Mexico is a nation in North America . Being the second strongest nation in its continent, just behind the United States, it's no surprise that Mexico has its fair share of base statistics and geographical blessings. Nearly the entire country has some sort of terrain and biome, making it excruciatingly difficult to invade. Despite this, its much more famed neighbour, the United States, usually invades it after Canada, to form the North American Union, and is usually surprisingly succesful at doing so.
Despite this, a well played Mexico can take advantage of its lack of releasables (and as such, less cores to keep at bay, unlike, say, Russia), its absolutely blessed geographical location, and generally great demographics, to crush the United States, and as such, practically win over the continent of North America .
Background[]
The first iteration of a United Mexican state came into existance after the Mexican War of Independence, fought between Mexican revolutionaries and the overruling Spanish (New Spain). The state was called the First Mexican Empire, and existed for only 2 years. In 1824, after losing Central America, the nation transformed into the First Mexican Republic. This was also the first iteration of Mexico to have its official name be the "United Mexican States". After this, the nation underwent multiple different iterations, with the largest event in its history during this time being the Mexican-American War over the land disputes of Texas. In modern times, the nation of Mexico is riddled with gang and street violence, drug empires being formed, and the country being in a near civil war state. For multiple decades, the nation has been trying to fight off the evergrowing Cartel and other Mexican drug/terrorist groups, usually located in Baja or the Yucatan. Despite this, Mexico has a semi-centralised government, and the nation is objectively peaceful in the populated regions of Mexico City, which is also its capital. |

Strategy[]
Despite Mexico being a Tier VI nation, it has a hard time rising to the full extent of its power, due to the repercussions of being located right next to the United States. You almost always want to be the one to start a war with the US, since it will take time for them to get ready and mass troops along your border, however, it is possible to win if the USA player fails to properly use it's large reserves of manpower and money. In most cases you want to ally the US and go for the Mexican Empire, and by the time you finish the Mexican Empire, you might be able to challenge Brazil for Colombia to get Oil. However, if the USA does invade you, there is a strategy for that.
If United States does attack you, you should build a fortification on Mexico City, 1 city south of Mexico City, and another 4 cities north of Mexico City that you want to protect. Put your troops (250K-500K trained troops) anti-aircraft and artillery on your capital and fortifications (put 100K trained troops on other fortifications). You should try capturing Washington with tanks or troops thru the sea if America does not have a navy. Also make 3 electronics factories and sell the Electronic before the war. Also make an aircraft manufactory so you can make attackers and fighters to defeat giant stacks of troops. You should turn on Limited Conscription and later, if you have enough Political Power, turn on the Neutrality Act. If the United States manages to make a navy complete with Aircraft Carriers, make a small navy of your own. This navy is not meant to challenge the American one but to distract the American navy enough so that your coastal defenses (and Mexico City) are effected as little as possible. This navy should consist if 1 battleship, at least 5 destroyers, 4-5 submarines, and multiple frigates that are being constantly replaced. The main force of this navy should be frigates and submarines, and destoyers which are easily replaceable and will harass the American navy. Place artillery on you coasts to further prevent the Americans from coming near. Use your mini-navy to bait the American mavy away to place like Colombia and Bermuda. Eventually, the United States should white peace.
If the United States gets you later, you can scorch the border and place artillery there. Forming the Mexican Empire is a good idea if you can do it. You do not need allies, but it is a good choice. Once the USA rage quits, or is out of manpower, you can invade the capital next.
