| — Description of forming Maphilindo Confederation |
The Maphilindo Confederation is a formable replacement to the 
Filipino Empire. It is located in Southeast Asia and it borders 
Thailand, 
Papua New Guinea, 
Brunei and 
Timor-Leste.

The Maphilindo Confederation is a concept of the real life Maphilindo which aimed to make a unified Malay state. This was proposed by Tan Malaka and Dr. Jose Rizal. Their concept was used in 1963 when the Philippine President Diosdado Macapagal encouraged Indonesia and Malaysia to make the concept a reality.

However, Diosdado and Sukarno's plan was delayed as the formation of Malaysia caused problems between the new Malay state and Indonesia. This is because of their claims in North Borneo. Sabah is claimed by the Philippines while Indonesia claims the entirety of Malaysia. The proposal soon came to an end because of the heated tensions between Malaysia and Indonesia causing Sukarno to implement the policy called "Konfrontasi" calling in the proposal to end. Today, many politicians and economists urge to have another third proposal because of Chinese influence slowly eating Southeast Asia but the third proposal is still unconfirmed and denied as for now. The original plan for a united state based on the concept of the Malay race was attempted by Wenceslao Vinzons during the Philippines' Commonwealth era. Vinzons had envisioned a united Malay race, which he termed "Malaya Irredenta" (later another name for the union). In his 1959 book Someday, Malaysia, Major Abdul Latif Martelino (later operations officer in the infamous Jabidah massacre) also cited the vision of President Manuel L. Quezon for an integrated, pan-Malayan nationhood in the region. Quezon envisioned creating a better state which was united. Having a united race at the time would pave way for the development of the Malay. The united state would however, be achieved by the contribution of the people living in the region. Quezon was determined to make his intentions known to the people so that the vision could be easily achieved in the future. |

The Maphilindo Confederation produces 5,583,264 of total income, a manpower capacity of 1,775,711, and daily gain of 8,361 manpower. Once this is formed it will rank up to top 6 which gains a reputation as a Regional Power and almost a Global power.

Strategy[]
To form a united Malay state, it is generally easier to play as the 
Philippines because the Philippines is one of the Regional Powers in rankings. It has a decent manpower and economy so you should manage it carefully. If you want a challenge, then play as 
Malaysia but this country is not good in terms of economy since it has low population.
As the Philippines[]
If Indonesia is AI:
First, build 3 Electronic Factories to generate more money. After selling the electronics, immediately make 1 Steel factory and 1 Motor Parts factories. Then, make 1.2k tanks to invade Malaysia. After taking Kuala Lumpur and Georgetown, split your tanks into 6 divisions and put it on auto-capture. After annexing Malaysia, proceed to make fertilizer and civilian factories, as invading Indonesia is going to take some time. You can then make 1 destroyer and 2.4k tanks. Justify war on Indonesia, then after the justification, declare war. After bombarding Indonesian troops, take Jakarta, and split your tanks into 12 divisions and put it on auto-capture. Then, you can proceed to form the Maphilindo Confederation! Long live the Union!
If Indonesia is NOT AI:
First, build 3 Electronic Factories to generate more money. After selling the electronics, immediately make 1 Steel factory and 1 Motor Parts factories. If Indonesia has captured Malaysia by now, make 1 battleship, 3 submarines, 1 destroyer and 3k tanks. After that, merge your battleship and destroyer together and bombard Indonesian infantry. If Indonesian troops are leaving via the shores of Malaysia or Indonesia, place your submarines there, then you can proceed to sink the troops. After that, split your tanks into 2 division, one division with 1k tanks and another division with 2k. Use the 2k tanks division to capture Jakarta and put it on auto-capture if Indonesia has given up and left the game. Use the 1k tanks division to take Georgetown and Kuala Lumpur then you can also put it on auto-capture. After the perilous invasion, you can now form the Maphilindo Confederation. Congratulations, your efforts were worth it.
As Malaysia[]
If Indonesia and Philippines is AI:
First, justify war against Indonesia and Philippines. Then, make 3 electronic factories. after selling the electronics, wait until you get enough money. Then make a motor factory, a steel manufactory and 1 submarine. After you get motor parts and steel, make around ~3k tanks (make sure to trade oil so you don't get into oil shortage). After this the war justification should be finished. Before declaring war you must use stability policies (like press censorship) and increase government spending to low. Then you can declare war on Philippines and Indonesia. Then, place the submarine close to the south of Belitung island in Indonesia (north of java island). Then, capture the city on Belitung island with the tanks. After this, All of the Indonesian home guards should be lured towards the captured city. After the submarine has killed the home guards, capture Jakarta with the tanks. Then split the tanks and then use auto-capture to get the rest of Indonesia. After Indonesia has collapsed make a peace treaty with Indonesia. you can use the same strategy on Philippines. Put the submarine between Manila and Puerto Princesa (on an island the west of Philippines) then capture the city with the leftover tanks. After the home guard is gone, capture Manila with the tanks and then auto-capture for the rest of Philippines. After the peace treaty is signed, you can proceed to form The Union.

Threats[]
Southeast Asia is a nightmare where anything can happen, but 
Vietnam and 
Indonesia are your main threats. Either Philippines or Malaysia are threats as well depending on who wants to form what. 
Japan may want to form 
Empire of Japan, and can possibly beat 
China if they are skilled enough. Speaking of China, most people who play it love expanding in Asia, and may do so. However, a good naval defense can protect you from most of these.
