— Description of forming Mandingo Federation |
Mandingo Federation was a formable that can be formed by and requires Mali, Burkina Faso, Côte d'lvoire, Guinea, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, and Senegal. It was removed from the game on the update of November 11, 2022, along with many other African formables.
Background[]
The Mandinka trace their origins to the Ghana Empire, also known as Wagadu, which flourished between the 6th and 13th centuries in what is now southeastern Mauritania and western Mali. Following the empire's decline, the Mandinka established the Mali Empire in the 13th century under the leadership of Sundiata Keita. This empire became one of the most powerful and influential in West Africa, known for its wealth, military prowess, and the spread of Islam. Wikipedia
The Mali Empire's influence extended across West Africa, encompassing regions that are now part of Mali, Guinea, Senegal, and other countries. The Mandinka people played a crucial role in the empire's administration, military, and cultural development. Their rich oral traditions, music, and storytelling have left an indelible mark on the cultural heritage of the region.
During the colonial period, the Mandinka experienced significant upheavals. In Sierra Leone, for instance, Samori Ture led a resistance against French colonial forces in the late 19th century, establishing the Wassoulou Empire, which included parts of present-day Guinea and Sierra Leone. His rule brought Islamic governance to these regions, influencing local cultures and societies.
The Wassoulou Empire, sometimes referred to as the Mandinka or Mandingo Empire, was a short-lived (1878–1898) empire of West Africa built from the conquests of Malinke ruler Samori Ture and destroyed by the French colonial army.
In 1864, Toucouleur ruler El Hajj Umar Tall died near Bandiagara, leaving the then-dominant Toucouleur Empire tottering and a number of chiefs rushing to break their own pieces away from the newly weakened federation. By far the most successful among them was Samori Touré of what is now southwestern Guinea.
Geography[]
Terrain[]
The Mandingo Federation's terrain was flat.
Biome[]
In southern and central Côte d'Ivoire, Sierra Leone, and southern Guinea, the biome was Jungle. Northern Mali contains the only Arid area. The rest has no biome.
Strategy[]
As Mali, increase your army size, then:
- Annex Burkina Faso first, make sure you have a lot of troops.
- Then take Côte d'Ivoire, it was recommended to have at least 200k infantry to take the 2 square cities.
- After that take Guinea, have a navy to deal damage to the home guard.
- Then take Sierra Leone, make sure to protect your land if another nation wants it too.
- Then after these take Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, and The Gambia, You should be wary of Portugal, The UK, and France if they want to form their empires.
Notes:[]
- Make sure not to engage in too many wars at once or your stability will suffer and the countries you have annexed will declare independence from you!
- For every AI country you encounter, use the AI Luring method.
Threats[]
- Nigeria, Egypt and South Africa have the power to expand into all of Africa.
- Sierra Leone has 2 units of Titanium for steel for tanks. Power-hungry nations could take Sierra Leone for Titanium.
- Egypt or another nation in the Sahara may wait to expand into Mali to form the Saharan Kingdom, although that was fairly rare.
- As mentioned in the strategy, France, The UK, and Portugal could try to annex their former colonies if they want to form their empires, but that was a very rare sight.
- Another nation could also want to form the Mandingo Federation.
Resources[]
The Mandingo Federation produces the following resources:
Resource | Quantity |
---|---|
Oil | 2.4 |
Phosphate | 8.4 |
Titanium | 2 |
Uranium | 1.2 |
Aluminum | 14.4 |
Diamond | 4.8 |
Gold | 12 |
iron | 2.8 |
- These are valuable and abundant, making it a surprisingly a high source of income.
