The Mughal Empire was an early empire in South Asia. For around two centuries, the empire stretched from the outer fringes of the Indus basin in the west, northern Afghanistan in the northwest, and Kashmir in the north, to the highlands of present-day Assam and
Bangladesh in the east, and the uplands of the Deccan plateau in south
India.
The Mughal Empire is conventionally said to have been founded in 1526 by Babur, a warrior chieftain from what today is The Mughal Empire was created and sustained by military warfare. Under Akbar it did not vigorously suppress the cultures and people it came to rule, instead incorporating conquered nobles into the empire's administrative structure and practicing religious tolerance, leading to more efficient, centralized, and standardized rule. Later emperors gradually moved away from these policies in attempts to create a more orthodox Muslim state. Akbar also instituted an agricultural tax system that became the base of the empire's wealth. These taxes, which amounted to well over half the output of a peasant cultivator, were paid in the well-regulated silver currency, and caused peasants and artisans to enter larger markets. The relative peace maintained by the empire during much of the 17th century was a factor in India's economic expansion. Burgeoning European presence in the Indian Ocean, and its increasing demand for Indian raw and finished products, created still greater wealth in the Mughal courts. There was more conspicuous consumption among the Mughal elite, resulting in greater patronage of painting, literary forms, textiles, and architecture, especially during the reign of Shah Jahan. Among the Mughal UNESCO World Heritage Sites in South Asia are Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Red Fort, Humayun's Tomb, Lahore Fort, Shalamar Gardens and the Taj Mahal, which is described as "the jewel of Muslim art in India, and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage." |
Economy and Manpower[]
The Mughal Empire boasts $13.1 million income and a manpower cap 5,565,467 manpower.
Geography[]
Terrain[]
The northern border of the country is entirely Mountainous. A region with mountains also is central and northern Afghanistan except for its panhandle, eastern and central
Pakistan, and much of
India's eastern border with
Burma, except for the north, which in this case, is Semi-Mountainous. There are also Hilly areas in southern Afghanistan, western Pakistan, and the Deccan Plateau. Everywhere else not mentioned or excepted is flat.
Biome[]
Almost all of Afghanistan is Arid, except for its panhandle, which is in the normal biome. This is in the same case with Pakistan, however, the exception is its north and its northeastern tip. India's capital and everything west of it is Jungle, and also, the southwestern and southern tip of the country. The Arid biome is easily one of if not the largest biome in India. It lays on top of the southern Jungle biome, and like the Jungle, has a northwestern panhandle in India's central-west. Arid can also be found in much of Indian border with Pakistan, except for the north. The rest of the biome is normal. Lastly, the entirety of Bangladesh is covered with Jungle.
Strategy[]
The best country to form the Mughal Empire as is Pakistan, so this strategy will apply to a Pakistani playthrough. The thing you should do first is go the trading route and get electronics factories.
The preferred ideology for this run is communism.
Your first action should be to build at least 3 electronic factories. Then, spawn lots of infantries and artillery. You should hire generals, as they could easily mean the difference between forming or getting conquered. After your factories are built, sell your electronics to other nations, and develop your cities for a backup economy. After that try to get max research tree early. It is a good idea to start building aircraft, as well.
Now, you should probably research the Support, Infantry, and Political Trees. It is also an excellent idea to train your army, so you can get stronger units without the cost of losing men. Now that you have a decent army and a decent economy, conquer Afghanistan, and justify Bangladesh. After that, India should've declared war by now.
Another thing you should take your advantage of is your terrain, as it is Arid and Mountainous, which is perfect for defeating the onslaught of the Indian units. You can further use this advantage by building fortifications. Since the enemy units are taking attrition in your terrain, they are vulnerable to artillery fire and attackers. At this point, the Indian player will likely get desperate and will start spawning attackers in an attempt to turn the tide of the war. You can counter this by building fighters or anti aircraft. With these factors combined, India should suffer heavy losses. As India is a democracy, these losses will result in its war exhaustion rising and his stability taking a heavy blow, weakening him internally. If you use all your numerous advantages against India, his strength will start to plummet, to the point of not having the manpower necessary to fight effectively. At this point, you can go on the offensive and advance into India and take their cities and defeat any of their weakened units remaining.
Once you've completely conquered India, you should declare war on Bangladesh and conquer them.
Congrats, you've formed the Mughal Empire!
Threats[]
India might be a player and needs every nation you require for the
Maurya Empire. The number of Indian players could be decreasing, however, so this threat could get less and less relevant.
Iran could conquer
Afghanistan for the
Khwarazmian Dynasty and it and
Pakistan for the
Persian Empire. (RARE)
Macedonia or
Greece trying to form the
Macedonian Empire. (RARE)
- A skilled
Mongolia attempting to form the
Mongol Empire. (RARE)
- Any Muslim nation seeking to form the
Islamic Caliphate. (RARE)
- A
United Kingdom player might take on the difficult task of forming the
British Empire, and will therefore need to conquer the entire Indian Subcontinent. (VERY RARE)
