore early. If Indonesia captures Singapore, the player will be at a great disadvantage as they have a large city (Johor Bahru) extremely close to Malaysian territory.

The Philippines

The Philippines is a challenging country that stands in the player's way, as they need Malaysia to form the Maphilindo Confederation. And once again the player is outnumbered in terms of troops. They have 140k troops versus Malaysia's 80k troops. But as always there is a strategy. Most players will try and invade Borneo to retake Sabah, so build two destroyers and submarines. Move the destroyers somewhere the Philippines may overlook, and the submarines right between the Philippines and Borneo, where they are most likely to invade. Since the Philippines is made up of islands, only a navy is needed to defend it.

Japan

Japan will need you to form the Empire of Japan and they have more troops and a much better economy. They may most likely bring navy warships to protect their troops from being annihilated.

Scenario 1: Ally :

This should make them not want to invade Malaysia, allowing the player to prepare in the event of invasion. If the request of alliance was declined by Japan, its certain that Malaysia will be invaded.

Scenario 2: Defend Malaysia with an iron fist:

To do this, make Malaysia look impenetrable by reinforcing coastal cities with lots of artillery or troops (artillery is preferable). Create at least 3 electronic factories and sell the Electronics to ensure the player does not enter the deficit. If they declare war on the player, wait for their troops to arrive. In the case that Japan has an air force, put anti-aircraft on all the player's cities. When the Japanese troops arrive, the player's artillery and troops should annihilate the enemy navy and troops. Just for good measure, also follow the Philippines strategy by building up the player's navy, as Japan will most likely invade the player from the Philippines.

Singapore

Although weaker when the player starts, they may be able to overwhelm your forces with enough time, so always invade Singapore shortly after the player joins Singapore shortly after the player join the server. This also provides a population boost.

Thailand

Thailand could be a player and would need you to form the Rattanakosin Kingdom as well as the Federation of Southeast Asian States. Yet if a fight breaks out, you have the advantage of being of half of your country being on an island. Put two submarines in between your two lands. You can also build a destroyer for the time being to help bombard.

Strategy for Forming Formables

Forming the Federation of Southeast Asian States

Your first priority is to declare war on Brunei using the home guard available at your disposal and annex it fully to seize its Oil. Then afterward you should divert your attention toward Singapore. After invading Singapore, develop your cities and train more troops for the invasion of Thailand. Then you must invade Burma, Laos, and Cambodia to seize their resources. Be sure when invading these 3 that you train more troops and boost your economy by developing your cities. It is vital to trade resources as Southeast Asia is not resource rich. Once you have invaded those 3, bring your troops to invade Indonesia. Make sure you have at least 300k troops before invading Indonesia because Indonesia's home guard consists of 240k troops. If there is a good player controlling Indonesia avoid invading, it and divert your attention to attack the Philippines as it is required to form the federation. After invading Indonesia and the Philippines invade Timor-Leste (To seize its resources, not needed to form federation and optional to invade). Finally, divert half of your existing army and invade Vietnam. Now you can form the Federation of Southeast Asian States

Forming the Rattanakosin Kingdom

Start off by justifying war on Singapore. and moving your troops to Johor Bahru (The city above Singapore). Once war has been justified, invade Singapore. While your annexation of Singapore is taking place develop all cities below Kuala Lumpur (There won't be enough to develop every city on the peninsula), justify war against Thailand and start training 100k troops in one of the northern cities that border Thailand (Either Kangar, Alor Setar or Kota Bharu). Once all of those are finished, begin your invasion of Thailand and save enough money to develop all cities north of Kuala Lumpur. Make sure to justify war against Laos and Cambodia by this point. Once your troops have fully annexed Thailand, allow them to recover and invade both Laos and Cambodia at the same time (Strong reminder to use 1 division per country if u choose to invade both at the same time). Once that is cleared out, justify war on Burma and develop all of the cities in Borneo and Singapore. Afterwards invade Burma with your 2 divisions and fully annex them. Now you can form the Rattanakosin Kingdom.

Forming the Maphilindo Confederation

Most people would pick the Philippines, but if you want more of a challenge, then you should form it as Malaysia. Forming the confederation is a difficult task. Both Indonesia and the Philippines are stronger than you in terms of military capabilities, so you will have to get ready as quickly as possible.

If luck is on your side both the Philippines and Indonesia will not be controlled by a player, but if they are you must act fast. Step 1 is to invade Brunei and Singapore for Oil and money. Use that money to train a fresh division of 100k troops and develop as many cities as you can on the peninsular for more money. Make sure your home guard troops and the new division are both placed on Borneo (Make sure auto-merging is off, the strategy will need them both to be separated). Make sure the fresh division is also trained to prevent significant casualties.

Invading the Philippines:

Declare war on the Philippines and bring your 100k troop division to invade Puerto Princessa on Palawan. This should lure the AI to send their home guard to retake it. In the meantime, use your home guard and invade Mindanao while the other division kills the AI. Once the AI is killed, bring your troops to invade Manila and the rest of Luzon. Once both divisions are done, invade the central and finish it off.

Once the Philippines has been annexed, your next target would be Indonesia. But before doing that, you would require more money, so invade Thailand with your divisions and fully annex them while you justify war on Indonesia. Make sure you at least develop all Thai and Filipino cities at least once to get enough money to get 3 more 100k divisions. Place 1 division in Mindanao, 1 in Kuching, 1 in Tawau, and 2 divisions in Singapore. Now declare war on Indonesia.

Invading Indonesia:

Start by placing your troops in Singapore to land Batam. This would lure 2/3 divisions in Java to come and attack. Once the AI is enroute, place your Tawau Division to the nearest city to lure the final Indonesian division to come. Once all of Indonesia's troops are dead, here are the invasion plans for each division.

1. The 2 Singaporean Divisions: In charge of invading Sumatra and Java.

2 .The Kuching Division: In charge of invading all of Western Borneo and Java as well as the southernmost city of West Papua. (To spare losses to the Mindanao Division)

3. The Tawau Division: In charge of invading all of Eastern Borneo and the islands next to Java. (You could enlist help of the Singaporean Division or the Kuching Division to make things go quicker)

4. The Mindanao Division: In charge of Sulawesi, Maluku and West Papua.

Once Indonesia is fully annexed, make a peace treaty with them and you can now form the Maphilindo Confederation!

Forming Alam Melayu

Start off by invading Brunei and Singapore using your home guard troops while developing as many cities in Malaysia as you can. Then march your home guard near the border with Thailand and get a new division of 100k troops. Once that is done, declare war and invade Thailand and immediately begin your invasion of Cambodia with your existing troops. Now that Cambodia is out of the way comes your first challenge, Vietnam. They have 130k troops and can decimate both of your existing divisions. To solve this issue and to also speed up time of quickly annexing Vietnam, we need a better attacking point to invade Hanoi in the north. Therefore, you will have to invade Laos, which will not be hard as their home guard only consists of 20k troops. You may use any division of your choice. Now that Laos has been taken over, develop all the cities in Thailand for a major cash boost in the long run. When Laos has been captured, make sure both divisions are at 150k troops. ow comes the strategy of taking out Vietnam. Follow the instructions very carefully.

Invading Indochina

Step 1: Take your division in Cambodia and annex the closest enemy city to lure the AI to send their troops to retaliate. While that happens send your troops in Laos to invade Hanoi and then the rest of northern Vietnam.

Step 2: Once the enemy has been dealt with, your troops in Cambodia should be in charge of taking southern Vietnam.

Step 3: Invade Vietnam fully and sure for peace once finished.

Invading the Philippines

Your next priority is to invade the Philippines so that you have a better position of taking Indonesia. Train a new division of 150k troops in Borneo and develop as many cities as you can to make sure your economy will not be affected. Once war has been declared on the Philippines, follow these steps.

Step 1: Bring you 150k troop division from Borneo and invade Puerto Princessa on Palawan. This should lure the AI to send their home guard to retake it.

Step 2: Bring the division from Cambodia and invade the central island. Also bring your division from Laos and invade Luzon.

Step 3: Once the enemy has been killed, use your Bornean troops and invade Mindanao, this way each division can invade a separate island to make the annexation process faster.

Step 4: When the Philippines collapses, sue for peace.

Invading Indonesia

Now that the Philippines have sued for peace, turn your attention towards Indonesia, the last major issue to solve. To have a success repeat the same strategy as with forming the Maphilindo Confederation.

Step 1: Train a new 150k division in Kuala Lumpur and develop the Filipino cities for more money.

Step 2: Place the troops according to these locations.

-1 division in Kuching

-1 division in Tawau

-2 divisions in Singapore

-1 division in Mindanao

Step 3: Declare war on Indonesia and place both your Singaporean divisions in Batam. This will lure 2/3 of the divisions of Java to retake Batam.

Step 4: Place your Tawau division to the nearest enemy city. This will lure the remaining division to come and retake it.

Step 5: Once all the divisions are dead, INVADE. Below are what your divisions should only take.

-The 2 Singaporean Divisions: In charge of invading Sumatra and Java

-Kuching Division: In charge of invading all of Western Borneo and Java as well as the southernmost city of West Papua (To spare losses to the Mindanao Division)

-Tawau Division: In charge of invading all of Eastern Borneo and the islands next to Java (You could enlist help of the Singaporean Division or the Kuching Division to make things go quicker)

-Mindanao Division: In charge of Sulawesi, Maluku and West Papua.

Step 6: When Indonesia is fully conquered, sue for peace, and annex them.

Now that Indonesia is out of the way, invade Timor-Leste with any division (excluding Kuching and Mindanao Divisions) of your choice. Also begin training 2 150k divisions in George Town as these 2 divisions will be in charge of taking out Madagascar and New Zealand. Also bring one of your divisions to invade Taiwan (If China is a player, prepare some destroyers or submarines to deal with their troops). Now you can invade the rest of the island nations in the pacific with no worry. This should be the order of doing the island-hopping campaign.

  1. Palau
  2. Guam
  3. The Solomon Islands
  4. Vanuatu
  5. New Caledonia
  6. The Marshall Islands
  7. Fiji
  8. American Samoa
  9. Kiribati
  10. The Cook Islands
  11. French Polynesia

Now with all the countries needed to form it, form Alam Melayu!
