Namibia, officially the Republic of Namibia, is a large, sparsely populated Tier II nation located in southern Africa .
Background[]
The Republic of Namibia is a vast, sparsely populated country situated along the south Atlantic coast of Africa. It is the first country in the world to incorporate the protection of the environment into its constitution.
South Africa occupied the
German colony of Süd-West Afrika during World War I and administered it as a United Nations mandate until after World War II when it annexed the territory.
In 1966 the Marxist South-West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) guerrilla group launched a war of independence for the area that was soon named Namibia. Still, it was not until 1988 that the apartheid regime of South Africa agreed to end its administration in accordance with a UN peace plan for the entire region. Independence came in 1990.

Military[]
Namibia has a tiny manpower cap of 60,000 and gains 338 manpower. Building a Recruitment Center in your capital city is a good idea so you can gain manpower 25% faster from that city. Namibia's starting conscription law is volunteer.

Geography[]
Terrain[]
Namibia's terrain consists of entirely flat land.
Biome[]
Arid is the only other biome besides the normal one in the country, and the most abundant. It is mostly uninhabited, and the coasts provide the only populated region in the country at the start of the game. The upside to this is that it makes it hard for enemy units to capture Namibian cities, as they would have to travel long distances in the harsh Arid biome before they reach the next one. The panhandle is entirely made up of the normal biome.
Borders[]
Namibia borders South Africa (or its releasable,
Cape Republic) to the south,
Zambia and
Botswana to the East, and
Angola to the North. It has a border with the South Atlantic Ocean to the west.
Strategy[]
Defending from
South Africa[]
South Africa is one of the most commonly played nations in the game. As a result, you will need skill to defend yourself from it. Thankfully, Namibia has Arid climate to help resist foreign invasions. Make a fertilizer factory and sell the resulting fertilizer to AI nations for good profit. Build forts in your south and make two units of artillery. Next, justify on
Botswana and
Zambia, and send some infantry to take the countries. By doing this, you are starting to cut
South Africa off from expansion.
When South Africa finally invades, move your artillery up as
South Africa's troops traverse your fortified cities, and try to destroy as much of their army as possible. Refocus your entire army towards your capital and continue to build artillery and resist
South African waves until the
South African player leaves in anger or wants to white peace.
Defending from
Germany[]
Defending from Germany, or any overseas power shouldn't be hard. Make fertilizer factories to make enough money to buy plenty of oil. Make three frigates to patrol your coast and destroy German transport vessels. Also make a piece of artillery along the coast if you like, as artillery and mess up German naval vessels. If
Germany tries to come back to you with stronger ships, utilize the creation of destroyers to hold your maritime ground.
Expanding[]
If
South Africa is AI[]
Make 2-3 electronic factories and sell as much Electronics as possible to make money. Build two infantry divisions and one artillery division. Justify war goals on
Botswana and
South Africa. Use AI luring to deal with
Botswana, using what should be your total army of 40,000 infantry. Beware of attrition and move slowly. Send your artillery into
South Africa, so that it is close to but not on their cities. The artillery should erase
South Africa's troops.
From there, it's a boring process of putting your infantry on auto-capture to take South Africa, and building more and more infantry to do the work.
Threats[]
- Your main threat is
South Africa forming the
South African Union.
- The
Democratic Republic of the Congo could expand southward and attempt to conquer you.
Germany attempting to form the
German Empire is something to look out for. This does not occur very often, but it is still a possibility.
- In late game, countries wanting to create nukes need uranium, which Namibia produces.
Politics[]
Namibia's starting ideology is non-aligned. You should change your ideology to socialism later, as doing so will boost your factory production, and you can sell plenty of fertilizer to become quite wealthy.
Policies such as the Public Service Act or Press Censorship are essential to playing Namibia for ensuring maximum resource production and stability.
